49ers Fans Get A Bunch Of MUCH-NEEDED GOOD NEWS Going Into Week 7 vs. Falcons | 49ers News
[Music] Coming up on today’s San Francisco 49ers report, Chase Senior here with you. I know a lot of you are bummed out about this Fred Warner injury. Believe me, I’m right there with you. One of my favorite athletes of all time, but what if I told you that you can get some good news on this Tuesday that’s coming up. What happened on the Fred Warner play? Was it avoidable for San Francisco? Kyle Shanahan talked about that. And safety, surprisingly, has been an issue for this football team. Is there going to be a change there? What is the plan for San Francisco on that side of the ball on defense moving forward? We’ll get into that as well. Before we get to those three topics, don’t forget to hit that subscribe button. Join the movement here on the Niners Report because if you want Niners coverage every single day, year round that’s informative, insightful, entertaining, thoughtprovoking, where you have a voice, I’m your go-to guy. This is your go-to spot. We’re 248 people away from 177,000 subscribers. Let’s get there with this video. And what you get daily free Niners content. Let’s begin here. What if I told you you could get some good news after that bad loss against Tampa Bay and after losing Fred Warner for the season? Well, tight end George KD, all world player, expected to return to practice on Wednesday and the arrow is pointing up for him to return in week seven on Sunday Night Football against the Atlanta Falcons. That game surprisingly becoming a really big one inside the NFC and heading into this year. I didn’t think a lot of people thought about it in that manner, but the Falcons just beat down on the Buffalo Bills on Monday night. As for KD returning, haven’t seen him since week one, and he made his impact be felt in that opener against Seattle. Only played 21 snaps before injuring his hamstring. In those 21 snaps, four catches, 25 yards, and a red zone touchdown. If everything goes smoothly, he can return to practice on Wednesday. And if he ramps up without any setbacks, as we know with hamstrings and soft tissue injuries, that can happen. He should be able to make his return at Levi Stadium on Sunday Night Football Prime Time Football. And all of a sudden, this Falcons NerS game has become a huge one inside the NFC with major NFC playoff implications. Now, I know we’re about to embark on week seven, right? But the Niners are four and two. They have a lot of chaos with all these injuries. Just lost to Tampa Bay. But how about the Atlanta Falcons? Got off to a rough start this year. Made some changes with that coaching staff. Zack Robinson, a Shawn McVey disciple, went from calling plays in the booth to going to the field. And that’s resulted in Atlanta playing some pretty good ball. And Atlanta comes out of the week five buy. And don’t let the score fool you. They dominated the Buffalo Bills last night at the Mercedes Super Dome in Atlanta. 2414 the final and this Falcons offense is legit. They have so many weapons over the last couple of years. We’ve been waiting for them to explode. It hasn’t happened. The defense has been bad, but now the offense is playing well. The defense is getting after the quarterback, and they’re going to be a handful to cover for the Ner’s defense. And this is a Ner’s defense that as we know is without Fred Warner and George KD. Michael Pennock last night 20 of 32, 250 yards and a touchdown. Looks like he’s playing at Washington once again when Ryan Grub was calling plays and Kayn Dbor was the head coach and he was slinging it all across the yard. Bean Robinson, he was one of my favorites to win offensive player of the year this year. Dominant last night and looked incredible. 19 carries, 170 yards, and a touchdown. also made his impact be felt in the pass game. And then Drake London, 10 catches for 158 yards and a touchdown. And Josh Allen, a lot of people’s MVP this year. I think it’s Baker or Momes. 15 to 26, a buck 80, two touchdowns, two picks. Buffalo had some success running the ball. They had some injuries on offense, but this was a very impressive win for Atlanta. And for George KD, George KD’s impact is really going to be felt for this Niners offense once he comes back. Obviously, in the pass game because he’s a terrific weapon there, but also the run game. And I went back to look at some of the splits to dig these numbers up from last year. Not a crazy difference from when KD was on the field compared to when he was off of it. But the Niners yards per carry with KD on the field because he’s such a good blocker, 4.79. the yards per carry without him dipping down to 4.39. What you also see here is the touchdown dip. The ners with KD on the field 16 rushing touchdowns to just one rushing touchdown without him. So the touchdown percentage went down dramatically without KD because he can be that inline tight end lined up to the right of Colt McKivittz, to the left of Trent Williams. you can put him in motion and he’s such a good blocker. Plus, his presence makes this offense a lot less predictable. Defenses have to game plan against number 85 because they don’t know if he’s going to go out for a route, if he’s going to stay in the block. Sometimes when he does block, he fakes the block or at least chips a guy, then he goes