Senators @ Sabres Game Highlights
court is awesome. Yeah, fantastic place. Ball field over in Grand Island, Larry Playfair, a big part of building that and it’s been great. Every opportunity we get, we get over there, we play with the kids, whether it’s beeper ball or just the regular ball. It’s a lot of fun. We’ll have a lot more eyes on his play with Kachchuck out of the lineup. He has the puck now. Plays it back to the point for a shot. Rebound off the pad save and that was worked on by Stutzel. Sabres try to clear. They do get it outside the line. Alex Tuck doing the work there on the wall. Bodies to the front of the net. We got to make it a little more difficult on the opposition goalending. Alex Truck trying to take away from Karan down on the corner. Comes back to the 37y old veteran out of Sherbrook, Quebec for Ottawa. But the Sabres getting a fortuitive bounce there, but they can’t turn it into a shot. Ottawa comes back with a twoman push and Lion with the same. Ottawa gets it to the line and now it’ll be carried in. Sanderson with a dish to the wing. Three Senators below the goal line. This in out front for a clear shot. And Lion came well out to challenge the shot to make that save. Page Thompson with the puck now in across the line. He’ll play it to the wing. Return to Tage on the wall. He pops it back up top. Dene sends it in for Byron down low into the slot and that shot off the glass. Goes in the net. Sabres get a power play goal. Don’t know if you drew it up like that, but Quinn is going to get it. It doesn’t matter at this point, Dan, just to get that first one. They’re all coming off with a smile on their face. So, it makes a huge difference. Here’s the Sabres just getting this puck through to the net. Bo Arum slides that one back to Jack Quinn in the slot area and it goes right off the leg, the bat, the arm of the goalender. A turn at Albuquerque there and stays on side. Steers get it in the zone. Get out. Get out. That’ll be kept in by Byron at the far point. Valenstein lets that one ride. Power comes down from the break point, crashing after it into the corner, trying to dig it free. Holds it, sends it to the net just wide to the near side. Ottawa gets to center with seven minutes remaining in this opening period. Visitors changing. Shot from the slot is blocked. staying with it for a quick shot. Large Eller Sabers able to turn that one away and get the play back onto the wall. Power play straight out. That went straight out. He’ll get another shot at it here and a clear lane to fire it down into the Ottawa zone. 23-y old out of Whitefish, Montana. Sanderson, number 85, starts the rush in behind the net. Stuts leaves it. Here’s a pass into the slot. Shot goes up into the white netting and some frustration by Sanderson after that. They know the Ottawa Centers are going to make that pass. Having the stick in that lane once again able to pick it off and goes 200 ft. Alex Tuck stands up at the line. You’ve got two going forward here. 3 seconds left in the kill. Alex Tuck off the post. Comes back out to Dalene. Ottawa changing a lane here for Byron. Right side. Byram walks in. Pass across. Shot is blocked and the Senators take it away and just lift it down the ice. Sabres get it up quickly to dome. Sabres fans trying to give their team some extra juice here with a one- nothing lead in the first period. Impressive play on the wall. All is good. Arms stay down. Physical play. Thompson out there. Puck pops free. Shot deflects off a stick. Dolene defending Mario who plays it back to the line. Here’s the shot. Tipped in front. They score. Stutzla standing in front of the net and he ties his game at one. It’s going to be Stutzel’s first goal of this season here. Ottawa just throwing pucks to the net. They gain control here. Just a quick shot from the point right here. Stutzel is the only one standing in front there. Darlene’s following it on the the left side and he has got to be present right there in front. Catch your breath at the same time. Den and Byron north of a minute 10 on this shift. Balance. He is hit hard by Zoo as he tried to kind of back his way out of the zone. Sabres now to change. Ottawa from their own line. That’s off the boot of Zetterland. Ammanio will follow Stutzilla in. Stutzel gets it back at the near circle. The high slot shot is stopped. Centerland out of the corner with it off the wall. Stutz carries it still with it to the goal line. Bumps it in front and line with a big stop. Penalty coming into the savers. Little tripping call once again. Alex Duck broke a stick out there. So he was short his stick. Goal line feed. Greg in front and he was right in the lap of Lion. couldn’t turn it to the net and the Sabres get it outside the zone. Ottawa changing. 35 seconds to go in the kill. It’s a 1-1 game. We’re in the second period if you’re just joining us. 1613 to go. Here’s Dylan Cousins right side. Drives the net and an active stick keeps that one out. Lion now at the far post trying to keep that eye glued there as they jam away at it countless number of times. Dylan Cousins suggesting that puck was over the line at some point. That’s the call on the ice. The call on the ice, I believe, is a goal. No, the call on the ice was no, there was no goal until they talked and then they decided it was a goal. Is it waved off behind the net or what’s Oh, I can see the There you go. But the puck right now is underneath Alex Lion’s blocker. No, it’s between his legs. Over the line. Between his legs. There it is. The whistle was well after. Yeah, he’s doubled that total by the time the season’s