NHL Highlights | Kings vs. Jets – October 11, 2025
Ya Leferier against Caves I of follow and the rookie Gibbreov. [Applause] Kings coming off an electric 65 shootout victory Wednesday in Vegas and underway here in the first period as Biffield races in FIA right in. Great chance and a better save by Halabach. 15 seconds in. Wow. the attack and all of a sudden the Jets focus on the puck. Watch Biffield. He knew he just had to poke it. You can see with Fia, he finally does get control of the puck. But we’ll see him take it first on his skate and I think Kevin, you know, he just didn’t really have 100% control of it. He made the quick move, but Hellbuck was right there. The goal down low for Taves trying to make a play. It wasn’t there. Peock fires it up high and a good save by Keer. Right in front. Defended well. Now a shot by Valardi trying to go short side on Keer. Now centered by a follow wide open. He scores. Top corner power play goal. One Jets. Throughout the entire power play for the Winnipeg Jets. The Kings never did seem comfortable. It was total control. The Kings having a difficult time getting ticks on the puck. And through that power play, John, what happened? Winnipeg had two men in front of the net. At the end, you’ll see it’ll only be one. Look at the spacing here. The spacing by the Jets is absolutely perfect. And right there, you see what Edmonson has to back off. He thinks something happened back door. Especially, I think for Kings fans, all of those years we documented that early. Yeah. Luke Shen and Malot. Two tough customers. Luke Shen Southpaw lands a couple. Now Malot gets on top. So really not much there as they drop the both guys were willing. They were squaring off initially. The Kings understand what goes on with him. The stand up, the hit. Mot just hangs around for Stanley and that’s when Shen jumps in. So LA 39 see Stanley makes the contact against Turkot and that’s who Malot was going for and just as he’s going for Stanley. That’s when watch this right here. You want me Shen turns around. You’ve got me now. Stanley goes 67 230. But Luke certainly knows his way around and I mentioned there the grabbing on trying to get the square off situation going. By the way, Luke Shen, his brother Braden, both from Saskatoon. Actually, both are very good. They’re 1,000 games the same season. So, we ran at full strength on the ice in front. Backhander right on. Keer makes the save on Valardi. Last year, the Jets had six players with five or more power play goals. Valardi led with 12. Here’s Shley in front. What a save by Keer on Valardi from the swap spent with total control of the puck in the offensive zone for the Jets on the power play. There’s the better chance you were talking about earlier, John, with a big save. Valardi’s low. He takes a step out high spreading out. They have guys that can hurt you from every position on the ice. Now the Kings up the middle and a good glove save by Keerow by Shling. How about that one? At the last second at this time, they take a dump in, move it off, move it to the outside very quickly. Give and go with Connor. And that’s all it took. Watch the glove hand of Keer. Wow. It’s there. It’s in position. 40 left in the minor. Now stolen by Arma with Kempe. Short handed. Kemp right in. Rebound and Ar can’t tuck it under. Hell. [Applause] There’s the play with a stick. Now watch this pass when he zips it. He zips it over. I think Kee got himself in no man’s land. He was kind of doubting, should I make the big move across the crease or should I shoot it and the pad save there then get getting help from defenders. So John, we’ll talk about it. It’s now three shots on goal for the Kings and all three have been point blank high. Regardless, it’s still Winnipeg. Another break for the Kings. Keep Ar and a shot off the crossbar by Kempe. And now Army in backhander right on save by Hell. All the chances they’ve had and then post save. Jets up by one. It happen defensively. So very active. Great to start the game. And teams at full strength underway here in the second period. Had an open side but couldn’t knock it by Habibok who may have poked it away. Yeah, hell. Very good read there with a stick. And now Anderson shoots and he scores. Mikey Anderson through a screen and the Kings have tied the game at one. So the chances have been there. And then on a long shot that doesn’t look dangerous becomes dangerous because Helle did not see it or he just didn’t pick up the puck. But Hellbuck was good early. Kopitar’s in front. Yes, Kopitar waved his stick there too. Initially, I was looking for a reaction from Kopi to see maybe if he touched that one. It looks like it’s a fluttering shot right from the get-go. I think he might have tipped that high high. Yeah, really good for checking period by Los Angeles. And the puck at the line. Kyle Connor gives it up. Now Kente tips it into the zone. Keno, what a pass. Kente, he scores. What passing there and the Kings have taken a two to one lead. That play was lit. Wow. The speed of Kempe is the originator of the chance. Watch Kempe