NHL Game Highlights | Hurricanes vs. Sharks – October 14, 2025
ers in overtime last Saturday night on the east coast. Kings have made the trip west. They kick off a six-game road trip here tonight in this first meeting of the season. Two times these teams will play. This is the first 51st time near the end of his shift for Reed. He scored Craig Cole here on Saturday night and then had quite the scrap with Ross Johnston of the Johnston of the Ducks. Here’s Orloff with a shot. That one’s knocked down by the goalender busy. Little work down in the corner against Cellopaney. He’s got his hands full there with the big Janowski, but does a nice job keeping him on the outside. Now a shot from Riley that’ll bounce through the Delulkovich the save. Sharks allow 44 shots on goal to Anaheim here on Saturday night. That volume is not going to serve you well in the long term as Nadilkovich handles that one. It’s been a long road for Taylor. Still playing at a high level. Here’s Reed. Looks back. Nobody coming. It’s all up to you, Revo. And he puts it on deck Saturday night, but also was part of the end of the game. Turning a puck over that led to the winner by Leo Carlson. Al Faro a shot that’s off a stick wide. Back for Olaf and Carolina busting out of the zone. It’s Nikolai Eert. He’ll slide it to the right. Jackson Blake fakes a shot then puts it on net. Dulkovich the save. Big high rebound. Now Eers fake the shot. Brings it back. Watched by Ferraro. Eers keeps his balance going around Smith. Then he lost the puck. He gets helped up by Aaho and he dumps it behind the net. A quick play by Dulkovich to Orlov who was checked back there by Eers. And now it’s Seth Jarvis that had something on it but wide to Poli will chip it clear waiting for it to settle as Zelan absorbs a body check from Shawn Walker who had a decent chip. Here’s Robinson. He’ll bounce one in. That’s gloved cleanly by Nadulkovich. Gather, accumulate, be able to bring into the organization. It’s an exciting time for coming over from the New York Rangers and a big trade for Carolina. Now a shot blocked by Vulkovich. He’s looking at a milestone. Back to back 30 goal seasons for Seth Jarvis. He smoked by Skinner as he won the battle with Shane Gosbear. Now gets around him and a save by Busy. But a penalty coming up on the play against Carolina is outstanding. Goes a little 10 to two. Opens up one foot of 10. One foot of two and then is able to bring the puck in for the great chance on net. This though your defense sets up your offense. The pressure by Skinner. Here comes a little 10 and two right here. Thank you very much. That is equals a little shimmy shake. Great chance. And that slash just knocks the puck off his stick just enough that he doesn’t get the goal, but he generates a power play opportunity. Working it deep for Recklin and to Foley both in the corner. Back for in front of in front for Smith rather and save by busy. Great looking play there to Foley to Smith and Brandon Busy’s made two big saves here in the first period. They got the puck recovery. They got a dynamite chance but what a save by busy. Aaho knocks it down as he continues to take time off the clock. Fires one off the stick in his debut for the team in their win over the Devils. Here’s Miller. Pass shot saved by Nadelovich as he robs Ker. Usually pretty good along the boards. Can’t get that puck out. Andre Miller does a very good job on stepping up, taking away his time and space, using that stick to perfection. And you can see that Nick Ley has a hard time getting back. Taylor Hall, who was number one overall that year by the Edmonton Oilers. Second period underway. Well, not nearly the fireworks that we had here Saturday night when the goals were coming in bunches. None here so far as we’re just into the middle frame. Alex Wenberg battling Jaylen Capfield down there. Wberg ended up with the puck, but then it carried away to Sam Dickinson. Puts it on net. Saved by and the rebound got through past Skinner. Walker sends it back to Aaho’s side. Here’s Sebastian Aaho. The perennial goalcoring leader for Carolina until last year when Jarvis and they score. Delayed penalty was coming. Shawn Walker with a blast. Delga appeared to be screened and it’s one- nothing Carolina. We talked about in our keys to the game was movement in the offensive zone. Look at all the movement in the offensive zone. And look at Nadulkovich trying to find this puck. You’ve got that’s a great shot. But you have got movement from everybody. All five guys are intertwined and they are making sure that they are supporting each other and they get people to the net. Get out of his own end. Look at the pressure. First carry then stall the door left has it and here’s Wenberg in alone saved by busy support there. Mario is going to get pressured trying to bring the puck up. Here comes the defenseman down the wall but you’ve got to make sure you’ve got support which is Orlof. Terrific pass. Watch how aggressive he is. See he gets the stick out and the big splits again. 