Did the MLB social media pages post Ohtani alot when he was with Anaheim?
October 15, 2025
I became a fan of the Angels the season after he left (2024), and since he became a dodger, the MLB accounts post about him ALOT. And I was curious if they did the same when he was with the Angels.

Less frequently than since he’s been a Dodger, but far more frequently than any Angel not named Mike Trout. You saw fairly frequent posts about towering home runs or historic individual achievements
Yes
Literally yes.
They covered him whenever he accomplished something or broke some long standing record. But the first two years of his career were average and he didn’t get as many ABs because they DH’d for him and he didn’t play the day before he pitched. He’s getting more ABs and coverage now because they changed the rules for him and the Dodgers are winning. So many times he’d do something incredible and the Angels would still lose by six runs.
Yes
Yes. Tbf he put out a lot of good content. Complete game and 2 HR double header against Detroit, 13ks then 8 rbis, etc. A lot of good back to back Trout HRs too. Good times.
Yes. And it usually went like this: Ohtani hits historic home run in Angels 9-2 loss
those were the Tungsten Arm O’Doyle days
Yes, but the Dodgers are one of the top-marquee teams in baseball even when they aren’t good, and MLB has absolutely capitalized on it.
Absolutely not. When he joined the Dodgers, the media acted as if he had finally moved to SoCal. As if Anaheim wasn’t 20 miles away, but rather a foreign country.
Yes, but when he was on the Angels he was setting some new precedent or new feat never seen in baseball (or last seen in 1903) on a very regular basis.
Yes to some degree but not as much as north.
Angels aren’t exactly a marketable team.
Dodgers media has to try to bury all the losing, terrible contracts, human trafficking, cheating, etc. This is also their only way to “own the libs”, since they can’t beat the Angels on the field.
Yes
Tbh, people were sick of it between 21-23. It was just as bad.
Get this picture off my feed
Yup was the only bright spot for many seasons
Yes, he honestly drew more coverage for the Angels than anyone in my 39 years of life.

Oh yeah. [Here too.](https://www.reddit.com/r/angelsbaseball/s/Eh0mLyw88t)
He came to us damaged goods so the first 2/3’s of his time with the Angels were injuries or recovering from injuries
Ohtani is the absolute only reason why I would sit in hours of traffic to go to the big A. Loved the vibes. Glad he’s home now.
Can I ask how did you become an Angels fan last year? Cuz from my point of view, it’s hard to like a team that doesn’t try to win.
Los Angeles …
