Bro Was MLB’s Best Pitcher, Then He Disappeared 😔
Remember Tim Lindum, the freak? Back-to-back Sai Young’s three World Series rings with the Giants. He was untouchable. But then almost overnight, he vanished. What happened to MLB’s most dominant pitcher? It all started with his unconventional journey. Undersized in high school, overlooked by many. Yet, he developed a fastball that defied logic, earning him the nickname the freak for his incredible power despite his size. But that same explosive, violent pitching motion that made him a superstar also carried a hidden cost. Scouts warned about it for years. And in 2012, after a back injury, the unthinkable happened. His fastball velocity plummeted. He fought hard, even throwing two more no hitters. But injuries piled up. A line drive to his arm, a nagging hip condition requiring surgery. By 2017, the freak was gone from baseball. A Hall of Fame talent whose body gave out too soon. What do you remember most about Tim Lindum? Let us know in the comments. [Music]
Tim Lincecum was the Freak, he won Two Cy Youngs, 3 world series rings with the san francisco giants, and then… was gone. From unhittable ace to sudden collapse, here’s how MLB’s most electric pitcher burned out too soon.

How can you say “scouts warned about it for years” and “the unthinkable happened” in the same sentence?
A lot of them smaller pitchers fade out but don't get this he played for a long time, definitely a hall of famer
After his first WS series win, he went on national TV telling fans to spark up their joints. Well before weed was legal.
I know he was a hell of a picture I never knew what happened to him though.
He played for the Giants then in 2016 the Angeles 😊
Big time Timmy Jim.
Made a boat load of money and lived his dream and retired a young man – poor guy.
Dominant
What I remember most is that he got the Cy Young in 2009 but definitely did not deserve it. Chris Carpenter had the better season for sure and was the more dominant picture but Adam Wainwright also had an excellent season and he took votes away from his teammate. Lincecum stole that one.
How is he not a HOFer??
“What happened to MLBs most dominant pitcher”? Proceeds to not mention what happened to him.
I loved this kid
The best player to ever come out of UW and the pride of the northwest!
Didn't even know who he was until this clip. Sorry to see his career dwindle but look at the career he had….
Sm9kin
He was Amazing ! Sad , but he got paid !!
I remember all of us and our friends on the ball team in HS going crazy about this dude, man was an absolute animal in his prime. Strawsburg is another one that deserves more attention…has that amazing debut, threw gas but blew his arm out .
No wonder his nickname was “The Freak” with that last name if you know what I mean 💀
The absolute greatest to do it.
I miss the Lincecum days. So much fun to watch
Absolutely loved him.
Does anyone remember the NL championship game seven against the Phillies?
Salem keizer 🌋 🤘🏽
Ole Timmy was known for something else in the league. If you look back there was a certain event that happened in the league and his name was caught up in it
As a dodger fan he was crazy!
I remember watching him . As a life long dodgers fan I rooted for this man. Injuries catch up and it’s only so long we can ignore and compensate before our body gives up the ghost.
He tried to gain weight because he wore down at the end of a season. He lost his motion that helped him gain speed on his pitches. He never could get it back
A lot of travel ball parents should see this.
I'm a Dodgers fan. But this dude was electric. If he was on TV, I kept his game on. His pitching was prime time TV.
he died of weed
I remember he stood up for gay rights
How did he not have multiple tommy john surgery throwing 150 pitches?
He was FANTASTIC….but like everything…..time, age and injuries take their TOLL on your body !! 🤷😥
Well 2 cy youngs, and 3 rings ain't too shabby lol
Ok🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
His gigantic bow tie. Im guessing as a Giant player when traveling, you're required to wear one.
He was undersized so he decided to go 110% every single time knowing full well it will shorten his career.