done. Senators gain the line with 33 seconds to go. Left side of the injury. Nobody back up the point. That’s going to come out. Pass onto the wing. Pinto to the slot and a quick shot stopped by Lion as Eller set that one up. Plays it back to the point. Oh, a penalty coming up. Alex Tuck is going to get a slashing. He came down and he broke the stick. Peron and there’s still 11 seconds left on that bench penalty for slashing. We’ll take a look at it right here. And he’s battling for the puck and he comes down across Peron stick. It snaps in half. Malenstein racing over. Pass gets away from Timonss. Sanderson to the far circle with it. Senators up top. Got a minute and a half to go in this power play. 2-1 lead for Ottawa. And that puck’s going to get outside the line. That’s offside. Laid off side here. Yeah, hold on to it. Hold on to it. Hold on to it. Stall his time here. Good move by Kimmons there. Smart move. Sabres parking in behind. Levy Marilini who turns it over. Here’s a chance. Oh, Marilini doesn’t have it. Here’s a shot. Scores. Tie game. Mloud ends up with the puck and buries it in the back of the net and we’re tied at two. just by good pressure, bad puck handling of the goalender right there. Put himself in a bad position and the Sabres able to capitalize on their sixth shot. Tie it up. Mloud had three short-handed goals last year. He picks up one here tonight to tie it. And here comes Ottawa on the counter. 44 to go in their power play. Over on the far wall with it is Peron. comes behind the Buffalo net. Savers with a chance to clear. Held in at the line. Now a chance for a breakaway. Here’s Mloud one-on-one. Mloud digs and it’s Carolina with the save at the far post. Save made by Lion off the shot taken by Stitz who has it in the corner. Stutzless hammers. He’s trying to make a curl move inside. Goes behind the net. Howard defending laid back to the line. No shot yet as Spence sends it around behind the net. Good tie up on the wall there by Bergen. Stutza knocked Krebs to the ice. No call. Fans reacting to that after the plethora of calls that Buffalo’s work their way through and Cleven turns it up ice. Partial break here for the Senators, but a great stick by Rasmus Dene as he gets lick stick onto the wing. Good defensive play. Stepping up there’s Johnson. Kept in by Shabbat. Pass to the corner. Hits a stick and now Don with a touch pass. Here comes Mloud again in across the Ottawa line. Tuck drops it. Johnson shot. Rebound side of the net. It’s up in the air. Carolina not had a lot of work and he’s not handled the puck clean. Here’s Alex Tuck. Scores. Alex Tuck parked in front of the net and the Sabres have the lead back. It’s three to2. Here come the Sabres fans. They’ve been waiting for this shot stopped by Carolina, but another rebound as time is cleared out to center. Short pass by Power. He’ll continue his way towards the net. Pass in front. It’s blocked that shot. Sabers up top. Timonss far circle creeping in. No shot by power and Ottawa will not get it out. That puck goes out of play over in the area of the team benches. And look out at the Ottawa bench. That’s power I believe in there along with Krebs. Timmons. Timonss is going to drop the gloves right in front of Razer. Oh, he’s getting molested to the ice by Pinto taking him down. Everybody’s got somebody here. Good to see getting involved. A little emotion here popping up. Dan, well, it all started with that second call, the call against Alex Tuck and the energy. As I said, sometimes you can turn that into a positive and they certainly have done that as Alex Tuck was part of against Nashville. the power player at the point. So, see if the Sabres have plan to work it down low and get that odd man in front of the net. Here’s Tage Thompson behind the net. He’ll find Dolan. It’s Benson on top now. Last man back. Keeps it in at the line. Savers now have some ice. Sucker creeps in. Sucker on the power play and the Sabres do double up the lead. It’s four to two. It’s a big goal here. Power play so far. Getting the two here tonight in this game. Nice battle by Don once again. You got to love the way this guy plays the game. He plays it hard. And Hemp at the line. Yes, it will. Swept down low by power. Senators will not get it out again. Kept in by Mloud. His pass gets to Alex. Tuck in a shot. Maryland to the save with the rebound. Nice pass in front. Traffic right in front of the net trying to get to that puck. That’s not a high stick for Buffalo. So, it continues. Mloud just get it to the net and the Sabres almost tap another one in life here tonight. He’s played a very, very strong game in this first game back. And even though we’re in the visor, you know what you’re going to get from this guy. He battles. He battles hard and he drives this team when they need a little push. Here’s Don out from behind the net. He’ll leave it for Rasmus Dolene. Gets right with the puck and drops it back. Ridley Greg in the box for Ottawa. Savers with a chance here on the power play again. Here are 0 for coming in. They got another one. Jason Zucker with the deflection. Backto back goes by Zucker. And the Sabres are up five to2. Bodies to the net once again. There’s Don and even though it was a redirected puck by Sanderson. Puts it right over to Zucker and it goes in off him. Doesn’t matter. It gets into the back of the net and everybody’s feeling a lot better about themselves. trying to play it up. Byron, one hand on the stick as he tries to make a play on that puck. Senators with two in front of the net. Ottawa starting out with Sanderson Pinto Craig and Spence against