REPORT: MAJOR New York Jets Trade Rumors & Buzz (10/15)
All right, guys. What’s going on? Welcome in. So, a huge, huge, huge article was just released over on ESPN. Dan Graciano, Jeremy Fowler. They’re diving into pretty much trade rumors involving all 32 teams, throwing out different names, throwing out different ideas, different situations, and what could potentially happen here. So, a lot of stuff to dive into. Let’s not waste time. Link, of course, is listed down below in the description box if you want to check it out. Let’s jump into this thing. First order of business is Jeremy Fowler talking about potential edge rushers for the 49ers. Name dropping Rashawn Garry, Jaylen Phillips, Bradley Chub, Germaine Johnson, Will McDonald, and Ardan Key. It’s super obvious to put two and two together, right? The 49ers really need help and edge. They’re trying to compete within the NFC West. It’s a complete win now team. Robert Salah is the defensive coordinator. He would love to link up with one of his old players. But here’s the deal. If I’m Darren Muji, I am not trading Will McDonald or Germaine Johnson unless I get a fantastic, fantastic package. Edge is such an important position to have and we are thin at it. We saw the impact that Germaine Johnson had on this defense, right? Germaine Johnson is under control for this season and next year. Will McDonald this year, next year, and the season after that. These are two young edge rushers with upsides. I am not moving on from one for a fourth round pick or a fifth round pick or something like that. Fourthrounder in a pick swap. Nope. Not doing it. I need to be actually blown away by a package. And if I’m not, I’m not moving on from them. I I’m simply not doing it. Um, now we of course can talk about other players in different situations. Maybe players that aren’t working out. maybe players that are on, you know, a an really an expiring contract that have no plans to come back. Different story. But I’m not trading two controllable edge pieces that are a the best on the team and b still have room to get better for some, you know, crappy package. I’m not doing it. And also, if you’re taking a look at the names on that list, my guess would be Bradley Chub is the one that gets moved. uh Bradley Chub or Ardan Key, but probably I would assume it’s it’s going to be Chub, right? His fit with the 49ers if they do make a move because again, we just talked about Johnson and McDonald, Rashawn Garry, the Green Bay Packers are not going to go help out San Francisco by giving them a, you know, premier premier player at a at a premier position. Bit of a mouthful. Uh and then Jaylen Phillips, you know, it’s another interesting name, but I I think Bradley Chub is the guy who’s a veteran. He can step in, slide in. He’s played on multiple teams. he can perform right away. Now, I’m not saying that both guys are completely off the table. They’re untouchable. I’m not picking up the phone. I’m not really in that camp. I will listen to offers and if I’m blown away by an offer, I’ll think about it, but it has to be a great offer. I’m not dumping these guys away for nothing, right? I I mean, you’re seeing what some of these guys are going for. You know, Harrison Phillips, you know, a pick swap, Jarvis Brownley, a pick swap. like these are good contributing players going for hardly anything at all. I’m not doing that with with one of these edge rushers. I’m sorry, but I’m simply not doing it. Next up, we have Dan Graziano talking about the injury to Fred Warner and how the 49ers may also not only just be in the business for adding an edge rusher, but also a linebacker and how Quincy Williams makes sense because Quincy has missed a lot of time this season for New York. He’s on an expiring deal. There’s a chance that he’s not going to be back with the team, right? you kind of feel like, okay, if the Jets really wanted him back and really viewed Quincy Williams as a long-term building block, they probably would have already discussed an extension maybe in the offseason, maybe in training camp, maybe early in the year. But, you know, again, up to this point, he’s hurt, he’s missed a lot of time, and he’s gonna come back or he’s projected to come back from his injury right before the trade deadline. So, could that be a potential quick pivot for Dar Muji? Hey, we’ve been without Quincy. We also have Francisco Malino who’s starting to really improve his game. I mean, man, he’s seen a lot of reps with Quincy out. He’s having to learn on the fly, but man, is he getting better? Like, that game against the Denver Broncos. Dude was awesome making plays up the line of scrimmage, wrapping up in open field. Like, what a sweet find. Could Darren Mucci basically just say, “All