Amazing IDEA, I could see a Minnesota Wild Hockey game for the first time and break even money wise! I live in Cleveland area so I could Drive from Cleveland, Ohio to St. Paul, Minnesota and back which is approximately 1,488 miles round trip.
My car, 2020 Ford Fusion Hybrid, averages about 42 miles per gallon, meaning the trip would require roughly 35.4 gallons of gas.
At an average gas price of $3.50 per gallon, fuel would cost about $124.
Adding an $80 game ticket brings the total trip cost to $204.
The trip includes receiving a free Minnesota Wild Yeti cup with unlimited refills. The cup’s retail value is about $40, and an average stadium fountain drink costs around $7.
To offset the remaining $164 in expenses through drink value alone, it would require approximately 24 refills.
An NHL game, including pregame and intermissions, lasts about three hours.
To consume 24 refills within that timeframe, it would require one refill approximately every 7.5 minutes.
Which means I would actually get my moneys worth and attend a Wild game essentially for free with the added fountain drink/Yeti value!
My friend lives in Chicago so Id have a free place to sleep halfway there and back so that covers lodging costs.
1 person agree this is a financially sound decision and I'll do this

Outstanding idea!
To pull this off you need to factor in the cost of a catheter. Save money with DIY installation
Dude’s making grilled cheese at night fer sher
Need a ticket?
Is it soft drinks or can you refill with beer too? 24 sodas seems too much, but 24 beers… now that’s a challenge worth taking on.
This fired me up! I want a vlog or something 😂
Honestly with the amount of effort put in to do this I would say go for it if you really want to do it.
Then of course you have to tell us how it went later.
I remember I went to Alex Goligoski’s 1000th game celebration with my college roommate it was his first ever regular season hockey game and it was a wild game that I remember every detail of ever since. We then I’ll advisedly drove straight back to SJU in the middle of a snow storm with the roads becoming completely snowed over as I was running out of gas and nearly slid off the road several times. My roommate who is from Texas was terrified of getting trapped on the side of the road and freezing to death. I was just annoyed that it turned an hour forty drive into a two and half hour drive.
We after much trouble and near disaster we made it back to campus at half past midnight. So a 6/10 college student story.
Lived in Cleveland for a long time, now residing in Minnesota. You must do this. I’ll meet you outside the arena with a diet Coke to celebrate
Don’t forget to skip the ice because the drink already comes out cold. More bang for your buck
Keep in mind concessions close after the 2nd intermission so you’re going to have to pound those drinks faster than you thought. Although gates do open 75 minutes before slated puck drop, so you can make some time up there.
