Wild double play creates chaos in Dodgers-Brewers game

set up for two and Muny skies one to center field. Hit well. This one’s got a chance. Felix going back to the wall. He leaps. It’s in and out of his glove, but he caught it. And now chaos on the bases. Might have a play at the plate. The throw not in time. No, he’s out. He’s out. It’s a forced play at the plate and he is out. All of this is going to be reviewed. It It’s only a force play if he didn’t catch it. Catch it. I don’t think they know. Also, did he leave early? Once it hits the glove, you can leave the base. It hits the wall. It’s a force play then. It’s the first play. It’s going to be a force play. It’s no catch. It hits the wall off his glove. And now it’s a force play at home. Let’s see. And the throw beat him down. Throws it to the plate. This is the sequence here. So now keep your eye on Will Smith at second. Okay, you know the out at the plate is good. That’s a force. Here’s the out. Now Contreras goes to keep an eye on that cuz look at Joey Ortiz telling give me the ball. Come here and step on third. That’s going to be your third out. Durban. Caleb Durban, the third baseman, knows that

It was absolute chaos in Milwaukee.

A wild sequence of events played out in the top of the fourth inning when Brewers center fielder Sal Frelick had a home run-robbing catch pop out of his glove, creating one of the wackiest postseason moments in recent memory.

With the bases loaded and Dodgers infielder Max Muncy at the plate and one out, he hit a long ball towards the center field wall, sending Frelick on a chase. The outfielder snagged the ball at the wall, but it popped out before he was able to gain full control of it.

  1. JOHN LIBKA, home plate umpire,  squeezed ROKI at the very critical points granting Brewers based on balls. He squeezed ONLY Dodgers pitchers all night long. WHAT A RACIST & BIGOT !!!!!!

  2. The real story is Blake Snells dominant performance. 8 innings 10 k's 0 walks. Should have left him out their to complete the game. Sure, he was at 103 pitches but showed no fatigue and handled business using a ton of off-speed pitches. What's 10 more pitches gonna hurt in game 1 of the NLCS? The 100 pitch rule should be a general guide, not gospel. We nearly blew it. I trust Sasaki, but any time you bring a pitcher out of the bullpen, you have a margin for error that IMO outweighs in terms of risk. Don't over manage. Get the W.

  3. Super embarrassing that any MLB player, in the playoffs no less, doesn't understand that when tagging up, the runner can leave the instant the ball hits the fielder's glove – it doesn't matter what happens after that. Whenever I was coaching 3rd in baseball or softball I always used to say, "wait until it hits something", because once it hits a glove, the wall, whatever, you're free to take off. The rule is written specifically so that an outfielder can't benefit from juggling the ball.

  4. I thought the yellow border on wall is the home run line. So the way see if he Sal touches ball in the air then hits the yellow line it’s a HR. If the ball hit the yellow line straight would it be a HR? Crazy.

  5. Been watching dodger baseball since 1959 and this is a first for me…. No one seems to be talking about the third base coach… its his job to observe whats happening and let the player no if should run or not… he deserves an error!!