right, let’s just continue on this path.” Oh, Quincy will uh Quincy Williams is healthy. Instead of saying, “Ma, no, no, you go to the bench and Quincy is just going to play from here on out until the end of the year and then just walk at free agency. How about we pivot from Quincy, we pick up a draft pick, and we just continue on with Malwanoa and Sherwood as the two starting linebackers?” That’s definitely a realistic thought, even though it kills me to say it because Quincy Williams is my favorite player on this Jets team, and he has been for years. I have to leave my biases aside. And if if he’s not going to be back, it’s the smart long-term idea for an NFL franchise to move on from a guy early when you know he’s not going to be back and you can actually get something of value for him. So, it does make sense. Next up, this is also from Dan Graciano here in regards to Bree Hall. He says, “The name that comes up most is Jets running back Breeze Hall. is 24 years old and in the final year of his deal and the Jets have made no move to sign him longterm. Brillan Allen is out due to knee injury which complicates things for the Jets from a 2025 depth chart perspective but Allen is only 21 years old and is under contract for two more years after this one. Same thing with Isaiah Davis. He goes on to talk about how the Chiefs might be a fit, the Texans might be a fit and also the LA Chargers. I would go as far as to say, you know, Chicago Bears as well. Like there’s a lot of teams that you can just throw out, hey, who needs a running back? You know, who needs a a good young dynamic running back um that can do multiple things? Like Bree Hall is just simply a fit for many teams in football. Uh the question is how will the Jets look without Breeze Hall? Because I feel like at this point he’s not going to be resigned. Again, if the Jets truly viewed Bree Hall as like this long-term building block who they wanted for five years, they would have given it given him a deal already. You had the whole like Instagram, you know, cryptic post from Bree Hall. Personally, I don’t really like to look into all that stuff too, you know, too too much here. But trading Bree Hall is definitely a reality, but it comes at the cost of the remaining games in 2025. But, you know, if I’m Darren Muji, I’m looking at my contract. I signed a five-year deal. I got to rebuild this thing. The New York Jets were a dysfunctional, disorganized mess for god knows how long. I can’t just clean everything up. I can’t make be, you know, be making decisions in the short term. The New York Jets are not going to be winning a Super Bowl this season. They’re not going to be winning the AFC East this this season. It’s just simply the bottom line. So, if I’m Muji, I’m not going to make a short-term move, dig my heels into the sand and say, “Well, Breece is a good player and I don’t know what the offense is going to look like without him. So, therefore, we’re going to keep him and then once the offseason hits, he’s just going to walk for nothing.” If I can go and and, you know, bring back a pick, bring back a mid round pick or something for Breeze, I’m going to do that. That’s just me though, not saying I’m right. That’s just my personal opinion. I would love to hear your thoughts down below in the description box. Would you hang on to Breeze? Would you want to resign him? Do you feel like, you know, that that opportunity is gone at this point or do you trade him? And here’s the last point regarding our squad. The Jets will be a focus for teams looking to poach key players at the trade deadline, most notably Will McDonald and Germaine Johnson. New York wanted to get back from London before making any sweeping determinations of whether to move players. My sense is the Jets would perform more modest moves. Think about Michael Carter II over a nickel corner, but much will depend on the type of offers New York receives for key players. Yeah. So, Michael Carter is brought up here. I hate to sound rude because Michael Carter is also or has been one of my favorite players for a long time. his, you know, his backstory, him coming into the Jets as like this underdog scrappy nickel corner coming out of Duke, not really looked at as like a starting caliber player in the draft, and then Solid just comes in and it’s like, “Nope, that’s going to be our starting nickel.” And it freaking works out and he’s great. I love Michael Carter. At one point, I I was really, really close to picking up a Michael Carter jersey, but again, much like Quincy Williams, I have to keep, you know, when I’m making videos like this, I I need to keep my biases aside. I gotta be objective with what I’m seeing on the field. And up to this point, Michael Carter has been injured