QB Tua Tagovailoa meets with the media | Miami Dolphins
All right. So, um, you know, I as as a leader of this team of the Miami Dolphins, um, you know, the the comments that that had been said, uh, I would say I’ve I’ve made a mistake and I’m owning up to that right now. Um, you know, I’ve talked to to guys on a team about it, talked to the leaders about it, and uh, you know, that they they know my heart. They know that the intent was right, but no matter the intent, um, you know, the intent can be right, but when things get misconstrued or however the media wants to portray it, you know, that that leaves a void of of silence and a lot of questions for the guys on our team. Now, being one and five, you know, we talk a lot about, all right, we we got to get this going. We got to get this going. come in excited to go to work, forget about the noise, and I feel like I I just added on to that for for our guys. Um, you know, for for myself, I got to look at myself as as the leader, protecting the team. I don’t feel like I I did that to the best of my abilities. I felt like I let the emotions of the game get to me after the game. And uh you know that’s something that I can learn from as a leader on this team and what happens in-house should be protected and none of that should have gotten out and so want to publicly apologize about that. Want to move forward and now I want to focus on Cleveland Browns. Got any questions? When moments like that how tough are those discussions when you have to have them when there’s like you said there’s a lot being said from all kinds of directions about what you said. How tough is it to sift through everything to make sure they get your point of what you meant and clear the air? Well, I think it’s the intent, right? What was the intent? And I think just the emotions, the built-up emotions after the game. No one wants to lose, but just not allowing myself to stay in the moment and, you know, just kind of get outside of that. Um, you know, you just have those kind of conversations. What is the intent? and then you kind of you kind of move from there. So, uh we’ve had some conversations with that. In general, do you feel at this moment that overall team culture is still an issue? I I I wouldn’t say so. Um having conversation with guys today, seeing the way guys are out there at practice, I wouldn’t say so. What sort of reaction have you gotten in your uh conversations with teammates? or they would you cl class classify it as understanding or anger or frustration or what’s well I I would say guys had questions about it right so you got to you got to answer those questions the why um and then some of the wise were like man at that time I didn’t think of it like that you know and so as I said that that’s something I got to be better with in protecting the team and uh you know just can’t do that. Why do you think it came out in that moment? I think you mentioned a little bit of frustration. Yeah, frustrated. Um and as I said like you just can’t happen, you know, like that. That’s one of the things you can’t happen or you can’t have happen. Um especially the way things are going for our team being one and five. I can see how how that can be misconstrued or whatever. not um after it being a loss too. So, who are some of the best leaders on the offense? You got Alec Ingode, you got uh Aaron Brewer, um Austin Jackson. Uh I mean, you you you got a lot of guys even even uh Devon Achan. Uh you you got a lot of guys and then vice versa with the defensive side. Jordan Brooks, you got Bradley Chub, Zack Cer, uh Minka Fitzpatrick, uh Tyrell Dodson, like you you got a good amount of guys. With those playerled meetings, what’s the benefit you guys get out of it? How would you classify how those meetings go? Well, I would say that’s something that you know, rule number one, protect the team. That’s something that I think we should be keeping inhouse. So, I don’t I I I don’t want to speak about that. when you’re losing games, is what is what kind of strain does that put on relationships among teammates, among coaches and players when you’re all have one goal in mind to win, but it’s not happening? Yeah, I I would say first and foremost, you get to see who a person really is as you’re going through the hardships, right? You get to see, okay, does this person start pointing fingers? Does this person, you know, take it upon themselves every time? How does everyone go about that? I think you kind of get a good gauge about the team that you have as well with with um with that. But I I would say there’s there hasn’t been any bickering or pointing of of fingers um lately. There’s there’s just guys that putting their head down trying to work and do the best that they can to put us in the best position to to win games. How was it playing through both the hip and the thumb elements? Yeah, that was that was uh it was good. I mean had some some plays off that that were off that I felt but got to keep going. What kind of challenge does Miles Garrett present on the other side? Uh he presents he presents a big challenge. um got to make sure that we’re accounting for him, knowing where he is at all times on the field, and then when he’s not on the field, uh you know, what do we want to do about that as well? Speaking of Miles Garrett, you know, we’ve seen Patrick Paul be kind of juiced for these matchups, right? He was juiced for Miles, juiced for Aiden Hutchinson, you know, during training camp. Just what does that do for a team to have a guy that’s just excited about those matchups? And then, you know, what’s your expectation for him? I think it tells you the the person and the mindset that that Pat comes into these games with having that opportunity to play against someone of Miles Garrett’s caliber, right? When he has that opportunity, he looks to always flourish every time. That’s the kind of mindset that he has. And so, the expectation that I have for him is to go out and do what he does. How much do you know Dylan Gabriel? Uh, obviously from the the same state, um, left-handed quarterback, same way. Um, and what do you think of uh how he’s going early in his career? Yeah, I mean, smooth thrower. I knew of him growing as he was growing up. Um, and then, you know, I think I think I might have played one year as he was he was maybe a freshman or something playing varsity. Um, but yeah, knew knew about him then and then as he you know, went into college and did his thing. smooth thrower, can run, you know, sees sees the field really well, and he’s a he’s a Hawaii boy. So, you know, you always got to support uh the guys from back home. Final question. Thanks, guys.