Thompson, Benson, Kulie, Hyram, and Dolene play in behind the Buffalo net. Sanderson playing it around. that goes off the bar and in from the boards to the back of the net. And just like that, the Ottawa Senators get one back. Yeah, Pinto with a nice nice deflection here. Going to get his fifth goal of the year. This puck comes off the right wall here. And Pinto just kind of all by himself just coming over in support more than anything. This puck was wrapped around. There’s Pinto and a nice redirection right there. goes right up over the left shoulder of Alex Lion as I would expect you’re going to see Ottawa do more the wall to the corner trying to get his stick on it. Bounced over his stick again goes behind the Buffalo net. Sabres playing up the wall and finds a way to center. Sanderson and Zoo the defense pairing for Ottawa making their way up towards center. That’s going to go out of the reach of the forward on the play. Now in front they score. Alex Lion came out to play the puck and it results in an open man eventually. They had a one-on-one chance there and Eller gets the goal. Yes, it’s now a onegoal game. That’s what I talked about. You can’t go to sleep here and Lenny Ruff has been very vocal here since the beginning of this period making sure his guys stay on their toes. You just can’t take this lead for granted. going in and there’s the quick pass. Told you they’ve spent an awful lot of time here in the Saber zone the first two and a half. Dome Tuck and Mloud on the ice for Buffalo. Here is Alex Tuck. Mloud with a score. Oh, baby. Mloud lets it rip and the Sabres get one back. It’s six to four. Now there, that’s what the timeout does. It gets guys heads back straight again. And nice job by Don again on the wall. He’s going to feed Alex Tuck and he’s just going to draw that defender to him. He knew what he exactly what he wanted to do. You see him take that quick look and Mloud slows up enough to get that separation between him and the defenseman. So when he does get the puck, he’s able to take the shot, get it off, not get it blocked, and up over the right arm. Zooker with a conversation behind the plate. The Senators gain center in the Buffalo line. Studs pass across. It goes under escape. Chance for an oddman rush. Three savers up ice. Pass across. Twins scores. Sabres with a couple of counter punches here against Ottawa. Seven to four in the third. Well, you got Ottawa being a little aggressive here in the offensive zone and by doing that they’re getting caught right here able to come up with this one. He’s got Jack Quinn. Nice pass to him. He gets it to him early enough. Colleen trying to lift it out but Ottawa will keep it in for Sanderson. Stutzler gets it back. Sanderson with a shot. Traffic there and that is stopped. Ottawa calling for a reachin penalty there. They don’t get it. Kak in behind the net goes for a spill over the near wall. Timmons and a few sabers over a minute 10 some a minute 20 into their shifts. Getting a change in now. Ottawa turn it over at the line. Tage Thompson plays it up ahead to Benson. Benson back to Thompson. Holds it. He’s got Benson in front. Thompson looking for it. Pass across. They score. Yuri Koulik. Tage was holding it looking for Benson for all the work he’s done. And Yuri Koulik is the one who winds up with it. It’s 84 Buffalo. I like that nobody was greedy and going for the net. They were looking for their teammates. That is a good sign. See K gets the first one blocked by Sanderson and then he’s just follow up and able to tap the rebound past him.

More content like this, please! No one else combines the scoring & the ruff stuff in a game summary. Brilliant.
Dahlin looks like a pylon out there! Not his night
love the sabres content
Just give Buffalo the cup! 😂
Your highlights are SO much better than SportsNet. I’m watching the same game, because you don’t. DONE with SN.
Wow, great turnaround by Buffalo after those bad penalties they took. Thanks for sharing these great extended highlights, which tell the story of the game really well. How bad were Ottawa, though? Yikes…..
I think the same company that made Rob Ray's sweaters got into the stick business this year.
Nice of buffalo to wear white so sens could show off the half flyers half ducks version of the jersey.
More full game highlights!!! All the fights, scrums and goals are just what we need
owen power checking people and standing up for himself and others..I almost thought someone else was wearing his jersey!
I’d prefer this style without any saves except 10 bell saves. But I like the format of these generally
Love this type of video! It would be great if you could make these type of videos for all physical games that get out of hand
Sabres turned their season around at this game!
Really appreciate these more comprehensive highlights you're making. I know it might make these clips a bit longer than you hope, but if i could offer a small suggestion, it would be amazing if you included every penalty every time. I think it's really important to understanding the game to see which players are taking (and drawing) what kinds of penalties. Anyway thanks for all you do!
Why is buffalo in white ?
what a show of awful goaltending
Ottawa what a joke 😂😂
11:36 does he say hes getting molested to the ice?????????
Disappointed highlights
Excellent video, enjoyed the transitions between periods. Regardless of how simple they were
I’m hoping NHL continues to let fans have pretty much free will with using game footage. Hopefully they don’t go the MLB route and threatening to remove content not posted by approved channels
