Sharks Blow Lead Again Lose to Ducks in Overtime

In what is quickly becoming a trend for the San Jose Sharks, they enter the third period with a lead. They blow said lead and lose it in overtime. This time to the Anaheim Ducks. I’m JD Young of Locked on Sharks. And the Sharks lose seven to six and an absolute barn burner to the Anaheim Ducks. Uh Minelrini’s three points weren’t enough as again the Sharks still cannot learn how to close out a game. Ascrov had some ups and downs in his first game. John Clingberg was an absolute mess in the defensive zone. Uh, and the Sharks continue to carry over the same issues that they had last year of their inability to close out a game. We’ll have more on your next episode of Lockdown Sharks, including Sam Dickinson’s NHL debut, wherever you get podcast. And of course, you can watch on YouTube as well.

Macklin Celebrini’s three points were not enough as the San Jose Sharks found another way to lose a lead late and fall in overtime. Yaroslav Askarov was inconsistent in his season debut, and the Sharks’ defense didn’t do him any favors as they lost 7-6 in OT.

  1. So fuckin frustrating. Askarov needs to be better. Unlikely you ever win a game being outshot 2 to 1 sane old from last year. BUT if you told me wed have 2 points after 2 games against vgk and ana to start the year I’d honestly take it.

  2. So I have to say this. Sharks please stop taking your foot off the gas with 12 minutes to go because you have a lead. If you clear the puck for 12 minutes letting the other team come at you over and over you’re gonna lose. They did the same thing last year and ended up with the most third period loses. Coaches if you’re protecting the lead with 12 minutes to go? If your coaching the team to do this? You need to be fired. For god sake play to win and score more goals. Us fans can handle a hard played loss. Giving the puck to other team for 12 minutes and getting it rammed down your throat. Stupid!

  3. Warsofsky has gotta go. He's the link to last years blown games and this year's. The players are different.
They got outshot 2 to 1 at home to another team that didn't make the playoffs last year.

  4. Celebrini 3 assists, but where is the mention that he didn’t end up with positive +- and cost the game with the turnover? These are the kind of things that Bedard has been critizised for. Macklin has been praised from heaven to the earth. Time for the scrutiny standards to be higher as well.