with multiple injuries. And he’s also not looked good. The fact of the matter, Jarvis Brownley in one game. One game against the Denver Broncos has given us more production than Michael Carter in four combined. That is saying something. Michael Carter is one of the highest paid slot corners in the National Football League. Jarvis Brownley is in year two of a rookie deal. He’s under control for this season, next season, and the season after that. And he’s an upgrade. Like, that is top tier general managing from Darren Muji, right? He went out and identified a player on a cheap rookie deal who no, you know, not many Titans fans actually saw that trade happening. Not many Jets fans saw that trade happening. It just came out of left field randomly in like the middle of the week. Boom. The Jets are acquiring Jarvis Brown Lee, okay? Someone who can play on the inside, outside, someone who has a lot of reps, who’s a former mid round pick and he’s shown a lot of potential and he just so happens to fit the system perfectly. Darren Muji identified a like a an instant upgrade over what we currently have and he managed to secure that player, a cheap young controllable player who can still get better for a pick swap. So in other words, we can move on from Michael Carter. can save a bunch of money and we don’t have to worry about finding his replacement, spending a second round pick on a nickel corner. Know that replacement is already here and will be here for at least the next two and a half years. So yeah, I’m all as much as I love Michael Carter, the person, really cool dude, I don’t mind if the Jets trade Michael Carter. It’s just the smart thing to do from a football standpoint. Um, now again, you come back to the Will McDonald, Germaine Johnson thing. I don’t want to move those guys. I really freaking don’t. But if the offer is sweet, if the offer like Germaine is is someone who I would honestly start negotiating like an extension with this season, whether it’s now, whether it’s two weeks, whether it’s like once the offseason hits, like I I am totally down to actually give Germaine Johnson like a long-term deal. Like I I think he’s that good. I love how versatile he is. He does like a lot of things pretty good. He can set the edge. He can stop the run. He can get in the back field. He has great size and power. Um you can play him, you know, you you can play Germaine Johnson as like a standup outside linebacker in like a 34 where he can rush the passer. Traditional 4-3 DN. Like Germaine is just this like moldable piece. I I mean it shouldn’t come as a shock that people around the league want Germaine Johnson. Like he was a first round pick for a reason. So, ah, I don’t want to see either of those two guys go. Will McDonald is interesting because you kind of feel like a lot of his production come comes in spurts and you just look at the athletic upside and it’s just crazy. But, you know, as far as talking about an extension with Will McDonald, I I feel like that’s a little a, you know, a little too early for me. Um, because we still have so many, you know, so much time with him under control on his rookie deal. Um whereas again with Johnson, it’s this year and next year, you know, with next year being the fifth year option. So it’s totally normal to, you know, for a team that wants to keep a guy like them to start negotiating uh to start negotiating an extension, excuse me. So anyway, let me know your thoughts down below in the comments section. Thanks so much for watching. I appreciate it. And uh yeah, let me know your thoughts. Who are you trading away? Do you want to keep everybody? Do you want to resign everybody? Or are you saying, “Look, the Jets are a winless football team right now. Maybe they have one, two, three wins at the trade deadline or something, which I believe is week 10. It got pushed back for this season. Are you still making the move or you know, I’m curious to hear your thoughts. Really, really curious. So, anyway, thanks so much and as always, go Jets.

Fowler: “Other potential options I suspect the 49ers will check on include edge rushers Rashan Gary (Packers), Jaelan Phillips (Dolphins), Bradley Chubb (Dolphins), Jermaine Johnson (Jets), Will McDonald IV (Jets) and Arden Key (Titans)”
Graziano: If the Jets are dealing players, as most people seem to expect they will, could linebacker Quincy Williams (who’s playing on the final year of his contract) make sense for San Francisco?
“The name that comes up most is the Jets’ Breece Hall. He’s 24 years old and in the final year of his contract, and the Jets have made no move to sign him long term. Braelon Allen is out because of a knee injury, which complicates things for the Jets from a 2025 depth-chart perspective.”

