Here they are on the attack looking to end it and he keeps it alive. What a stop. Side steps the kick. Turns him away up along the wing. Grab by Paneran. Here they come on the attack. Shot and it goes off the iron and stays out. The Rangers are still at even here. They had an opportunity to go up by one, but unfortunately they hit the pipe again. Can’t connect. Good use of the body on that gave a stick. Oh, we are still tied. What a stop. A ton of connected play on both sides of the puck right now. Generating a ton of speed and offense. Both teams looking to score goals. High danger scoring chances. Coaches don’t like this one because there’s not a lot of defense. [Applause] This is a face off they’ll definitely want to win here inside the offensive zone. Washington’s got it and they’re on the attack. Oh, that’s a great shot block there. Well, yeah. I mean, it’s great a scoring chance and you want to make sure that you get in front of that one and he did. He gets all of it. Oh, look at this chance. Shot and there’s the save. Covers it up and we’ll get a stoppage in play. A critical draw here. Croch won the draw deep in the defensive zone. Picks up the puck at his own end. The Rangers take it along the wall. Just slide to the net. The Capitals gain control of the puck. Washington’s moving it into the offensive end and he gets in front of that. Well, a nice save by the goalender and even better is that he redirects the puck to the corner to safety. The Rangers played along the boards looking to end it and he denies him with a monstrous save here in overtime. Thompson’s tracking the puck extremely well right now. Just have a look at that last save to be able to get in front of that puck to be able to keep it out of the net. Outstanding performance by him on that last one. [Applause] A lot on the line here in this offensive zone faceoff. The Rangers win that offensive zone faceoff. The Capitals played along the boards. New York’s looking to break out of their own end. Look out. Here they come on the attack. Oh, he’s dialed in tonight. What a save on that one. Oh, what an open shot. James shows incredible quickness right there as he makes one and then the second save. Slides the diagonally to Sandine. Pop moved over to Dubis. Oh, he had the answer on that one. Dubis got it along the wing. Stopped by the goender. Picked up along the wall by Sandine. Picked up by Schneider. Quick feed to Bronzinski. Intercepts it at center. Tries to get the puck over to Sandine. Slides it across. Kovichkin. New York’s got it in their own zone. Along the boards, they battle for the puck back and forth. The Capitals gain possession along the wall. Here’s the pass through. Great defensive play to pick off the pass. Dumps it in. Taken along the wall by Troche. Here’s a chance. Oh, saved it. What a stop. Now that’s desperation at its finest to be able to get to that puck and sending a clear message to his team that he’s behind them. He’s going to be the foundation tonight. Oh, and a nice play to free up the puck there. Washington’s got it now. New York’s got the puck. Grabbed along the board by Kohley. That knocks him off the puck. The Rangers will play from the defensive zone. Here we go. You knew that they were going to respond after he got clipped. They have to respond, James. It’s the right thing to do. If your star player gets bone crushed or clipped, you have to find a way to answer and respond for them. right on the button and this thing’s over. Oh, he got his bow on. He really connected on that one. Hockey is played at high levels and it’s so intense and sometimes frustrations and emotions boil over and this fight is a result of that. But the winning team is going to be the home team and you can feel it in the building. All the energy has been built for the home team. The Rangers come up with the defensive zone draw. Paner stay the line and on the attack. The Rangers gain control of it. The couples get a hold of the puck on the boards. [Applause] [Applause] What a way to count. Well, he does it all on this play, James. And he’s going to get rewarded by his coach and the entire team. I mean, he starts the entire thing with breaking up a play, with intercepting and finding a way to gain speed and get it to the net. If it doesn’t get it to the net, he finishes it off as well. And time for the fans to get in on the celebration with the stick salute. This is a great tradition, James, as they all stick around in anticipation of this salute. A nice thank you to the fan base. Well, that’ll do it for all of us here at EA Sports. I’m James Solowski, and we will see you next time from Ringside.
