Bears Are Linked To A MASSIVE Trade

All right, let’s talk Chicago Bears. This is a team coming out of the buy with a lot of momentum, a lot of energy, a lot of buzz after an 0 and2 start to the season. This Bears offense under Ben Johnson playing a little bit better. They’re trending in the right direction, but the Bears have been recently connected to a massive trade that could shake up a lot of things, not just with Chicago, but the entire NFC. We’ll get to the latest news on that in just one second. But first, I’m Nick and this is Saturday Morning Inspection. All right, the Chicago Bears after starting two and two for the second straight year looking to build on some momentum with a massive matchup of course in week six. But one of the things with the Bears that’s been lurking for a few days now, you know, there’s been some things going around with the rumor villain involving some bigger trades. Obviously, the speculation runs rampant this time of year, but one of the things that really jumps out to me is that when you get the rumors paired with people that just site that are from cold hard data people. So, one of the accounts I really like is Spot Track. They’re a salary cap website, right? That’s really what they do. Transaction website, right? They just they just live off of data and good solid reporting. They don’t they’re not a guy trying to drive engagement or anything like that. They let the numbers and just what the facts do do the talking, right? That’s their whole model and their good website. Highly recommend the spot track folks. So, they came up with a list of top candidates that were on potentially on the trade block this season and then listed their salary cap and and dead cap money and all that information. Again, just for reference for people to use. Uh so I want to pull up this full screen for you guys to see this real quick. Uh this is the list of current NFL training trade candidates cur per uh spot track once again. And number two on the list right there is DJ Moore. And that’s where it’s very very interesting. Obviously Moore has been linked and rumored to a lot of potential different destinations, but a lot of it’s been speculation and rumors. But the fact that Spontra has come out and said and and listed him as one of the guys that’s potentially available, I think that’s a very strong indicator. I’m going to go back to just me right now. And I think one of the things that this is a sign of is that when there’s a lot of smoke, sometimes there’s fire. And I used to not be that way to be totally honest. I used to sit there and say, “Listen, if there’s all these rumors and all these sort of mid-tier social media people and blog sites saying something, it doesn’t matter.” And then we saw what happened with Green Bay and Dallas uh right after training camp with the Micah Parson situation. So now I’m like, “Okay, we got to take if there’s a lot of rumors, got to take it as something that could potentially be serious.” And look, there’s a lot of stuff going on. In fact, let me just pull up one screenshot right here that I took. I went on Google for like 5 seconds, guys. And I just took, you know, a quick snapshot of a bunch of different things just in on DJ Moore and there’s just so many different things going back weeks ago, a couple days ago. Everyone talking about DJ Moore getting traded. People talking about, you know, what the Bears could get for DJ Moore. Other teams, if you look at other team sites, what you know, them trying to get more. The Pittsburgh Steelers have been linked to a wide receiver. DJ Moore is one of them. People talk about the Tennessee Titans getting rid of Jeffrey Simmons for like for like DJ Moore, a guy like that cuz pair with their young quarterback. So there’s a lot of rumors and a lot of speculation and when you pair that with the smart datacentric folks saying listen there’s a real good chance this could happen I think it’s got a decent chance of happening guys. Now look the reality is the Bears are in a tough situation cuz DJ Moore is still a good player but it feels like he’s not integrating into the Ben Johnson offense as well as some other players are like Romo Dunes for example and they still have Cole Kat they still have Coulson Lovelin they still want to run the football they still have Luther Burton right? So they at a certain point you have what I call the one ball problem, right? There’s only one football, right? You can’t it’s like an NBA team, right? You can’t have six scores, right? You just can’t, right? You really can’t have three scores. You got to have a rebounder. You got to have a defender. You got to have a three and D guy. You got to have a point guard ball handler. You got to have a scorer, right? You maybe two scores, but if you start having three or four scores, the offense and everything collapses in basketball. You of course Bears fans, if you’re fans of the Bulls or fans of basketball in general, you of course know exactly what I’m talking about here. And I think right now with DJ Moore, the Bears are feeling that one ball problem. They think now would be a good time to potentially offload him for capital. But that’s where it gets interesting here is what could the Bears get in return. And I think it has to be a player. I’m going to pull up uh what I queried of AI of the last five wide receivers traded in season in the National Football League. Now, it is AI, so take it with a grain of salt right here. This is, you know, I think this is perplexity, the the AI engine I use in this particular instance, but they are prone to hallucinate. So, if there’s any fact check misgivings here, you know, please correct it in the comments section below. But from the AI, I talked about the last five receivers traded was Jaylen Pulk, who was a backup, really wasn’t anybody, so that’s nothing really comparable. Debo Samuel was traded for a fifth