JJ rips PFF a new one: “I know defensive line play unbelievably well. I could not go and grade a game for a player and give him a definitive grade without speaking to him, his coach, the scheme, everything.”

  1. The simple fact that PFF does’t use all-22 film pretty much invalidates its grade in a serious argument.

  2. They gave stroud about a 70 rating against the Ravens. It’s very clearly a biased metric, and they prop the players they want to prop up

  3. Oh we’re doing this again? PFF grades are flawed but can be generally useful. If you use PFF for actual football evaluation purposes it should mostly be for their stats. Not everything has to be so serious

  4. Lol and PFF’s response during their live stream was basically “Yes, our graders are literally a few goobers sitting around eating cheetos and watching nfl redzone while waiting for their next Uber pickup. Of course we make mistakes. No one’s perfect.” 😂

  5. That’s always been the base problem with these kinds of grades from any sports media. Schemes are designed to be extremely complicated so nobody will EVER know someone’s responsibility for every single play in a game.
