Great QBs will keep their eyes downfield and try to get the ball out of throw it away. Trevor immediately dropped his eyes to the free rusher and the play was dead 2s before he got sacked.

looking like mr lahey out there
I always had my reservations about Walker Little. The guy couldn’t displace Cam Robinson here, and while Cam wasn’t bad, I found it odd that we gave such a huge extension to a guy that started more at guard for us than Tackle.
I believe 4 of the 6 sacks came from his side yesterday, and the damning thing is very few were blitzes. Most were stunts that they teach in college or good HS ball
That guy is 5’11 ~230lb, what the fuck Walker
A starting NFL LT should not be thrown to the side like that ever. Much less by a guy that size.
Show the things that Trevor actually has control over: overthrows. I’m so sick of our big receivers needing to catch balls with their fingertips. One the announcers specifically called out was a throw to BT on a curl. If he hits him in the chest, BT would be able to turn it upfield
I know LT is hard to replace, but I legitimately never want to see him play for my team again
The Trevor discussion can be way more nuanced than this.
The O-Line did not help him one bit yesterday but he also can play better at the same time. He whiffed on some easy ones.
There are some people in this fanbase who hate on him way too much but he’s not infallible, he can be criticized
Absolutely *shameful* rep
So Lawrence isn’t trash?
Ya’ll kill me when ya’ll choose a small sample size. Let’s look at all six games played. Trevor has been mediocre
Anyone who has a single shred of knowledge about ball can see we got DOMINATED in the trenches yesterday. That plus numerous drops and special teams blunders, is why we lost that game.
Trevor can only do so much. Everyone has to do their jobs.
Meanwhile I’m cursing out Walker Little and begging he get traded next, all while explaining to my Colts fan sister why Trevor pisses me off because he throws it to his receivers like theyre all 7 foot tall or better but that is mostly because hes running and off balance because our line is ass most of the time so its not really him, but he do be pissing me off but its mostly not him lol
What scares the shit out of me is that there is a narrative going around that “Hainsey is the glue of this line”. What does the center have anything to do with with the LT getting tossed like that?
OL got him killed Sunday
With that said, everyone here and elsewhere always expects to have the absolute best across the OL. Walker Little is decent. Decent is better than most. OL play in general leaguewide is bad. Guys get beat. DL has to eat sometimes too. You can’t always have Tony Boselli.
Some games you just get whooped. Pass blocking has been very good to amazing for most of the season so far.
I mean, if that OL blocked him fo unlimited time Trevor will just throw it over the receivers head for a impossible catch or the receiver will just drop it.
Trev played good enough to win yesterday. A lot of team mistakes
Just because other players play poorly doesn’t mean that you can completely absolve the QB of any responsibility for his play. This sub is so irritating with how protective and sometimes delusional y’all can get when it comes to Trevor. I wish we could just be honest about him whether he plays well or plays poorly.
For this game, he missed some throws that he should have made. For example, there was one downfield (30 yards or so) pass to Brown early on in the game that he should have made…this was before he had been sacked and he was not under a lot of pressure. I’d say the majority of starting QBs in the league would have completed that pass. Does that mean that we lost the game because of him? No, of course not. But it is certainly a pattern with him.
Are we only allowed to criticize him when the coaching is solid, wide receivers are catching everything, running game is in tact, and OL doesn’t allow any pressure? Cause if that’s the case, trevor is pretty much beyond critique.
Wow I can’t wait to have this discussion every day for the next few years…
I just don’t see the merit in debating this anymore, barring him suddenly retiring or falling off a cliff in performance, he’s cemented as the starter until 2027. If you want to drive yourself insane meticulously dissecting every facet of his play, that’s your prerogative but it seems like wasted effort to me.
Walker little is an extra large trash can and I’ve been screaming it all year
Exactly he was pressured on every drop back in that game, the o line was like a leaky facet. Am I saying Trevor is a top 5 or even 10 QB not right now but throw Josh Allen back there and he would not have done much better
Go ahead and post the plays from yesterday where he’s sailing the ball 2 yards over guys heads or throwing it at their ankles.
Giants fan here, T Law reminds me a lot of Daniel Jones when he was still on the Giants. I think if you can get a really good line / supporting cast he could thrive.
Horrible pass blocking but TLaw did not react well to it. He had 2 choices: throw it or try a stiff arm, and he did neither. Flat footed there is no chance he can just side step the defender like he tried to do. Meanwhile a stiff arm would work wonders since he is like 6’6”
What kills me is that it’s Year 5 and we still have to see these posts after every single loss like he’s the only QB to ever have awful OL play
May I have a crumb of nuance here?