out for a route. He really is such a fantastic safety valve for whichever quarterback the Niners are going to go with. More on that in a moment. and KD as an extra blocker will at least help this offensive line out a little bit. I don’t think it’s going to help them out too much because this Niners offensive line absolutely stinks, especially along the interior, one of the worst interior offensive lines in football. But with KD on the field, the numbers back this up. The eye test backs it up. You can run the football more efficiently, more effectively. This I also think is going to help out Christian McCaffrey with his yards before contact because right now so often when he gets a carry, he’s getting hit in the back field for a loss. I don’t think it’s because he’s lost a ton of juice. As for Brock Pury, he could return to practice this week as well and do some light stuff. You have to be care about uh you have to be careful, excuse me, about this turftoe injury. Obviously, he missed a couple of games, came back from it, played against Jacksonville, reagravated it. The risk of reinjury for a turftoe is very high. So, at this moment, I’d be somewhat surprised if Pertie comes back and plays in this game. I think he needs another week, maybe two weeks, and that’s fine. You let M. Jones continue to steer the ship. if you could protect in front of him because he’s not that mobile. He’s shown that he can really be an elite passer from inside the pocket under Kyle Shanahan. For Ricky Pearaw, he could also return to practice. He might play against Atlanta. You’re going to need another weapon out there. You can only last so long with Kendrick Bourne being your number one. And Jawan Jennings is banged up. The guy’s got like five broken ribs and Paw before he’s missed the last couple of games. Was just balling out. I mean, looking like a legitimate number one wide out and a guy. 20 catches, 327 yards, no touchdowns, and along a 45. What if I told you that the good news didn’t end for San Francisco? Let’s keep it moving, baby. I’m the voice of reason in the Bay Area for Niner fans after week six wrapped up last night and you saw the Falcons upset the Bills and you saw the Bears win the turnover battle 3 0 barely hold on to beat the Commanders and everything that else everything else that transpired in week six not just in the NFC but across the NFL I had this realization the NFC is so wide open and if you were to ask me who plays in the Super Bowl in February at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara. Right now, I have absolutely no clue. And so, this is great news for the Niners because look, I don’t think San Francisco can compete seriously without Nick Bosa and Fred Warner. I don’t think the Niners can keep their heads above water defensively without making a trade. But if the 49ers do trade for a pass rusher, I think San Francisco is firmly in the mix because right now in a head-to-head matchup, I would take them to compete and keep the game close against any team in the NFC with the talent that they still have, with the coaching that they have, which gives you a chance week in and week out, and you get homefield advantage on your side. We know in the playoffs anything can happen. And I know the Niners want to continue to build with this young roster. What if you can compete with this young roster, make it into the playoffs, and give these young players some playoff experience? You look at the NFC West standings right now, Niners are 4-2. It’s not time to sell. It’s time to continue to grow as a young football team, but also compete and win games. And then you look at the NFC standings after that three-way tie at top first place in the NFC West. Although the Niners in the tiebreaker because they’re 3 and 0 inside this division. Look at how close everything is inside the conference. These are the top 10 teams and they’re only separated by two games in the win column. So ask yourself this question. Can the Niners compete with anybody in the NFC in a do or die game? I think the answer to that question is yes. So John Lynch, I hope you’re watching the show. Kyle Shanahan, I hope you’re watching as well. You should go all in at the NFL trade deadline because your team has proven they can compete at a very high level this year. And if you can get a player who makes sense financially and with draft picks who can also help you in the future, I think it’s a no-brainer. Still to come here on the show, what happened on the Fred Warner play where the ners only had 10 guys on the field and what is going on at the safety spot? It’s good to be right now. Obviously, Fred Warner shattered his ankle in that loss early against the Buccaneers on Sunday. Dislocated ankle. It’s broken. He needs season ending surgery. The good news is he can return to play and return back to form because right now it doesn’t look like any ligaments or nerves or anything extra was impacted. And what stinks about this play, would it have happened if the Niners had 11 guys on the field? You see Fred Warner is pointing at something right here, right? You know what he’s pointing at? No defensive end right here. The Niners were a defensive end short. You flip to the next slide here and you see that the right defensive end not on the field. How did this happen? Warner directly pointing at it. The