Arrow Is Pointing Up for Malaki Starks, Mike Green | Baltimore Ravens Final Drive

[Music] It’s the bye-week with the Ravens were on the practice field Tuesday working to improve from their one and five start. Two defensive rookies, Malachi Starks and Mike Green, have been thrust into large roles immediately in their NFL careers. Starks played 100% of the defensive snaps Sunday with Green recording 77% of defensive snaps in addition to contributing on special teams. Ravens coordinators and assistant coaches addressed the media as is customary during the by-week with multiple coaches identifying Starks and Green as on the cusp of making game-changing plays for the Ravens defense. Last week, Starks stealth evaluated saying he wants to trust his instincts and play faster. Coming off a game for the defense that coordinator Zack Ore called a step in the right direction, or highlighted Stark’s play for helping the Ravens limit big plays. Mal I think Malachi’s played well. I mean, he’s made some rookie mistakes. Um, he has some things that he know he has to clean up, but he’s done a good job, man. I mean, we haven’t given up a many explosives in the back end and he’s a big part of that. And, um, you know, the role that we have him playing, I think that he’s he’s able to when the ball does break, he’s he’s down the football. He had the one against Detroit u that he missed a tackle on the long run, but um besides that, he’s down the football. And the thing that you appreciate about him is any mistake that he makes, he’s not gonna make the same one again. And um you know he he shoot he’s one of the hardest workers on the team as Ricky which is impressive and I just think that um you know we just continue to encourage him to continue to do the right thing, continue to be in the right spots and his plays are going to happen. Like he’s he’s going to make he’s going to make big time gamechanging plays for us um throughout this year. So I’m excited about him. He’s done a heck of a job. If he has if he if he wasn’t doing what he was supposed to do um you know he wouldn’t be out there. So got full trust in in Malachi and what he’s bringing to the table. Chuck Pagano agrees that Star’s play is on an upward trajectory. Arrow up exceeded I think everybody’s expectations. Um he’s one of our hardest workers, smartest dudes, prepares like no other. Again, he’s mature beyond his years. There’s a lot on his plate. He’s accepted that challenge. He’s never backed down from any challenge. And like anybody else on this team, anybody else playing back there, those are hard jobs back there. uh especially, you know, outside and there’s going to be some tough downs. Uh great thing about Malachi is um he doesn’t make the same mistake twice. For Green, the outside linebacker’s room lost to DF Oay to a trade to Los Angeles Chargers last week and then saw Tavius Robinson sideline for 6 to 8 weeks after Sunday’s game. Pass rush coach Chuck Smith talked about Green’s play against the run and continuing to grow as a rusher. When you look at Mike, first thing I’m proud of Mike. Mike’s not like the normal rookie of a lot of the guys who came out in these first couple round. Mike’s playing Mike’s a starter. Mike’s playing big boy ball, you know, he’s playing first and 10. He’s playing against, you know, teams obviously the five teams we’ve played that have that are I guess playoff teams. Mike is so he’s transitioning. So Michael played first two downs, then he’s in on third down. And so on the run, I think Mike has really answered the bell. And a lot of people talked about Mike’s inability, you know, to stop the run. Mike Green is a is a Raven. Mike Green is, you look at some of the film from this past weekend, Mike Green is putting hands on guys, you know, and it’s a fight and he’s learning. And when it comes to the rush, when you look at the big picture, man, it takes time a lot of times. You know what I mean? And just like we talked about the things that have been our challenge, Mike’s a part of that as far as from the standpoint, it affects everyone. But I think Mike Green is going to continue to work hard. He gets after it. He takes coaching and I think his time will come, you know, and his and the other guys will too. We’ll keep continue to keep working. He’s working on his his different techniques and understanding, protections, all the things that goes into being a a good rusher as well as a complete player. And right now, Mike, you know, the right now he’s doing really well on the run and he’s continue to work hard and develop as a pass rusher. Those his days will come, his sacks will come, and at the end of the year, you know, we’ll be happy. The team will practice again Wednesday before players have four days to rest and recover over the buy. This team hampered by injuries over the last couple weeks will hope to get some key pieces back when they return Monday looking in to week eight. Thanks for watching. We’ll be back with you tomorrow. 1. Why is shorty's forehead so shiny? πŸ€¦πŸΏβ€β™‚οΈ Ravens got us complaining about everything now 2025… Who would have thunk it πŸ‘ΏπŸ€·πŸΏβ€β™‚οΈ

  2. What is exactly pointing up for Mike Green & Malaki?

They've been one of the biggest 1st &2nd round rookie dissapointments throughout the league. They are contributing to garbage defense. 0 sacks, 0 interceptions, awful tackling, awful anticipation.

One of the many reasons why this is historically the WORST Ravens defense in 30 year history. The past 4 years we had plenty of bad defense, but this has to take the cake
