NHL Highlights | Blues vs. Canucks – October 13, 2025

Well, he’ll play his first game. Demco’s been through the first two for the Canucks, but it’s Lanin’s turn here tonight. We’re underway from Vancouver. Then Evander Kane will tip it into the St. Louis end. Say the Conucks have it at center ice and Carnegar plays it back to Philip Heronic. He’ll wind it in. Jordan Bennington loves to play it. That one got by him and Jordan Kyro to move it to Brad and Sh. They’ll break up ice with Dylan Holloway. Chen driving wide. His shot blocked off the glass. Braden Shannon his third year as the Blues captain. Kyu broken up at center. Here’s Connor Garland. His shot went on the outside of the net. [Music] A face off in the St. Louis and say the Blues coming off. They lost their opener at home to Minnesota and then they won their next game at Calgary. Meyers with a wrist shot and that caught the post. They certainly are. And here’s a look at a good chance by the Canucks. There’s the big man Tyler Myers coming in. rips this right off the bar and they’re looking for his 100th career goal. Mostly giving his team the lead. Yeah, there’s no secret how both these teams get feed down and Brock Peser Patterson fanned on that pass. Off Cam Fowler to skate it out. Four men up ice for the Blues. Here’s Snugaroo on the wing who centered it just out of the reach of Sudter. Now Snugaroo with a rush shot and he scores. The puck came right back and Jimmy Snugaroo buries it to get the Blues on the board first to shut down the rush of St. Louis. But this is how it comes. Comes from Valor. A turnover in the offensive zone. Quick little play. Puck to the net. And then it’s puck recovery. Just get it back down low as Nugaroo gets it. Able to go short side on Lanken and a quick strike here as the Blues grab the one- nothing lead. Yeah, great call there Shane. Beautiful play there by Sudter. Hugh is no different here in Vancouver. When your best player is your hardest working player, most competitive, that’s a good thing. Besser with a chance after Bennington turned it over. Going to tie this one up. Bennington gives it away, but it’s the recovery by Bennington as Leas Person knocks it down. He finds Besser. Turned away by Lankan. Thomas zips it across. Faulk walking in the backhand. And Len made the save here tonight. You look at fall down below the goal line after that opportunity. Tries to tuck it in five wall. Kane will clear it out. Garland leads the rush. They have some time. Kane down the wing. Puts it towards the net. Bington made the save and the rebound out of the way by Thomas. That’s hit for the opening period. Oh, Kane just throwing this puck to the net. Sometimes just simplify it and it just goes past the stick of Garland trying to knock it in. Good stick by Robert Thomas defensively as there’s a look at that puck coming down and I think it’s Thomas able to swipe it away as his team has the one- nothing lead. There’s breaking the hitch record and there was really breaking the hitch record, right? Got broken the year before by Jeremy Loausan at 383 and then yeah all of a sudden just smashed it going to 462. Second period underway. Teams will started at five aside. Did not have a penalty called in the first. Kane feeds it across just out of the reach of Philip Hel. Matthew Joseph racing up ice down the wing. His shot off the crossbar right by the Vancouver Conucks right there in the offensive zone. And that Lisa Joseph rumbling down that left side. And does he ever rip that one? That was a heater. Marcus Person funnels it down the glass and it kicks around for Broberg. lead pass and Kyu. Kyru has a step. He was caught him. Kyra Kyru still has a sh with a chance and he scores. Great patience by Kyru and he found Brandon Shen who buried it and it’s two nothing Blues. Throwberg a beautiful play as Kyro gets behind everybody and then patience. He was able to get back that buys a little bit of time and then the pass to Sheno Connor thought he broke it up but not enough. And the captain of the Blues passed the glove hand to Lankan and all of a sudden St. Louis up two nothing. How about the patience and the puck protection by Kyu? I would have shot that puck three different times. Ratu keeps it alive. Here’s Sherwood. Had to slide it right back to Ratu. Beans bouncing puck down low. Sherwood a backhand and he scores deep for Sherwood and a careerhigh 19 last year and he has two this season. Oh, I was just going to say this has been the best line for Vancouver. Another chance and then just drive to that hard area as he gets to the front of that able to receive that pass and chip it with a backhand upstairs as Ratu finds him and give the Canucks some life. That’s a big play there by Sherwood and you touched on it. NHL record in hits. This power play is brought to you by the new season of Tulsa King. Now streaming exclusively on Paramount Plus. The Conucks have been perfect on the penalty kill so far this year. Nine for nine. Bers trying to change that and they do as Sugaroo scores. He tucks in the loose puck on the power play. It’s his second of the game and St. Louis back up by two. said the pressure as the Cox get caught behind. It’s a quick little two on in front. Good work by Bush Navic to bring this puck out as Meyers going for it. It’s the pressure. Shen knocks it away. Bushnavic brings it out and Snugaroo able to elevate that puck into the top of the net. Yeah, that’s all Shen right there, the captain of this Blues team. That pressure. Fowler at the point. He banks it down to Snuggaroon. Two of the three St. Louis goals today. Shen has the other has to follow right between the wicket. Sherwood looking to break. Keeper Sherwood will break. Short-handed in the clear and he scores. Deeper Sherwood at it again. A shorthanded goal to get Vancouver within one for St. Louis. How about Sherwood been the best player for the Canucks and short-handed all alone and he gets Bennington to bite and slides it home on the forehand. Oh, what a play. That is a bad case of dangalitis there, boys. Pennington shock strap hanging from the Raptors here in Vancouver. What a move. Little shimmy shake, twinkle toe. Sherwood shorthanded, third of the season. Off to Hughes. Kefir Sherwood has one career hattick. Hughes wrist shot save. Bennington rebound to Buad. And the Blues could have numbers. Texier. Buad. Walker joining the rush. Tension Walker. He scores. Nathan Walker’s first of the season and the Blues have their third twogoal lead of the night. Man rush the other ways. Texas good patience. Buad drives to the net. Kane kind of fell down. Some bodies into Lanin and it’s Nathan Walker getting his first of the season. So the fourth line of the Blues regains the two goal lead. 18 and seven with NB on the bench. They’re the best record in the league after the four nations won the tiebreaker for that second wild card spot over Calgary by virtue of one more regulation win on the wall. Shirouan looking for the hattick and Bennington gloves for just with hard work. Ratu Baines and Sherwood and as Ratu there’s the little battle along the wall. You win your wall battles. They’ll kick out play to Sherwood who gets a good shot at V line right out to start this third period. They’ve been all over it and for me really the only line so far for the Vancouver Conucks Hum. Yeah, we’ll see if they can drag their teammates into this one and for the Blues. Elias Bennerson. Garland centered it and Kane tried to tip that. He may have taken a stick and reacted like he did. Some pressure. This is what you need from your top players. Garland in front. There’s Kanan. A little bit of high stick. I believe it’s Robert Thomas got the stick up on Kane on that centering feed, but dishing it off for Snugaroo. Rolls out high down low. Thomas foul over the wrist shot saved. Lanking got with a shaft of his stick. Shift there by Connor Garland. And that’s what he does best. Get that puck in the offensive zone and just calm things down. Garland dashing in. Cuts it to the inside and a saved stop. a rebound too as he’s coming across one side to the other and watch this little cut back as he gets inside on Mayu. Quick shot try to get to the rebound as Bennington with a good save. Might have had a little room over that right pad but best chance for the Canucks coming light. Puck loose to Heedle. Canucks looking to make a push here late. Heedle moves it off to Bruss coming towards the net. Cuts right out in front of the St. Bennington. recognize the effort and a good chance. I wish see more of this from De Bruss is Billy take it hard to the blue paint as he Kane and Thomas on the big draw. Kane wins it back to Heronic and across to Hughes Leer Mackey. Heronic Hughes long drive fired it right in the neighbors long range empty net bid score. That’s three and two games for Jake Neighbors and the empty net should seal this for St. Louis. Neighbors license one here for the Blues. Sends it down the length of the ice. Able to pick the corner and it’s 52 St. Louis. That’s a huge play there by Neighbors. And they’re on their way to winning six of their last seven here at Rogers Arena. Time ticking off the clock and it’s a 52 win for the Blues. Victory for Jordan Bennington in net. [Music]