Keep your head up Tua!!!
He’s gonna throw someone new under the bus next Sunday
“How the media wants to portray it” mf you said it!!!! What a half ass apology
I hope the Brown's end his season so we don't have to hear him speak anymore
👍🏼
“ misconstrued or how the media wants to portray it ? What ? you said it smh
All heck breaking around him, no OL help, junk offensive play calling, historically bad defense, and this man is putting up 27 against the Chargers, almost averaging 27 per game, and he leaves the field with the lead, and his defense, poops on the field.
Without this QB, you're losing to the lesser QB Herbert by 30 instead of just 2 lowly points, when if we had a defense, we'd beat them by 20, and probably be 4-2 at least.
This is my QB!!!
Who cares wasn't even that big of a deal what he said. Point finger at the crap ass defense.
Tua just seems so frustrated of late even back to last year, doesn’t look like he’s having fun with anything
Tua tired of people😂
I’m still a dolphins fan
I love how the first 6 mins is just a big fat waste. At least we have mics!
I say just get a new Quarterback 🏈, Head Coach, and General Manager to start, because this is just not working. Tua and the Head Coach can't lead this team.
Tua, just tell them sorry about those comments let's move on Period !!! Now, questions about the Browns game!
Block out the noise and distractions PhinsUp 🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬
it kinda rubs me the wrong way that he aknowledges these guys with the first and last name…arent these guys buds? lol
He’s gotta go.
He is 27 years old .He is young . I think he is pretty mature for his age He is not the most well spoken .But he has a good attitude towards people . He is humble
I see the Miami Dolphins YouTube team is about as good at editing video as the defense is at stopping opposing teams. Half the video waiting for this guy to show up? Edit that shi*!
Can't wait to never have to see you play another snap for the dolphins. Not the problem but not the solution either
Worst defense in franchise history! Why should this guy care if they have him out there playing with scrubs?
TUA I love you brother BUT you need to take control of this team. From here on out there's no other leaders except YOU…. it's time! As leader you have the authority to demand mandatory or voluntary meetings. You're the QB and so you're the Captain of the ship!?
Who edits these. 5 min in before it starts?
MVP candidate 2022 and probably 2023 to this throwing 3 pics (mostly 2) and look I understand Tyreek hill is out for the season but jaylen waddle was you Wr 1 in 2021, you gotta step up. Go fins
I would never in my life, regardless of how anyone ever felt. I don’t care if it was immediate family, friends, or anything like that, including teammates, say something that I felt was genuine from my heart that I probably worded the wrong way and then turn around and apologize because that’s contradicting myself, regardless of what the organization says or thinks some of what he said was right should it have been kept in house of course, but there’s a ton of things that coaches players organizational staff and owners say that should be kept in the house so what live with it the more you tell the truth the better your results are gonna be in life now in the case of the Miami Dolphins. I don’t think that that’s the case at all until they change head coaches, but yeah, that’s usually the case.
Nice Earring
Bottom line he is damaged goods, one dimensional and a liability. He can't take a hit and all the other teams know it.
Is your team not capable of cropping 5m off the start of the clip?! 😂
The Dolphins media team edited this video with just as much effort as the Dolphins put in on Sundays
I understand. You don't want to call out the defense but my guy chill. You need to talk to the coaches. But you fd up with the interceptions. That's on you, you throw the ints not them
