Good contact, but it’s right at Rodriguez for out number one. And the pitch from Miller. Popped up shallow center and it’s Palanco. with the second baseman back to make the catch. Kirk retired for out number two. Not on the first pitch. This one is sent to center deep but playable and Rodriguez will make the catch. And that’s an awful lot like the New York Yankees. Fast ball in the air left field. Santandere one and that is clearly strike three Cole. Didn’t leave any doubt in that one. Did he just reared back and the one two pitch strike three call three up, three down with a couple of strikeouts for Kevin Gosman. Got him for his career in the second on the appeal. Yes, he did. Ben May down at first as Rodriguez went around and that strike out number four for Gossman 02 and Miller just staying with that high fast ball to activate him for the division series but they saw those quality at bats even though he didn’t have great numbers in Buffalo and put him on the roster but it’ll buy him another pitch. Miller gets him. Boy, Bryce Miller is delivering right now for the Mariners through five. It is still one to nothing. Mostly fast ball splitter of course. And there’s the split together. Two down. He is absolutely dealing here in the middle innings. And he might have just hit it out and he absolutely did. Hits it into the bleachers in right center to tie the game. again the 3-2 line drive left field base hit and the Mariners have the lead. One and two and Little gets Naylor but Palanco got Little for the go-ahead run. Baro going back on the track off the top of the wall. Backed up by Straw the one two and he got it. A strike out for a big second out for the Blue Jays tonight. Oh, what a catch. A Rose Arena comes on and makes a shoestring catch to end the inning. But Randy Rose Aarena had other ideas. End of seven, 2-1 Seattle. You can see Jimenez right up the middle basically. And he went around. He got fooled there. And Raleigh strikes out. Julio Rodriguez. Runner goes and the ball goes right by Kirk to the back stop. It’ll be a stolen base. There he goes. And there’s no throw. A Rosa steals second and third. Spent most of his career with the Minnesota Twins. Ground ball that will sneak through into right for a base hit and it’ll knock in a Rose Arena with the Mariners third run of the night. Come out the two two again. He got it. So Flu Hardy does his job and the O2 strike three and this is popped up shallow left center. The catch made by Rose Arena and that will do it. The Mariners come into the Rogers Center and they defeat the Blue Jays 3 to one to take game one here in this best of seven.

George Springer kicked things off with a leadoff home run, but the Toronto Blue Jays were unable to capitalize on the momentum as they fell 3-1 to the Seattle mariners in Game 1 of the ALCS.

  3. John and Pete , when ur starter is rolling , DO NOT THROW A GUY UP IN THE BULLPEN , and suck the LIFE out of his start. LOOK how many balls he threw and his results after noticing VARLARD active in the pen , for NO REASON. WTF P.S at 55 or so pitches, cruze control, OR NOT

  12. This east coast bias is ridiculous. All the experts who act like they know the Mariners are full of it. This was the Mariners 5th starter. That means it gets better. Mariners won something like
    17 of 18 games and were a ½ inning away from winning 18 in a row in the month of September. So no the Mariners didn't steal this game? The better team won this game.

  13. The fact that they were uncharacteristically–and irritatingly–hitting pop fly outs, tells me that it was less about the Mariners, but more about the Jays having a self-induced brain fart. When do you see the Jays just get 2 hits? Not able to square up balls? Figure it out.

  20. Schneider has to trust his eyes and quit being so damn analytical. Gausman had no business coming out of that game. He threw one bad pitch. Let your veteran starters work out of a jam for Christ sake.

  23. It’s Ok. I’m not being disrespectful but this will be the only game the mariners win this series. The Blue Jays are a team of destiny. The will be in the World Series.