right here and then Kee right there. He keeps it alive. Watch this one. Oh my. I don’t know which pass was better, Kuzeno to Kopitar or Kopitar to Kee. It’s just one of those things where everyone gets involved. I mentioned a couple of moments ago, John, right? Connected. These three guys are connected. They’re there to support. If one guy gets into trouble, the other guy’s there to bail him out. They’re driving. Put that high and wide from the slot. Another point blank. Now, another point blank shot right on now again trying to bank it off. Helok, who’s lost his stick, gets it back. King center by Field and he was checked there by Baron. And now Shley marches ahead short-handed to the net and he scores. Another short-handed goal by the Jets and it’s 2-2. So the Kings could not be as clean as they wanted to. Shley’s right there. Drive to the net. Four guys on attack and the backhand actually I think goes off a kick. Is it the back checker? No, it’s Anderson. So the shot is really not that dangerous, but it’s the recognition of the puck carrier. We saw it on the goal there by Kee, but that support turned into puck possession. That puck possession turned to an outstanding period for the games. Yeah, Kempe a golden one assists. Three shots, seven attempts and three hits and Kopitar to center. Gets by Moresy out muscles it to the net. Backhander and it’s covered and a penalty called I believe Kopitar draws the miner. Now Kopitar back to the line. Great pass Kasmeo right in tips it by field and that’s blocked by Luke Shen. saved the goal and around now forum [Music] centers it kee one-time what a save by Hobach on Keep from last year carry over to this year the Kings just find the open man makes one move and Morrisy around there’s Shley chased by Cece and then Moresy again long shot. They score. Tipped I beat by Shley and the Jets a 32 lead. The Kings had a chance earlier to get it out. They could have maintained control and then the second counterattack by the Jets was the issue. Watch this though. That shot might be going wide. Shley, he’s in behind and he gets position to get the stick on the puck and almost pull it back towards the net. Yes, it going way wide there. Dropped off by Turkot. Here comes Dumlain. Now a shot by Lefair right on goal and a save by Hellabuk and then Gouty dusted off. That shot blocked by Connor and the puck bounced on him and that’s a break for the Kings as Connor comes in and then Valardi was checked by Leferier and Alex Turkot late on his shift. Chips it in deep. Lefari goes after it. Pounded and knocked down by Shen. Hard hit. Is there some late game magic? No, it’s knocked away and that’s going to do it. And the Jets will hold on and win their first of the season. 3-2 the final. [Music]
Mark Scheifele scored twice, Gabe Viilardi dished out two assists, and Connor Hellebuyck finished with 30 saves to elevate the Winnipeg Jets to a 3-2 victory over the Los Angeles Kings.

67 he said 67 😂😂😂
" That play was lit"
That's better.
Thank god hockey's back!
2:36 6 7
that second LA goal was pure class
Let’s go Jets
8:10 … Amazing play by Luke Schenn. As a Canucks fan, I really miss him on my team.
That's my Jet, Markie!
Nice win, Jets!
Jets are beastly until golfing season.
Hard fought. Well earned
FIRE JIM HILLER!!!!
FIRE JIM HILLER!!!!
Why is there an alien moaning in my ear at 8:12
These Former Blues commentators are a pain to Listen to…..
This is just a small bump in the road towards Corey Perry's journey to losing in another Cup final.
Cody Ceci has a +- of -5 after 3 games. Thanks Holland you effen 🤡
Kuzmenko the best!
Kuemper should have had that 2nd one. It didn't "go off" of Mikey Anderson's knee. He swung his stick at it, but that really didn't change the trajectory of the shot enough to make it go through him. He was cheating pass.
One Man Armia still looking dangerous!
5:50 Absolutely amazing play.
6:05 …
The kings are gonna have a bad season imo.
ts mf REALLY liked the Sev deal huh
8:32 Is another example of Ceci not being worth 4.5 mill a year. He is an offensive specialist who is not that great at offense. There is no context any team should want him to play defense. 2 mill is the most per year he is worth and that is only to the team that just loves his offensive game. He is not worth any more than that because of his defense.
I get why the team wanted to moved on from Blake but Holland giving Ceci that much is the kind of move a GM should fire themselves. When people say non hockey players have no ability to scout compared to former players that just is not true.
Byfield feels so underrated
The first Scheifele goal was NOT short-handed, as the penalty had expired a couple seconds before.
nice win jets
Most Canadians have 2 favourite teams – their own club – and the Jets
Hopefully the Kings can trade Byfield while he still has some value
2:37 he goes what?
Love how every version of this recap of this game does not show the refs making an absolutely terrible penalty call on the jets just before an empty net. Loudest chant in the arena during the game of “ref you suck”
