Which 2010s World Series win was the most impressive in you guys’ opinion

  1. 2012 definitely was the most amazing season

2010 was like a dam bursting and peak Timmy

2014 saw us get carried on MadBum’s back

  2. Maybe 2010? Simply because it was our first since the move and after that we always had that championship-winning experience. Our roster, our front office, and our fan base knew it. It gave us a mental advantage in 2012 and 2014 that we didn’t have in 2010.

  3. 2014 was the most impressive to me. The other two we were division winners, etc. We had complete pitching staffs. 2014 was…..amazing to watch and experience. Bumgarner legitimately cemented himself into the lore of baseball forever

  4. 14. I still go back and watch that game once in a while. That shot of MadBum coming out of the bullpen lives rent free in my head.

  5. 2012, shutdown the best offensive team that year in the World Series for a fucking sweep. I still remember Jim Leyland watching the last strike out & immediately leaving the dugout lol

  6. 2012, we had our backs to the wall in every series leading to the final showdown. But we swept the World Series.

2014, we had decent command throughout every series to the final showdown. But the final showdown went 7 games.

2010, this one is a misfit.

  7. 2012. Sweeping the Tigers team everyone said was going to murder the Giants (that said, 2014 is easily my favorite of the Trilogy).

  8. 2010 will forever give me chills. AND THATS IT! I remember every single detail of that moment. 4 generations of my family got to see that and I’ll never forget the feeling.

  9. Nothing will ever top 2010 for me. I started watching baseball and became a fan around 1987. I waited a long time to see that.

  10. Best to watch? 2014. MadBum was insane and the Ishikawa’s walkoff to send us to the WS was iconic.

Most dominant? 2012. Sweeping the Tigers with that pitching staff was completely unexpected.

  11. 2010 will always be special. So impressive. Never forget. Especially after how bad the Giants were in 2008.

  12. 14 for sure but they were all impressive.

We rode a single starting pitcher to the title that year. Game 7 was the most intense and thrilling sports moment of my life, and I’ve been at it for awhile

2012 was also nuts given how close we were to going home so many times

  13. Gotta be 2012. As good as MadBum was in ‘14 (and Timmy in ‘10), 2012 gave us:

Hunter Pence’s broken bat, triple-hit grounder to short that Englished its way out to left center

Pagan’s double off 3rd base, over the waiting 3rd baseman

    Rally Zito Game 5

Buster’s grand slam against Mat Latos (may he have endless diarrhea forever)

Panda’s 3 homer Game 1 off Forever Giant Verlander

And lastly, Scutaro standing arms outstretched in the rain. Such an iconic image.

AND 2012 was Cain’s perfecto (tip of the cap to Gregor Blanco!!)

  14. 2012 was the most amazing of them all. Down 0-2 to the Reds and looking like the worst team at home, with the weird format of having to go for the last 3 on the road and then getting down 3-1 to the Cards, and then facing Verlander in Game 1 when the rotation has Zito for game 1. If you punch all those in any analytical model to say that’s how it’s all going to set up prior to the playoffs starting, the Giants would probably have less than a 2% chance of actually winning the World Series.

2010 was incredible, but that pitching staff was for real already and even though the bats added for 2010 were rather weak in hindsight, no one wanted to face pitching like that in the postseason, so if the Giants ever made the postseason, they were going to be scary.

2014 was just Mad, but it wouldn’t be Mad without Matt Williams gifting the Giants in the 9th inning of game 2 in the NLDS by pulling Zimmerman. Petit then kept the heart beating enough for Belt to get his chance. I don’t think the Giants win that series if they lose that game.

It’s almost as if Bochy knew he was gifted one in 2014 because 2016 should have been the Giants again, but he felt he needed to gift the Cubs by pulling Matt Moore in a very similar situation as Matt Williams had. Baseball is very mysterious sometimes.

  15. 2010. I had waited my entire life for us to hoist the trophy.

    It’s not even close.

  16. Don’t forget Bochy’s mastery of the pen. Our “closer” in 2014, Santiago Casilla, pitched one inning in a 7 game series. Bochy literally had no confidence in him to close a tight game.
All 3 epic in their own unique way.

  17. 2014 is the stuff of Legends. Bumgarner pitching a complete game shutout and then coming back the night afterwards. His menacing return to pitch six straight scoreless innings just kind of leaves you speechless. He was an absolute marvel in that world series.

  18. Depends on what you mean by “impressive.” The 2012 team was definitely the best team, so they were the most impressive in terms of just being good. But MadBum’s effort in 2014 was the most impressive feat amongst the three titles. The 2010 team probably had to beat the best trio of teams on the way to the title, so that was also very impressive.

  19. 2012. The East Coast bias was real. The lowly San Francisco Giants, coming off one day of rest after Game 7 of the NLCS, were going to be massacred by the well rested Detroit Tigers, who swept the ALCS. Justin Verlander was going to carve up the Giants lineup, Miguel Cabrera, Prince Fielder and the boys were going to light up the Giants pitching staff. Holy airball. Pablo lights up Verlander twice. Game 4 was a battle and a fastball middle/middle freezes Miguel Cabrera who was looking for the slider.

  20. 2012 for me. How the hell do you come back from a 2-0 deficit against that reds team and 3-1 deficit in the nlcs? I’m sure some guys must’ve felt depleted but damn having Hunter pence as a jolt of positivity and energy was huge for them
