Rico Dowdle says Cowboys ‘not ready enough’ to stop him, Panthers on FaceTime | FNIA | NFL on NBC

Hey Rico, man, last week you talked about they better strap up them chin straps and come ready. You finished the game. What’s your thoughts on did they come ready? How’d it go for you out there? It went great. Uh, obviously you see the end result. So I don’t think they came ready enough. They came ready but not ready enough. So yeah, but definitely a great team win for us. What was that feeling leaving Dallas and then now you go play and you’re on the field in pregame. You’re seeing all your former teammates. What were the emotions like? Um, yeah, I’m not a very emotional person, but it was definitely great getting to see those guys. You know, been I was there five years, so a lot of uh faces. It’s a couple new guys, but a lot of faces I already seen. So, definitely was great to catch up with some of my old friends and things like that. If I told you in in the preseason you were going to have two games over 470 yards from scrimmage, what would have been your reaction to that? Um, I would have been like, I can do it. I can do it. I would have told you I could do it just with opportunities. But yeah, definitely didn’t see it coming and things like that, but definitely was great to go out there and make the most of my opportunities, man. I just want to ask you about the touchdown catch when y’all drew that up in practice. Was that supposed to be wide open like that and and how did that come about? Um, yeah, it it definitely was supposed to be open like that. We ran it a couple weeks ago, I want to say, verse Jacksonville and I think Tuba was wide open on it and uh I think Bryce hit T-Mac on it. So, we talked, me and Tube was talking about it like before the game. He was like, “He going to be looking for you on this play today just because he missed me on the last one.” And uh we when we called it and I and I um seen Maris play out a little bit 35. So, I went inside of him so he didn’t cover me and then once I got behind him, I’m like, “Please find me, Bryce. Please find me.” And then end up being open for the touchdown. That’s awesome, man. To have a game like that and to get to win. How personal was this for you to go out there and beat the Cowboys? Um, yeah, that’s been my thing all week. I just wanted to get the win versus those guys. That was the main thing. Just go out there and get the win. I wouldn’t say it was just very personal like for me, but definitely personal from the aspect. Just want to go out there and beat them and play my best game versus them. And um, those guys up front allow for me to do that. So, definitely was great to beat him. And And what’s the mo mood like in the celebration, back-to-back games, tough wins down the stretch making plays. How’s everything uh like in the locker room right now? Uh, great. We’ve been saying it all year. We got we got everything we need in here and um we can you can feel the energy in the locker room now that we’ve had these two wins. Um obviously getting the 500 something that haven’t been done here in a long time. So um we harped on that throughout the week. Coach got up there well goody got up there and talked about that like it’s time it’s time for us to click on all three phases and um we were able to go out there and do that. So definitely a great feeling and uh the energy is up and like I said when we broke it down it’s um on to the next and we got to keep stacking. Man, I know those one:00 games, man. Go enjoy the rest of the day, man. Appreciate you. Keep the winning going, man. Yes, sir. I appreciate you. Hi, I’m Mike Tarico and thanks for watching. 1. Dude wasn't touched for 8-10 yds against the worst defense.

I would be more impressed if it were against a tougher defense.

Cowboys lost because of a dropped TD. 🤷🏿‍♂️
