Summary Judgement: Arte must sell the club and RIP Tyler Skaggs
This organization is rotted to the core.
If what the plaintiffs attorney is alleging can be backed up with testimony and exhibits as evidence during the trial, the Angels organization is in big trouble.
The plaintiffs opening statement alleges that Tim Mead was shown texts from Eric Kay’s wife that Kay was dealing drugs to Skaggs in 2019.
“On Easter Day in 2019, Mead had to take Kay home from work after Kay was vomiting, sweating and dancing around with his shirt off while seemingly under the influence of drugs, the family’s attorney said. Kay was hospitalized, the attorney said, and when Mead came to visit Kay later, he was told by Kay’s wife that Kay had admitted to having pills for Skaggs and was shown texts indicating that Kay was distributing drugs to Skaggs and other players.”
The plaintiffs attorney also alleges that Mead was at Eric Kay’s house and found evidence of Kay’s intent to distribute drugs.
“Holley said Kay’s drug use was so out in the open that star player Mike Trout offered to pay for him to go to rehab. An intervention by Kay’s family did not go well, the family attorney said, and Mead and Taylor were called to help. While at Kay’s house, the family attorney alleged, Mead and Taylor found sixty pills divided up into baggies of ten pills each. That packaging, the attorney added, was indicative of selling drugs.”
This is disgusting by the Skaggs family.
As tragic as this was, the combined no hitter against the mariners in the first home game after was the best baseball game I’ve ever attended in my life.
Trout also sent one to the moon that game.
At what point does personal accountability become a factor? This wasn’t a child.
Oh yeah I forgot the angels killed a guy
So what does this mean for the Angels if the worst outcome were to occur? Does it just mean like the org can’t spend money on free agents and has to pay money to the family? Like I get it probably maybe hurts Arte, but what’s the outcome for fans?
Arte should have offered a payout a few yrs ago. MLB owners group should look at the neglect of the Anaheim Angels and what has happened and vote to make him sell
Please don’t OD on drugs. Other people will be blamed for your own stupidity