Jimmy Snuggerud found the back of the net twice while Brayden Schenn tallied a goal and an assist as the St. Louis Blues earned a 5-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks. Kiefer Sherwood scored both goals for Vancouver in the loss.

  1. One thing I noticed right away is that Elias Peterson is still a sissy; fans on a pass, another give away, really😮 results in a turnover and a goal: my sister used to play hockey years ago and never made plays like that…..bye bye time for Clown 🤡

  2. It was the battle of the coaches & Montgomery put up a masterclass. Blues gonna be a serious contender this season.
Canucks worked hard but zero chemistry.

  3. The Canucks don't have any bonafide top 6 players. Most, if not all, of the forwards are 3rd and 4th liners elevated to the top 6 because that's all the Canucks have right now. They might have to let go some of their young defenceman to get some legitimate top 6 forwards. Petey has been invisible out there these past 3 games.

  4. lol…right where we want to be fellas! its like watching last year all over again…i haven't seen anything from the canucks core guys, or any of the top talent that gives me the warm fuzzies…they do know preseason is over right…1st line was invisible, and I thought Petey got his groove back in the offseason…what gives? wheres the fire? where are the plays? they don't look interested the least bit..

  5. WOW another loss LOL expect many and they will be close also. WHERE are those EP40 fans? what a joke he is. HE signed the big contract and ran (smart guy in that)……Whos gonna be the New "Miller" reason why we not performing?--Sherwood the ONLY Canuck playing well—what the f is Hughes doing? Didnt hear DeBrusk name until the last 5min of game–

  6. Didn’t watch the game, but just by watching these highlights the Canucks need to work on a lot of things, especially defensive coverages. While Everyone is talking about EP40 being bad and rightfully so, Hughes doesn’t look all that great either.

  7. we need more players that play with heart (ex. Sherwood). Should have kept Miller and traded 40. Unpopular opinion, but as generationally talented Hughes is, I don't think he's that great at rallying the team as a leader nor is he elite defensively.