Already calling brownlee an upgrade over Carter after one game is why your a miserable jets fan. Just dumb
We need to keep Breece but at the right price. I want to like Braelon Allen but there is a significant talent drop off between him and Breece. When Breece leaves the field (which annoys the mess outta me) the offense struggles. Breece should not leave the field in my opinion even on 3rd down, he may have the second best hands on the team.
Man JC yr after yr you take time out your day to give us content on this sorry ass team….i been a fan since 97 i was blessed to see parcells take us to the playoffs, Herm, & Rex….i feel bad for the fans that have never seen the Jets be good. GOD BLESS you your patience hope & determination….they need to give you a spot on the team
JJ is a guy a def needs.passionate plays hard and a leader.. there’s cap to sign him next yr.. I hate to see JJ go.
Trade quinnen! we need to go 0-17. Can’t lose this Mendoza kid to saints or some other team.
How do u feel moving mc2 to safety?
All sorts of rumors are going to fly now that the Jets are 0-6 and about to be 0-7 this week. Edge cannot be traded away though! Edges, Tackles, Sauce, and Garrett should be untouchable.
Why are we not resigning hall
Trade both brothers Williams to 49ers
Not the Trading JJ, or McDonald, Q95, Breece, G5, Sauce. BREECE IS NOT TRADEABLE, We have 1 healthy RB. RUMORS make zero sense lol. Re-sign for two years. He knows the system with allen
Bye to Lazard , Clemons, Michael carter, adams, quincy possibly if we get a pick and WR
If we get rid of mcdonald or jj im out. I'm just rooting for Mayfield lol
What would be the point? Just weakening ourselves more.
Carter can go. Hall not sure I am on the fence on him. If we can draft a better player than Hall I am down for that. I want to keep our DE ‘s. I think Will McDonald still needs to prove himself. Trade away all the bad safeties. Who really wants our bad Safeties? I would only let Q go if he gets on a team that can win a Super Bowl. I like Q. 🏈💭🤔😀✌️
U ARE TRIPPING I DONT CARE WHAT PACKAGE U GET IM NOT TRADING JJ HE IS THE TOUGHEST PLAYER WE HAVE!! HEART OF THE DEFENSE ‼️
Our GM is quietly dining a good job. The players he has picked up at little cost to are contributing and as time goes on the draft picks look better and better.
it took the Jets forever to get young pass rushers… to then trade away would be rough…
Breece should go. This season is a wash and we should be looking to land the number one pick. We have to keep any key player with a contract beyond this season unless they are giving us a 1st or 2nd rounder. Blowing it up and starting over is hardly the solution especially if this past draft is our measuring stick for what Mougey is capable of.
Great point on Quincy and that is really smart- regardless of how much we love Quincy
What is the worst fear of any great franchise…that their talent gets poached or leaves in free agency. The Jets have been bad for so long they need to stop changing and build with their consistent stars.
I would not trade either Jermaine Johnson or Wil McDonald. They are key starters and would have to be replaced with a high draft pick. Are the Jets seriously going to draft 2 edge rushers the caliber of Johnson & McDonald. Also, given what we have learned about the importance of depth, how could the Jets seriously consider trading either of these guys? They are players the Jets should be building around, not trading. I would reconsider trading one of them only if there was an edge rusher the caliber of Micah Parsons or Abdul Carter or Nick Bosa or TJ Watt in this year's draft. Those guys are beasts, total game changers. But the Jets need players to build around, not draft picks hoping the GM uses them wisely.
JJ is a hard NO … Will Mc I'm OK with for a reasonable return
I’m praying that we keep Breece man.
better get a 1st or at least TWO 2ND FOR HALL…
JJ and Will have to be a minimum of a 2 and a mid. 3 years of Will might get a 1 if they’re desperate. Breece is anything less than a 3 you keep him. Quincy and Simpson I’d be ecstatic with a 4 but probably take the 5.
Let’s just trade the whole organization to London that way I can no longer care