round pick. That of course was earlier this year. Uh Mike Williams was traded for a fifth round pick, Hopkins fifth round pick, and Jerry Judy for fifth and sixth round picks. So obviously they all have kind of different kind of vibes to them, but I think the Hopkins Samuel Williams is close. Although I think Moore is better now than you know guys like Samuel are at this point in their career. But you can make an argument that that’s kind of especially where DJ Morris cap hit sits. What the Bears would get in return in terms of draft capital or at least ballpark, right? They may get a fifth and a sixth. They may get a fourth. They may get, you know, a fourth and a seventh, but they’re not getting a second round pick. They’re not getting a third round pick. I mean, if if you if that if they do, that’s great. I mean, certainly you take it, but it just doesn’t seem likely. So, then it comes down to Bears fans. That’s my question for you is, is it worth it? Right? Is it worth getting some defensive tackle depth? Maybe a good player. I maybe Simmons for more. Maybe that makes sense. Talk about the Tennessee Titans, Jeffrey Simmons. I mean, there there’s a lot of smoke here. And I think a trade could be percolating. Ryan Poles, you know, year one of Ben Johnson. Now’s the time to offload talent that doesn’t integrate into Johnson’s offense cuz the worst thing you want to have happen is DJ Moore, let’s say, play off the rest of the season and just finish the year with disappointing numbers and just uh just just becomes less valuable. In fact, I’m going to while I’m talking to you guys, I’m going to try and extrapolate out DJ Moore statistics for the rest of the season if he carries out the the rest of the way it’s projected. So, he’s still projected right now to get 68 catches for 735 yards and four touchdowns, right? That’s pretty darn good, right? That’s that’s solid. But if you look at DJ Moore, you know, the last few seasons, right, 96 catches, 98 catches, right? So he goes from being a Pro Bowl, like almost 100 catch season, like worth a lot to a guy catching 70 balls a season on the decline, trending in the down direction, your value drops significantly. So now for the Bears, is the now the best time to trade him if he’s not integrating? I think it makes sense. This is one of these trades that I think when push comes to shove, it’s just too good of a deal for the bears to potentially not do it in terms of getting a lot of value, right? Or at least as much value as they can. Now, I like DJ Moore. I think he’s a good player, and I think he can potentially integrate into this offense, but let’s be totally honest here. Williams and Odun, they have that connection with Ben Johnson. We know Coloulston Lovelin’s going to get opportunities. The Bears are going to want to run the football and try and do it better eventually, right? Johnson is really trying to hammer that home. And they got a bunch of other guys as well. Luther Burden’s a young, cheap, talented wide receiver, of course, rookie out of Missouri. At a certain point, you got the one ball prom, and you got to make a move. You got to make a play. And I think trading DJ Moore, there’s this much smoke. There’s got to be a lot of fire. I think honestly it makes too much sense to not make this kind of trade. All right, Bears fans, I’m curious what you have to say about this. So, let us know in the comment section below. Are you open to trading DJ Moore? And if so, for what? What would you consider? Like, is is a fifth and a six round pick not nearly enough? Do you want a certain player? Right? Is there any objections you have? Any concerns you have? Give us all thoughts and opinions you have when it comes to the Bears and potentially trading DJ Moore and what they could get in return. Put it in the comment section below. Because it’s one of those things with the Bears and and you just look at this team, you have to make a decision of are they a win now team in terms of they’re in full-on full speed title mode like now or are you trying to build a young core together? And if you look at this division to be totally honest, you look at the Detroit Lions win now mode now. Of course, the the Packers obviously are, right? Because they traded their next two first round picks and a lot of cap space for Parson. So if you look at the Bears, year one under Ben Johnson, do you want to win? Absolutely. But what’s more important? To win 10 games in 2025 and then win 10 games in 2026 and win nine games in 2027, let’s say theoretically, which three good seasons, three winning seasons? You’d probably take that or trade DJ Moore and win say seven games in 2025 and then 11 in 2026 and then 13 and be the number one number two seed in 2027, right? I take door number two personally, right? Because if you look at by 2027, the Packers, they they’ll feel the hit of their cap their cap issues with how much money they’re paying Parsons and love. They won’t have the first round picks. The Lions will be older, right? They’re still going to be they’re a good football team this year. They’ll be good next year, but eventually the wear and teal and they’ll feel the cap as well cuz they’re going to have to throw a lot of money at Hutchinson. The Bears are Caleb Williams will still be cheap. They’ll have all this young talent. They’ll been playing together for a few years under Ben Johnson’s offense. I think you make the play for a little bit long-term strategy. Maybe you trade DJ Moore and get some assets and allow these young core to work together and pick up some capital along the way. I think it makes sense. I think it would actually be a really smart move for Ryan Pulse to make. You guys may disagree and again feel free to give your comments below, but uh I think this is making too much sense for the Bears to not at least heavily heavily explore, but let’s get into the matchup this