[Highlight] JJ Watt: “I’ve heard personal stories of Uber Drivers telling NFL passengers that they break down film for PFF. That they watch the TV copy ONLY and put a grade out. You can’t watch film on a TV copy and make a grade. PFF player grading SUCKS. Stop putting it out.”

  1. Nah JJ doesn’t understand that Uber drivers pulling up the All-22 pausing every 10 seconds to take notes a real hard part time PFF worker

  2. The major issue with PFF is their grading process is entirely opaque. You can’t go “ok, let’s me look at why they gave this guy this grade.” You can’t go see an individual game, broken down to individual plays, and see what they were looking at. That’s the major issue.

  3. I’ve literally been saying the exact same thing that JJ said about assignments and roles of players in the defensive unit, every time somebody criticised D-Rob and called him a bust. The coaching staff have said they were happy with his performances, they kept giving him snaps. He was taking 60% double teams. His assignment was not always to get to the quarterback, but PFF seems to grade d line as if they should only ever get to the QB every play.

PFF also likes to grade popular players higher, guys like Garrett, Watt, Parsons etc, PFF will assign blame to somebody else when those guys miss a play. But usually when rating Murray for example they blame him for receiver drops quite often.
