If they win, they advance to the American League Championship Series for the first time since 2001. If they lose, of course, the season is over. And we’re again joined by the host of Fox 13 sports podcast on the sidelines, Dante Jackson. What are the keys to this game tonight in your mind? >> Did you know that the Mariners outfielder Randy Arozarena holds the MLB record for most home runs in a postseason with ten? >> I did not know that. >> That’s great playoff Randy to show up. Now he has four hits out of 18 at bats and hitting 222. I’m looking for Randy to break out today and carry the Mariners to victory. We need an unlikely contribution. And Randy is that guy. >> Was skubal on the mound, though it was Jorge Polanco that had his number the last time we matched up with two home runs. What about him? >> Jorge Polanco? Definitely. He holds a mental edge over Tarik Skubal and so do all other mariners. Now, Skubal has been susceptible to the home run, the long ball. And that’s what the Mariners are great at. We also need to get people on base when they hit those home runs. >> So we get more runs coming, not just yes. All right. Of course, fans are a big part of T-Mobile Park. The Mariners are 18 and seven in games at home, with more than 40,000 fans in attendance. That since the start of 2024. That’s the best in the MLB. So what does that say about the fans and how big a role are the fans going to play tonight? Do you. >> Think the fans are rabid? They’re thirsty for a winner, a championship, and I think this is their year. The Mariners fans have supported this team from start to finish. They have won 23 out of the last 30 games at home. So the the home record has been great and the fans have been a big part of that. Look for the fans to have T-Mobile Park rocking tonight. >> All right. I asked you for your prediction just a few minutes ago, but I liked it so much. I’m going to ask you for it again. So what is it? >> I think the Mariners win win the game 4 to 2. I’ll even give you a score. 4 to 2. John. The Mariners carry out that victory and move on to the ALCS. Get your passports Toronto here we come. >> Unfortunately, that also means those Canadian fans come down here as well. So we got to make sure if that does happen let’s sell it out locally. Don’t sell those tickets. Don’t resell those tickets, those Canadian fans. So we have like some kind of home field advantage here for Toronto sometimes happens when they visit during the summer. >> I think you won’t have that problem this time, John. I mean, they haven’t won in so long. I can’t imagine the home fans letting Toronto come and take over this stadium. We want that ALCS right now and I think they will come out and support this team.
