JORGE POLANCO WINS IT IN THE 15TH INNING! The Mariners are heading to the ALCS in 2025 🔱

Kanley hoping that maybe a change up can induce a ground ball here from Palano to try to send this to the 16th inning. Palanco with one swing could end the series. [Applause] waved on and missed on a change up again. He knows it’s coming and he still is so far out in front of it. The defense here is kind of halfway. Glabber Torres, if it’s not hit right at you and you don’t think you can turn it, you got to come home. One and one. What do you think about where Jav’s playing right now? Well, Jav is in kind of a modified shift because you can’t shift anymore. They’re they’re taking away the ball up the middle because Kanley just throws so many change ups. One-1 to Palanco. Two and one. And anything to the outfield here, the game is over cuz with JP Crawford on third, the Tigers don’t have the arms to throw him out at the plate. Crawford the winning run at third. One out. The two-1 pitch to Palono. Foul. Well, two and two on a change up. A little surprised they’re so deep in right field right here. AJ. Well, if it gets through, it’s the game’s over. Yeah, but a fly ball. I mean, you got to be able to throw him out of home. Can he do it from there? No, but if it’s hit that deep, he’s not throwing him out anyway. So, yeah, I agree with you. He probably should be in, but I throw him a heater right here and try and punch him out. Two two pitch. It was a heater. It was low. That runs the count full. There was nowhere to put Palo. Don’t swing. Auto take. Cold strategy, but I’m for it. 3-2. Palanco sends it into right and will send Seattle to the American League Championship Series for the first time in 24 years. [Applause] Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] Heat up here. [Applause]

Jorge Polanco walks it off for the Seattle Mariners in the 15th inning against the Tigers and sends the M’s to the ALCS for the first time since 2001!!!

  1. My wife couldn't make it and went to bed, so i was alone in my living room jumping around like a kid on Christmas! Great series and one of the greatest game 5's in history. Much respect for Detroit and their fans.

  2. The Mariners vs. Blue Jays matchup should be a great series. I'm neutral on who wins, but I'm just glad it's not the Yankees, or Astros back in the ALCS. It's great to see un-recent teams make it that far.

  3. The tigers had plenty of opportunities to win this game, 12 inning especially, 2nd and 3rd with 1 out and couldn’t even as much as a sac fly. There were multiple other innings they had runners on but just couldn’t get that big hit. Too bad..

  4. If Woo is healthy, the Mariners staff far outclasses Toronto's. Just a matter of making quality pitches against a Blue Jay's team that swung it with authority against the Yanks, and Vlad is particularly on fire, pitch around that guy. The 2 1977 expansion teams meet for the AL championship a mere 38 years later. Go M's

  5. What a game!
    What a series!
To win a game like that at home is very special and I loved watching it happen.
I know they are devastated, but Detroit should feel no shame at all.
That was an amazing MLB series to watch for this Dodger fan!

  6. I'm not a Mariners fan, but I'm going to cheer for them in the series against the Blue Jay's. "Go Dodgers" make it Back 2 back titles.

  7. I'm a bit biased as a Mariners fan, but this is the best game of baseball I've seen in a long time.

I haven't watched as much baseball lately, but I remember the 2001 World Series game 7, and the 2003/2004 ALCS game 7s, and of course the 1995 ALDS game 5. I think this game deserves to be in this conversation with all of those.

  8. Tigers were the worst team in the Postseason, they lack offense (hitters), and Mariners will be lucky to get past the next round. I don’t see them going far at all with their inconsistency.
