End of 2nd Period Scrum, Canes @ Ducks

out there. Trouba able to get over the boards. Now it’s Kornne to Carlson over the top again. Kne gets it back into the slot. Leo got his own rebound and couldn’t get the shot away as it rolled off his stick to the corner. Well, you can see Anaheim, they are definitely targeting the top of the net against Freddy Anderson. They just missed so many times by shooting high over top of the crossbar. Watch this play by Carlson. See how he opens up, makes himself available. He did not miss by much. Tries to go glove side. Got his rebound. That was a good stop by Anderson who got out to the top of the goal crease in a hurry. Ducks went the first half of the period without a shot on goal. They’ve got 10 unofficially now in this second period. They put a couple of ten of seconds back on the clock. So 3.1 off the icing call. McTavish wins the draw. Carlson stick knocked out of his hands by Walker. And that will bring an end to the period, but it will not bring an end to the togetherness on the ice between the Canes and Ducks. Keandre Miller mixing it up with McTavish. And now Senica and Jackson Blake have to be separated. And the goalies are Henderson gets in. That’s not a good idea because that brings Stall into the frame. We got Senica. Senica in the corner now with Stanovven and the referee gets between them. So what will come of all this? We may not know for a while. Mason McTavish getting an escort to the Anaheim bench and he’s not interested in it. And you might ask why Lucas Dol skates the length of the ice. That’s because he saw Freddy Anderson leave his goal crease first. McTavish has been deposited on the Anaheim bench. The same will be the case for Jackson Blake as he gets an escort to the Carolina bench. There was only 3 seconds left in the period here. Here’s Watch Mcavish off the draw. He gets his hand up on Stankhov and there’s a response and then Keandre Miller comes in and gets McTavish in a headlock. Takes his helmet off. Lome make sure that Keandre Miller is going to be tied up. And then when Anderson comes out, I love to see Lucas Doyle say, “Uh-uh, not going to give you a man advantage there, Freddy.” And for the officials, it gets a little dicey cuz the period is over. You got players all over the place. Gudas and Stall, the respective captains use the opportunity to not only get information from the Zebras, but to exchange words themselves. Listen, John, this period was two periods in one. The first 10 minutes dominated by the Canes. Last half, it was the Ducks that had the better the scoring chances. I mean, they had way more chances that they weren’t able to hit the net on. I mean, if they could have hit the net on a few of those, these shots would be virtually dead

  1. Anaheim was so close, they just weren't getting the right bounces on the rebounds. They just let off the gas and lost confidence after missing the powerplay to start the third. If they capitalized on those chances in the 2nd they would've been leading going into the third.

  2. A great example on how useless the linesmen are. Duck's player gets elbowed, responds, gets jumped by a third guy from behind and this douche is holding back the next ducks player who is trying to tie up the third man in.
