NEXT GAME PREVIEW: Boston Bruins vs. Tampa Bay Lightning – 10/13/2025
Welcome back. Let’s take a look at the upcoming schedule for the Boston Bruins continuing on Monday during the day. A matinea game at 1 p.m. Eastern. Then they go on their West Coast road trip. We’ll see if Hampus makes that road trip. That was one of the questions asked to Marco Sturm by Steve Conroy today. He’s going to be reassessed tomorrow. But for now, 300 to start the season and then they hit the road. So, why don’t we uh take a look at Tampa Bay’s Knight playing Devils. Yes. First period, no score. Nico Gisher drives towards the net and after his initial shot is saved. Team Omire is able to poke it past Andre Vaselki and that gritty goal makes it 1- nothing. We’re going to jump to 3-1 Devils now in the second period. Ryan Mcdana fires an absolute rocket past Jacob Marstrom, making it 32. Same score in the third. Tampa on the PP, but a costly turnover sends Yeser Brat on the breakaway. Yeah, he makes no mistake. We’ll put that away. Puts the Devils up 4-2. They go on to win 53 the final. Tampa going to stay at home and fly tomorrow, I’m sure, and then be here for Monday afternoon. Guys, you guys said yes, it’s a great 3 and 0 start to this season, but Tampa’s going to be a big test for them. They are. Uh Tampa didn’t do any major overhaul at all to their team. Even though, you know, they they lost in the playoffs to Florida, which a lot of teams do the last few years. Um I’m really curious to see how they do this year. You know, they’ve they’ve they’re still very high potent offensive team with Cuchov and Point and Gensel, right? Uh Heedman, but are is their D better? I I I think it’s going to be um I don’t think they’re going to be as much of a sizzle team as they are just a smart team. I think they’re one of those teams that says let’s just get into the playoffs as maybe a two or three seed type of thing and then we’ll see. But uh there was, you know, Vasilelescu was injured in training camp. He’s playing now or what he’s held out a bit. But I’m very Barry, I’m very curious to see them live. Yeah, I’m curious to see what type of changes your buddy John Cooper wants to do. He’s one of the top coaches obviously in the National Hockey League and he’ll have some tricks up his sleeves. I think their balance will be tested, right? I think the the uh their studs who have been through the wars are getting a little bit long in the tooth, but they still got talent. Cut off I could watch play every night. He is so strong one-on-one in the corner. He handles the puck so well. He’s got a great release. He’ll go to the dirty areas. He’s worth worth the price of admission. Yeah. How about the Ottawa Centers at the start of the season in the Florida swing? Tampa and Florida. They’re not going down there for the suntan, are they? No. No, they aren’t. But now, Cucherov is special. I think Braden Point is special as well. And obviously Vaselki and Headman are too. So, uh, an afternoon game. We love them here in Boston. I don’t know if we have more. I think we do or at least I think Philly and Boston share the lead for the most matineese, which is so much fun. It is. It’s so much fun. When I worked with Toronto, we never had one ever. I thought it was so weird when I first came here because Toronto, you know, has to do everything, you know, a Monday afternoon with a northeast. That’s now you’re back in Boston. You’re excited. You know why you’re excited? Cuz you get to do a weather report here as well. Yeah.