weekend. Right, so we’ve got the Bears against the Commanders. One of the more one more fun games, right? Uh obviously last season’s game was kind of wild between these two squads. It was sort of a ugly defensive, you know, slugfest, but it was kind of a poorly played game between two young quarterbacks for three quarters and then the Bears and and really both offenses kind of woke up and the Bears pulled it out seemingly at the end only to give up that last second Hail Mary, which of course derailed the Bears season. So, you better believe Chicago’s out for blood. I mean, I guarantee there’s a lot of people right now that want to prove what happened last year with Washington as a total fluke. But what’s interesting, and I’ve got it pulled up on the screen here, is uh the predictions per ESPN analytics, the matchup predictions. And right now they have Washington with a 65.3 chance to win, percent chance to win. Uh Chicago sits at 34.4. Obviously there’s a very small percentage of a tie, which is certainly very possible uh as we’ve learned this season in the National Football League with the overtime rules. But right here, the Commanders are almost 2 to1, right? Like like the the Bears at 34, Washington at 65. Not quite 2 to1, pretty close based on ESPN analytics. Uh considering Washington’s also a two- loss team. And now look, they had a really good win against against the Chargers and and that’s fine, right? They did good there down the stretch, but I really think this Washington defense is susceptible. And I think it’s I think they’re a good group. They’re a spunky group, right? They’re feisty. Dan Quinn hasn’t played hard, but it’s one of those things. They’re so susceptible if you can run on them at all and if you can get them in space. And Ben Johnson has played against this Dan Quinn style defense before. Obviously, it didn’t go great for the Commander or didn’t go great for the Bears against the Commanders last year in the postseason when Ben Johnson was leading up to charge for Detroit, but they moved the football all over that defense. It just came down to takeaways and the fact that Detroit defense couldn’t stop anybody, right? Ben Johnson had the number of Dan Quinn’s defense for sure. For sure. And I think we can expect a similar thing this weekend if or I should say Monday if big if here the Bears can run the football. I think you’ve got a good chance to do that because you’ve got a group right here for Washington. They’re a little light. They rely on Bobby Wagner to make all the plays at linebacker. If you can attack them and get some big plays early and then run the football in the third quarter, I can see this game trending sort of almost like the Cowboys game earlier this season, right? I think it has a good chance to be that kind of performance for the Bears, at least how they look on the field. But when you go into the odds makers, here’s where it kind of gets even more interesting. The Commanders are a 4 and 1/2 point favorite at home. Um, now four and a half points at home is sort of basically the sports book saying the Commanders have a slightly better roster, about one and a half points better. Uh, the home team in the National Football League usually gets plus three points. So you can see here, Commander’s favored by 4 and a half. So the sports book say Washington a point and a half better. Again, we’re so early in the season still. I know it’s week six, but there’s a lot of these odds that are just based a lot of what happened last year, right? They look at the Bears last year, not a good record. The Commanders did have a good record. So a lot of these oddsmakers are really heavily weighted toward what have you done for me? Not lately, but what did you do for me last year? It’s one of the reasons why, for example, the Chiefs are actually home favorites against the Detroit Lions this uh Sunday night. Even though the Lions have looked good this year and the Chiefs have not, right? A lot of these odd makers are still they’re waiting for more data of the 2025 season before they adjust. You really don’t get that until week eight or week nine. So, I think that’s why the spread is as big as it is. But one thing that’s interesting is that the overunder has creeped up a little bit. Uh I think the people are expecting more offense and and I would too right now. Obviously, the Bears making some changes on the offensive front. We’ll have to see this offensive line, tackle position, see what they do there. That’s been a a obviously a very serious position of concern, but I like the Bears here. Look, I don’t know if they pull this out or not, but I really think they’re going to play well. I I really think if they can take care of the football and kind of allow Ben Johnson, his offense to get into a little bit of a rhythm, generate some big plays, right? Coming out of the buy, right, get the juice going early, I think starting fast is going to be critical because of this Commander team with Daniels, they’re there’s such a momentum and vibes team, right? Now, they can turn it on a dime and go from being, you know, bad vibes to good vibes. But if you can keep them off balance, right? You know, you know, score big plays, you know, create some offense and then mix in some long drives, it just they they’re all about vibes and feels over the course of the game. They want a game, get into a flow, and then they can, you know, build some momentum. But if you keep them off balance, you can really dominate them. That’s what Philadelphia did in the NFC Championship game last year and dropped 55 on them, right? Again, it’s very, very doable. this commanders team. They do a lot of things well, but they’ve got a lot of serious flaws. I think Ben Johnson coming out of the buy has a great chance to exploit them. I think it’s going to be a heck of a game, and I think the Bears got a great chance here to pull off the upset.