6’4 goalie. He covers a lot of space. Alex Wenberg with the fake shot. Now he’s going to bring it to the back hand, but look at how far out has it again for Carolina and sends it off the glass and down to center. Four and a half deep into period two. It’s one- nothing Carolina. Here’s William Ashlin in scores. Ecklund with his first of the year. We’re tied at one. Good defensive play by Nick Lenny. This puck’s going to go on the pop fly. Nick Lady creates the loose puck and then William Ecklan quick shot get beats Busy through the five hole right here. Good stick check now. Bang. You can go the other way. Heck of a quick up by Tyler to Foley. There’s the shot. There’s the goal. Tie it up. Your defense. Here’s Celbrini. And now Smith back four to trying to redirect it in. Busy bought it off. And there’s a wide open space there as Jack Chatfield. He pressures up. He’s coming back. He doesn’t have the stick, so he can’t get the stick in the passing lane. And what a save again by busy. My goodness me. That’s about the fourth real great a chance he has stopped. Good pass. Good job going to the net. Good attack. He had Skinner in the vicinity. Now Martin look back the other way for Carolina. has a teammate breaking to the net in and off the goal post they follow up and score. Will Kier will get the final touch. It’s 2-1. And good attack through the zone now. It’s tough to sort out. You got to come back as hard as you can yet. But as you spread out and just too much in that situation as Dickinson tries to guide it into Nadulkovich, watch the pressure coming. So you want to just clear that puck away if you can, but there’s the pressure coming in. Bang. Kerier follows it up. The other team presses. You got to make sure you’re composed and communicating. Barkley Good has gotten and sussy made the save. God with a great chance there. A quick pass for Robinson in on net. He scores. Eric Robinson and it’s 3-1. How often do we see it in hockey? Blocker comes down and this is a heck of a move. Now it looks like it’s a bad goal, but it’s a guy. [Applause] Shot attempts for Carolina. Impressive. 59-24. Wow. They outshot the Sharks 3317 as we’re underway with period three. And the Sharks endeavor to come up with win number one on their season and do so in come from behind fashion. Jackfield off the post, but no indication at this point that he’s injured. Here is Hall with Stankov back for Cost and he scores. And the Hurricanes keep on coming. It’s 4-1. Hurricanes and they come with numbers, right? The defense is up and the defenseman beating the Sharks back to the net. Michael Misa’s trying as opposed to the Utah hockey club. That game on ESPN plus Friday night at 6 with Bay Area hockey broadcaster Roxy Bernstein and AJ Molesco on the call. There’s a shot and a goal for Jackson Blake and it’s 5-1 [Applause] again. But again, it’s the pressure by the Carolina Hurricanes first to pucks, all kinds of time and space. Well, I don’t think Nelkovich read that play very well. I don’t know if he didn’t see it going DD because there were people there cuz he didn’t seem to get across at all on that. And it goes, but it didn’t thankfully. And Orof heads back and that will do it here on this Tuesday night at the Shark Tank. 42 shot, fivegoal performance and a first ever NHL win. [Music]
Five different players scored goals to carry a balanced attack for the Carolina Hurricanes in a 5-1 win over the San Jose Sharks.

Canes looked good.
Incoming bag skate for the boys
That sharks goal song has got to go.
So far so good for Bussi. Good to be able to let Freddy rest now and then.
First period was ok…..the disparity in talent between the two teams really showed in the 2nd and 3rd….Misa was fine for his debut against a good team. Ned was ok it mightve been 10-1 if not for him
