He is on Pat’s show quite a bit. This is nothing out of the blue.
He is unemployed.
Watching it right now. I get the sense the ring and his daughter’s championship is more about bragging on his daughter than anything else. Of course, I could be completely wrong but it was all about both bragging on his daughter and also, keeping her in her place a bit for talking shit about the size of her ring.
Lmao. He probably is my current top candidate, but this is just funny. It’s like I haven’t seen the guy in ages but all of a sudden he pops up this week like a cicada.
Future job candidates and agents are working overtime this week. I can guarantee that Art Smith and Matt Nagy’s names got floated by Schefter through their agents immediately after it was announced Callahan was fired. In fact I’m sure the agent had known for a while or was preparing for the firing just so they could plan their strategy.
Bet an agent got him on this show to be interviewed. “Hey, you want a job… here’s an interview we’ll book for you to get your name out there just make sure you mention the human element of getting fired because Callahan’s one of our clients too and we want to humanize him and get him another job. Also, the more candidates we push for work the higher the price will go, and so the higher our commissions will be.”
It’s like the agent worked with him to make his background. Let’s get a few photos of your family, your greatest achievement as a coach, a bunch of binders to help with the imagine of you being an offensive guru and a hard working coach, and here are some plants to make it look like you aren’t in your basement. Now make the rings and trophy look even bigger by projecting the ring to fill up almost half the frame.

But this guy knows how to win, knows how to coach a quality QB, and brings a ton of stability. Sign me up.

I wouldn’t be upset hiring him I guess, but damn it’s so uninspiring. This dude has Aaron Rodgers and Dak Prescott his whole career and won one championship. And that now feels fluky as hell. Agree it would raise the floor. But I think it’s a lower ceiling with him.
If we want an experienced guy, I’m really leaning Brian Flores. Not sure he’d want us tho.

do i think he’s the greatest coach ever? no but he has seen more success than every single coach we’ve had combined since fisher. i think we have to at least take a chance on someone who has proven himself. i just think its frustrating how much this sub has been shitting on him. if he wants to give it a go in TN, why not?

* mike mccoy – any chargers fan i’ve talked to has RECOILED as his name. the team literally moved cities after his reign.
* Callahan – no previous HC experience (no playoffs in TN)
* Vrabel – no previous HC experience
* Mularkey – 2 years in BUF (no playoffs), 1 year in JAX (2-14), interim for titans for half a year, then consecutive 9-7 seasons (that Mariota TD pass to himself will forever be one of the coolest memories)
* Whisenhunt – he had a run in AZ, and that 1 super bowl appearance with Kurt Warner, but his time in TN was the darkest timeline (no playoffs in TN)
* Munchak – no previous HC experience (no playoffs in TN)
Forget where I saw it but Brian Flores is a guy id forgotten about. Think he might be on the short list of candidates especially if were moving on from Dennard

This would be acceptable, or at least I’ve come around to him. I’m assuming the next HC will have to have been a HC in the NFL AND can fill out a coaching staff without hiring his buddies. I hope Bones stays regardless.
