Eh, he’s a d man with 5 years of RFA still left he didn’t have too much of a negotiational leg to stand on. Are we saying he’s less valuable than Jackson LaCombe?
We’re going to be at this forever, aren’t we?
I’m happy Kap signed for any amount of money.
Kirill took a team friendly deal because he’s worth at least 25m a year
I mean, Hutson wasn’t in line to get Kaprizov money. If anything, he got more than Brock did
You’re comparing apples to oranges. A 21 year old defenseman coming off his rookie season is way different than a 28 year old forward with 5 years in the league. Hutson’s deal is more along the lines of Faber’s deal last year. If his trajectory continues upward, it’ll be a great deal for the team. If he stagnates, the Hutson will be glad he took the long term money. These post rookie season deals have a lot of team risk in them.
This just makes the Faber deal look phenomenal
Kap knows it’s on him now, and I’m fine with that.