The OL as a unit performed poorly yesterday. Until yesterday, the unit had been performing better than the sum of its parts and having a backup rookie center in the game seemed to break down the cohesion. Ideally the OL functions like one organism whereas yesterday there were five individuals and sending more pass rushers than they could block was pretty much a guaranteed throwaway or worse.
Trevor Lawrence at this point has about equal parts “getting held back by drops, penalties, and bad OL play” and unforced errors like poor footwork leading to errant throws. He still has a ton of upside, and as he is now, is a QB with whom you can win. It’s not wrong to speak objectively about it
The Lawrence discourse is so incredibly irritating because the loudest fans hate him for the dumbest of reasons. I saw multiple people in the game thread saying “he can’t take that sack” talking about this exact play. I agree, sacks are bad, but explain how this is Trevor’s fault? I see people complaining he made the offensive line look worse by being slow through progressions. Folks, this isn’t Madden. Trevor can’t see the field top down. He cannot go through progressions with immediate pocket collapse. The only thing you can do in that situation is throw it to your hot read, but Seattle knew this and pressed the hots. Things don’t happen in vacuums.
He isn’t an elite QB. I don’t think anyone thinks he is. He is the 15th ranked QB give or take 2-3 spots in either direction depending on the week. He has the potential to be a top 10 QB, but he isn’t there yet. This is what most fans think.
I know yesterday was a loss, but from a purely QB perspective this was his best game of the season.
Good ole Lalker Litlle special 🔥🧱
Boselli would have thrown that LB back to college.
And I don’t don’t mean back in his prime.
“Okay but why didn’t he throw the ball for a TD in that .4 seconds?” – 45% of the gameday thread
Straight got punked lmaoooo. Him next Gladstone, please. People in here STILL talking down on trev lmaooooo “but but but trev bad!” Someone said he should have “stiff armed” this dude off him and then throw a pass LMFAOOOOO
I said this yesterday and will say it again. You have people who think Trevor can do no wrong and then you have people who think Trevor does everything wrong.
The truth is that Trevor is ok. He is a middle of the road QB. That means he isn’t going to be a player that’s going to elevate a bad team and most things around him need to be great for him to be successful consistently. He isn’t a guy that can cary a team on his back
He definitely has great moments but he has some bad moments.
Yesterday he had some good moments but yes he did have overthrows. The OL was absolutely horrible. I out this loss on them more than any position group. There was one key drop. I thought the Jags should have done more rollouts since the blocking was so bad
Defense did good enough to give us a chance to win but we were exposed. Injuries to Lloyd and Walker really hurt the defense
He definitely should have uncorked a 70
Yard bomb and then ran down and caught it after pass blocking the free rusher from hitting his lineman. T-Law’s fault.
Maybe he should have lined up as LT, pancaked the rusher, then ran back and took a backwards toss from the RB who would have received the snap and then launched the 70-yard bomb.
Or…maybe he should have been better at personnel scouting and identified a better LT option.
Either way RELEASE him and let’s go find a bum that can block, throw, and scout in his place.
Off with his head!
Walker Little got blasted by someone 1/2 his size.
It used to be common knowledge that a qb will always be blamed for everybody else’s mistakes. Yet people never became self aware about it. Luckily most of the time the staff know. Hopefully the jags do good this year. Pretty good start overall.
NGL yall are delusional about dude
But what happened in 6 days? Our Monday night game had a different o line?
$15,000,000 for trash.🗑️
We’ve got that idiot for __TWO MORE YEARS.__
His line sucks but he’s also not that good.
“Idiot! He should have thrown it away!!” – 2/3 of the game thread
Holy shit he looks like he is doing a SLAPSTICK comedy act or something with they way he gets absolutely thrown backwards by a dude half his size. That is just bad. Oh and how bout 55 getting back to back drive killing penalties and then being subbed out. Our line overplayed the first 4 games. We are seeing what they really are now. I injuries don’t help but wow this is bad
Trevor ain’t trash but he’s not good either. He doesn’t process quickly. He’s inaccurate. He doesn’t trust him self to even throw the ball away. He seemingly has the yips on occasion and can’t trust the deep read because wr hasn’t beat his guy by 20 yards. He has a dynamic and explosive 2nd pick overall unicorn wr and hasn’t thrown 1 TD to him. He expects 4 seconds of protection at all times. He has zero anticipation and rarely if ever throws his receiver open. WRs do not get YAC here because the qb throws rocket passes 10 feet away and 10 feet high basically doing the defense a favor and ending the play there instead of allowing the wr to run after the catch. But omg he drops 1 pass in the bucket 38 yards down field into tight coverage and he’s our guy. Gtfo.
Little was too worried about being late to his right, he over extended his upper body and got over his feet, that move by the Seahawk defender means they saw him doing this consistently enough to exploit it.
