They hate us cos they ain’t us
The point still stands: people hate the reigning cup champ. Add a second cup in a row and thats double the hate. I cant remember the last cup winner that wasnt considered “dirty”
I believe the reason why it may seem louder now than ever before is because we have hit a point in the life of the internet where negativity generates much more attention than positivity or middle of the road takes.
Even though THG is by far the least biased commentator in hockey fandom, the comment sections still turn into tire fires because people have a hard time being reasonable under the anonymity of a youtube handle.

The biggest thing in this is how teams often times try to roll out a bigger, tougher line up against the panthers but it just backfires because the panthers are so good at exposing bad match ups. The game winner against the flyers on Thursday was with their “big” 4th line on the ice. The only way to beat the panthers is off the rush with stretch passes.
Watched it yesterday. Spot on.
Basically, it’s the same reason why people hate ANY franchise that has prolonged success…it’s envy!

So, I get it….the Panthers have absolutely dominated the past 3-4 seasons.
It makes sense.
What doesn’t make sense is all the dumbass conspiracies and suddenly acting like fights, cheap shots, and retaliatory actions are something new in Hockey!