Buccaneers noticed this. So Baker Mayfield hands it to Rashad White. They run to that side and Fred Warner friendly fire gets rolled up on and that’s when the injury happened. Paly Shanahan asked about this play when the Niners had 10 guys on the field and he said because that player, he didn’t didn’t say which player, but we think it’s Travis Gibson because it was a special teamer was out on special teams. We thought he was out there and he came off the field. We didn’t realize it until the snap and needed 11 out there. We could have called a timeout if I saw it, but I didn’t and it was unfortunate mistake. Can you imagine if Shanahan saw that? He calls a timeout, blows the play dead. Fred Warner doesn’t get injured on that play. Now, I’m not blaming Shanahan. I’m not blaming Travis Gibson. This actually happens a lot in NFL games where sometimes you have an extra man or you’re a man down and getting rolled up on. That happens in football. We see it frequently, routinely, all the time. But if the Niners did see that and called a timeout, number 54 might be getting ready to play the Atlanta Falcons. Continuing continuing that Hall of Fame career instead season ending injury, devastating blow for San Francisco. As for the safety position for the ners, Malik Mustafa returned against Tampa Bay. Didn’t play the whole first quarter. Then he played 21 snaps after that. Jason Pinnock got benched. So Gier Brown and Maris Seagull, the rookie, did start. The plan was for Pinnock to play some big nickel, that hybrid linebacker that we’ve seen Teague Gyier Brown play, but there wasn’t a situation in the game where the Niners needed to go to that. So, Pino didn’t get those opportunities. Mustafa did play 21 snaps. He didn’t give up a catch. Now, on the blown coverage on that one long touchdown, that wasn’t on Mustafa. He didn’t get docked for giving up that catch. Nobody caught him in motion from left to right. Then, he was open on that kind of wheel route. Baker Mayfield hit him wide open for Johnson. Waltz is in for the touchdown. I thought Mustafa played pretty well in his first game action. Flying around as always. Marqueis Seagull has shown a lot to me. I like the way that he plays, the speed and physicality that he plays with. Obviously against the Rams, he was a part of that fourth down stop. He’s made some really nice plays around the line of scrimmage and against the run. But in coverage, he’s been one of the worst safeties in the NFL. He’s given up 22 catches for 388 yards the most among safeties as far as the yardage goes. I think the Niners like him though. Runs 43, plays like a bat out of hell. Obviously, he needs to get better. I will say this in coverage. He did get beat by TZ Johnson, but other than that, he’s been there to make plays. He just hasn’t made those plays. And so, we’re not really sure who’s going to be the starting combination at safety moving forward. Kyle Shanahan wouldn’t reveal that to the media. He said, “I think we’ve got three guys who are capable there, and those are what all those three guys are battling for. I don’t think any of that is set in stone. We’re trying to hope that they make that decision for us.” So, it’s still a safety competition going into week seven for San Francisco. They better get it buttoned up on defense going up against Atlanta with all those weapons. Don’t forget to hit that subscribe button. Thanks for watching the show and I’ll catch you soon. [Music]

If there were 11 guys out there, the outcome of the universe would change. He would not have gotten hurt on that play.
Dude, we've been top 10 in I juries if not top 5 every year Kyle has been here but 1. This is ow our second year at #1 in injuries. THAT is a pattern. We're going nowhere with all the I jurues and a crap o line
This is all on Kyle and his lack of recognition on inpatient things, 1 being the horrible OL, and next the fact that you only had 10 players on the field!!!
I hope Kyle Shanahan don't get injured Next
Chase how does a trade with JJ and a fourth round draft pick for Tennessee DT Simmons and a LB from the jets
Injured players are coming back healthy just to get injured again.
Until the oline gets upgraded it doesn't matter who comes back. Qb or Wr.
Real ones!!!
Have you ever thought about nick martin playing DE or taking bethunes spot?
No game will be big for the niners this year. No news will be encouraging enough to overcome the curse over this team
No sense rushing your franchise qb back when the season is already lost without Bosa and Warner
SELL SELL SELL
NO!!!!
Umm with the o-line the way it is right now, ATL is going to destroy the Niners. Almost prefer they sign a temp QB to just get hit 10 times and not risk our QBβs. What ATL did to the Bills?? The Niners are in trouble.
They better sign 4 more qbs to get injured
What everything we do. We are trash π this year.
Wow. We going lose this one to
Letβs be real. Brock is injury prone.
Please beat those failcons!!! #KeepPounding π
Niners got no chance
Niners can have mahomes, puka, kittle, and Skattebo with the current o line. Niners will still collapse!
You said the defense is without George Kittle π slow down bro
I've lost my thoughts on sigle. He looks beatable all the time
Usually love the content. But hate the what if butterfly effect take. Move on. He's hurt so what the fucjin point?
