[Aaronson] Nick Nurse seemed optimistic talking about the idea of Joel Embiid and Adem Bona playing together. He said that in those lineups, Embiid is the four and Bona is the five. Highlighted high-low passing, rebounding and rim protection as areas where that pairing can thrive.

  1. Embid as the power forward would be a RIDICULOUS weapon, especially with the way Bona plays defense and shot blocks

  2. Lol yeah this is a terrible idea. How many times are we gonna try this? Embiid-Nerlens, Embiid-Horford, Embiid-Drummond, Embiid-Bona.

It never works. Embiid and 4 shooters. This is the way.

  3. He’s a much better passer and 3pt shooter now so as long as they can scheme it so he doesn’t have to guard 4s on the wing it’d be cool to see.

  4. There’s no reason not to try. If it helps keep Joel from doing the dirty work of banging with centers and helps with rebounding I’m all for it. If it doesn’t work it doesn’t work.

The games matter, but it’s not like this is college football. We can use real games to try shit.

  5. To everyone being so much against it. It’s different, than in the past, because it’s basically to preserve Embiid on both ends of the floor, allowing him to play less physical.

Regular season will be long and we should at least give it a shot.

  6. About to get cooked by small ball teams that can shoot efficiently. Average and below teams from 3 won’t stand a chance though.

  7. There’s no way that’s on BOTH sides of the court. Joel as 4 on offense is elite! But on defense?

Would makes for Bona to be the 4 on defense and have Joel be the 5