The Chicago Bears are coming out of the bye with a lot of momentum. But that doesn’t mean the Bears are done making moves. IN fact, the Bears have been recently linked to a massive trade. Fans of the Chicago Bears should be excited by this news.

  1. if the bears beat the commanders, then they have very winnable games ahead of them. They could win several in a row… then a trade to add on makes sense. But addition by subtraction comes in the offseason.

  2. Moore is still wr 1 on the bears! Caleb and Moore dont mesh and had alot of drama in the locker room last year.I think its more of only 1 to 2 reads from Caleb and Moore and Kmet are not Calebs reads

  3. Yeah, go ahead and trade them. We need an edge rusher and DJ has not performed very great before his cap starts falling. With Ben Johnson we win now team and I think we’re gonna get it. Take a third round pick.

  4. Bro this is pro football. Today's teams can and needs more than 3 ballers . If they can afford it why shouldn't they have 3 more. Injuries happen; being ready means getting ready is not so hard in doing so.

  5. Trading your 3rd or 4th best player is really not a path to go.
So, The Bears will need to get a top dollar in return or it's not worth it. I would trade Swift, Kmet, Loveland, Burden, Dayo probably Sweat before thinking about dumping Moore.
Plus, 4th, 5th, 6th round picks are really crappy returns… especially when your GM is in the bottom tier of the league at drafting and signing free agents.
Ryan Poles really only has 3 or 4 smart moves a year! He already has 2 with hiring Johnson and trading for Thuney.

  6. I’m sorry trade for Jeffrey Simons with Grady jarret and a 3rd round pick and then trade for maxx Crosby give raiders Montez sweat and a second round pick don’t know how much salary u would have left after that

  7. DJ for Simmons hell yes DT is a trench player and he is a beast DT rotation of Simmons and Dexter Sr. Then Jarrett and Billings. Interior pressure destroys offense.edges just have to set to not allow escape. Ask KC they know Eagles pressured up the middle.

  8. People forget if we trade DJ, more attention goes to Rome, why is it when players had a few bad games everyone is ready to trade them, DJ is a force! Its a new offense let's give it the season before we do anything crazy!

  9. DJ's new contract is very affordable. This makes him both a very good asset and either a keeper OR a trade candidate, where potential trading partners would be very attracted to his affordable contract.

Otherwise, I would prefer to keep DJ, rather than lose him for talent on Defense. Is there something else we can move? Picks?
