Phoenix Suns Preseason Game Highlights vs. Los Angeles Laker | 10-14-2025

But especially the veterans, you know, they they they notice all those little details. The rookies both playing hard and also communicating, asking questions because they know if you play hard, good things will happen and then mistakes will be overlooked. Jordan Goodwin one tied up inside stays with it. The loose ball rebound before he is even re-evaluated. So, the Lakers also in a process of kind of seeing what their team’s going to look like without the likes of LeBron as Jared Butler, who’s you mentioned played well preseason, connects on that three. There is Fleming, [Music] the veteran smart. Nice little leaner there from Jerry Butler. Looking at DeAndre, this allowed his opportunity to get to the glass. Gotcha. It’s passing and traffic into the hands of Butler. Six nights backto back front end here this evening. They’re playing six preseason games to the Suns four. Of course, as a result, Butler gets a spin at contact inside, draws a foul and gets himself a trip to the free throw line. Agreed that he’s going to block the shot. This is one of the most difficult shots you can make. Well, you look at Butler, as we mentioned, you know, let signed a two-way contract with the Suns back in early July. Missed all of last season after dealing with a hip injury. JJ Reic and the staff are excited about getting the likes of a DeAndre Aton, you know, kind of go back to the way he played, but the Suns in that finals run. Brea tied up though. Hits traffic. Liver let it fly. There’s another guy watching him in practice before they departed for Macau. Really confident offensively. Rehea best one so far through preseason both in games and in training camp practices. Catch and shoot three coming from Nigel Hayes Davis. You know, no one knows what he can evolve into and I think mentally he can’t buy into that thought. Good with a step back. Beautiful stroke there from Jordan Goodwin. Final pre-season tuneup for the Suns. Two on the shot clock. Rya working against James. leans back. Boy, and you could see James twice now. [Music] Good one backing down. Gets inside with the right hand against his former teammate. Good one. 50 win season, but cut short by Minnesota. Brea there with a steal as Koko throws it away. Up ahead to Duke Jr. Nice save for David Duke Jr. There it is. Turn it over. Look up ahead. He’s an allstar ready to happen. Unfortunately though, he’s on a team with two potential obviously one alltime great already. And then Luca, if he can win a title, he’ll probably be somewhere in that top 15. Well, in many ways, he’s a perfect fit with this Lakers team considering their personnel. There’s a rookie Fleming been working on that three-point shot. I look around and I’m like, I’m about ready to coop against these guys. these guys, the top guys ever. So, he said it’s been really surreal, but also just a great experience for him so far. Yeah, that loose ball rebound box out, especially on free throws, tends to bring bad results for the defense inside. Malawatch takes him to the boom room. There it is. Throw it up there. [Applause] Go get it. All right. Why would you even try to get there on him? Rabia stayed down. Butler on the drive. Can’t shoot again from Plymouth. Yeah, just don’t be fast. D 14. Both Ian Reed has come to life here in this second quarter. Pass up top. Good recovery by the Suns rookie Malawatch up the floor to Butler gets the finish in the foul. Great fast break. the pass. How about the defense here for the Sun rookie? That’s right. Didn’t give in to extending himself. Look at that. Bounced it right up. Right up and dry. And you know what that tells me the rookie big man and it underscores what the vets have said about him and his son’s able to get the back tap on the free throw miss. But considering that was Luca as man. Yes, he can. can players can do what he did. I mean, the length that he has is just is just above a lot of players, but also putting himself in position. The great thing about this young fellow though, Eve, is just the sheer joy that he has for playing the game as Butler this upcoming season. and organizations some might think organizations get mad as Butler is just putting on a show, you know, in these situations. He’s got to get better at it right now. He’s getting an opportunity to play here. Yeah. And you know, he he hasn’t been on the floor a lot the last two years. And again, Malawatch [Music] Malaw with the screen with a pocket pass. Rolls to the basket and brings the boom. opposed to the facility, getting in that game mindset. He said, “I like getting shots at the rim where we play and when the lights are shining bright, I like to get shots in the arena whenever I can and just get that experience.” He did it in Houston in Memphis and he said he was just working on his shot and to not feel, you know, pressed to get the ball back into the hands of Devin Booker or Dylan Brooks or any of the others. Exactly right. 15 points for the Suns rookie. 19 minutes, seven of eight from the field for Sheer, but he has been fearless in launching that three-point shot. Put the camera back on book again when we get a chance. See, there’s certain things that you and I can’t do, you know, cuz we’re a little older. Put into his game as Bonnie James the steel leaves him with a man advantage. Hayes Davis slice up the three and splashes it home. an expiring contract as Livers able to finally knock that jumper down getting his first points. As I say, this is a guy that’s not played a lot of games. Missed 59 of the first 60 games his rookie season. So, he’s not been on the NBA floor in a game in a minute. It’s good to see him get a run. Livers with 16 minutes in counting. Huntley powers it up. It’ll get the one. Fast breaks by the Suns. And this is a missing part of the game. Now the take foul is no more. There you go. Three on one. Got really good. That will certainly make for an interesting affair with Luca and of course number one overall pick is Jerry Butler continuing feeling good right now inside his head. He’s saying to himself in Macau Reeves takes a hand off stripped by Huntley up the floor for Brea pass to Butler up top delivers eight fast breaking sun and livers on the rise as Christian Palco rising up over everybody else and slams it home. Goodwin jump stop three on the way. Gets the bucket. Gets the foul. Bobby James hustling back into the play. That’s a good thing. But the bad thing is you’re fouling a three-point shoot. Like you just don’t [Applause] tied up. Kept the dribble alive. Shot the air ball. Poco throws it away on the drive and kick. Good one. sees the open shooter. Livers the payoff pass. Team pretty even in that the second quarter despite the explosion and Jordan Good picking up where he left off. [Applause] He was a number three prospect coming out of high school. Malawatch on the drive off balance. How about the finish for the young fella? I mean just his energy and really finding his rhythm here. Catch and shoot from the corner. Jordan Goodwin trailed by as many at 15 on the drive. Malawatch says not on my watch. Oh boy. Had Malawatch too. Oh man, he had him. Get that shot out of here. Lakers in transition with great hustle by the rookie Rashir Fleming. We have seen him do that countless times here throughout preseason. Catch and shoot three from Butler. And then you add to it the execution in the playmaking. Good things happen. Shot clock winding down but doesn’t matter. Jared Butler come says [Applause] No, no. Butler on the clock. Got to go here. [Applause] Doesn’t matter. Tied up there by Watson. Another day at the office for the Butler.

  1. I’m not sure how many mins he’ll get, but I love Hutley’s game. That motor, that hustle, that disruption on D. A large part of our running began b/c of Hutley pressure.
I like Brea a lot. He’s like Book Chapter 2.
If Fleming can be a consistent 3-pt threat, he could be the scary 3 & D guy we need, especially if Ryan Dunn isn’t healthy or progressing.
Man-man is the depth we need at Center & could be a real threat w/in 2-3 seasons.
Butler is the upgrade we have needed off the bench… a guy who can actually create his own shot, and find teammates.
That why Suns have been overrated. Outside of our “big 3” no one could create for themselves. And those 3 were always injured, doubled, or pouting… and old.

  2. Butler and Maluach look really good, but really the whole team looked good and I like the way they're playing. Butler needs playing time if the suns are smart.
