Chicago Bears Now: Live News & Rumors + Q&A w/ Harrison Graham
[Music] Hey, hey, hey. [Music] [Music] [Music] Heat. Hey. Hey. Hey. [Music] What’s up everybody? Welcome into Chicago Bears Now. My name is Harrison Graham. Appreciate everybody for waiting in the chat and tuning in here on a Thursday. We got a jam-packed show for you guys as the Bears are gearing up for the Saints on Sunday as uh it’s a big game, important game. Uh the Saints one and five, feisty team playing better than their record. Bears coming off an emotional win. So should be a fun day. We’ll have some storylines to get into for that game. You got Caleb vers Rattler, Dennis Allen revenge angle. Uh is this a trap game? Lot to discuss uh when it comes to that matchup. Did my full preview episode this morning. So after today’s live show, if you want to check that out, that is available for you in the content tab. So plenty of content for you guys that’s already out there. and that is to come today. But Colin feels like the, you know, today we’ve officially moved past Monday Night Football. You know, usually it’s the 24-hour rule. Kind of lingered into yesterday when uh Caleb was asked about the Aman stuff, but uh feels like we can finally turn the page to uh to Sunday against the Saints. Uh which is always nice. Yeah, I mean look, you know, obviously coming off a Monday Night Football game in which, you know, the commentary was uh let’s call it questionable, you know, in terms of the professionalism that was exuded uh throughout. Uh there’s going to be storylines coming out of that. And I think Caleb handled it uh really well. I thought he handled it like a professional. And look, I mean, you know, in a match up with two NFC foes like that that came down to the literal wire. Uh there was always going to be a little bit of kind of aftermath that we were going to discuss, but now we, as you mentioned, we turn to the Saints. And listen, you cannot overlook this matchup this week. You’re building momentum. You’ve won three straight. You’re, you know, fighting for your pecking order as you mentioned in the NFC. And the Saints, listen, despite their record, they will give you a tough battle here on Sunday. And the Bears need to be ready for it. Yeah, I agree. I expect them to punch the Bears in the mouth and uh I expect the Bears to absorb it and uh and and handle it well. But uh yeah, you know, this would be one of those if you lost it, it would it be like a season defining catastrophic loss? I wouldn’t say that, but it would be a setback. I mean, there’s no way around it. Like you’ve got the momentum like you’ve said, but uh this would be a disappointing loss if it were to take place. So, the theme of the week’s been focus. Hopefully the boys are uh focused, locked in, ready to go. I trust this coaching staff to have this team ready to play on Sunday. A couple super chats rolling in here earlier. Will Williams says, “Is Nan Wright a liability?” I mean, is he horrible? No. Is he a starting level corner? I would say also no. He’s made a few plays. The pick six in week one was a huge one. Um, you know, it was a Commander mistake more than a Bears forced error, but he did have to jump on that fumble on the missed exchange between Jaden Daniels and Bill Crosky Merritt. So, uh, you know, on a wet, uh, night in Washington. You give him credit for that. But listen, he’s a backup level corner. I think he’s an improved player. Before this year, he’s kind of been a journeyman that was really more of a practice squad guy. Uh, I do think he’s improved to the point where he’s a backup level player. Listen, your number one corner’s out. This is this is kind of what you get in the NFL. Like the Bears had a luxury uh the first two or the last couple of years with Terrell Smith who played like a at least a decent starter even though he was really a backup. And unfortunately, uh he’s out for the year. So, in a lot of ways, you’re kind of on your fifth corner with Nan Wright. And so, when you put it into those terms, Colin, I would say I don’t know how much you can complain about his level of play. At the same time, and we’re going to talk about this, um, can you find someone that could be an upgrade there? Is is there a player out there that the Bears could explore on the trade market? Uh, a source told me the Bears are sniffing around the cornerback market. So, we’ll discuss that on today’s show. But, um, I think for what a realistic expectation is for a level for a player of Nan Wright’s level, and I know there was a lot of hype in training camp, but, uh, given his career up to this point, has he been good? No. But, like, when you put the full context in there, it’s not like he’s been just embarrassingly bad. No, I I think to be honest when you’re a backup in this league, the main reason that you’re, you know, a rotational player, a guy expected to come off the edge is uh or come off the bench, excuse me, not the edge, uh is you’re expected to kind of fill in for an adequate amount of time, you know, a game to a couple games to a few games, whatever the case may be, uh and just kind of hold down the fort while, you know, the starter eventually, you know, returns to that promised land. And look, no one’s accusing Deshawn Wright of being at the level of Jaylen Johnson or Tyreek Stevenson or Kyler Gordon. It’s clearly not the level of player that he is and he has been a journeyman throughout this league, but I think that his play has been fine. Are there moments where again he hasn’t been the greatest? Sure. To me, like is he the weak point of the secondary right now? Yes. But that’s, you know, he was never expected to be a point in the secondary in the first place. Like he’s a rotational guy for a reason. So look, I I mean, could the Bears potentially, you know, given Jaylen Johnson’s injury, look to upgrade there as to, you know, upgrade that position? Sure. But I mean, Reek or not Reek, Nan Wright has the ability talk about Reek. Yes. Uh Nan Wright does have the ability, I think, to kind of just solidly, you know, hold the position down. And look, you know, he’s going to be a guy that you’re going to have to trust, at least for this week and potentially onto the future. So, I think he’s fine for the job. I don’t consider him really a poor player, nor a great player. Kind of is what he is. He’s never going to be a high level starter. I think, like I said, he’s improved enough to where he’s worthy of being on a 53man roster in this league. Uh but you know he’s a backup guy he’s a backup that’s having to be a full-time starter like you said which you know had he played the first three weeks you would have been like well he had made a gamechanging play in week one held his own and week two they they they handled Dat Prescott pretty well okay you know guy like that you week after week after week you can expose an average player and uh that’s I think that’s part of what’s happening shout out to everybody in the chat including my wife Hannah with the bear down we got Daniel Marlin Nick 93 three. Uh Hannah dropping the 67. She uh is a middle school teacher, so she’s more in the loop with the 67. Uh you know, Cullen did a full breakdown for me the other day in the office. I still don’t really get why it’s gone as big as it has, but uh you know, that’s uh that’s what we do here. Sitch lover 67. Uh Chicago media trash humans asking DA uh why fired sad. Oh, I didn’t even see that. So, I saw some of his Did someone ask him why he was fired? Help me out, chat. Did you guys see that? So, you’re Oliver. Stop. It’s a joke, man. Well, to be fair, that’s also kind of a joke. But Oh, I don’t know. See, see, I’m out of the loop. See, I take it back. I don’t know all the lingo. Italian jokes. All jokes. See, I don’t even I don’t even know. I don’t even know what’s going on. I know Oliver. I I don’t know anything. I just know I just black out during game-winning kicks. That’s all. That’s all I’m good at, I guess. So, apologies. All right. Uh I didn’t see that sitch lover. Did you guys see this the Dennis Allen thing? But um yeah. Is there I I’m gonna have to look this up. I didn’t watch the full presser. Oh my god. Hannah just put something in the chat. Her and Smitty would have a field day if Italian brain rot. Oh my god. It’s like it’s So I think it’s a thing on Tik Tok where she’s big in the Tik Tok game. Uh her and Smitty would have a great conversation about that. I’ve heard Sminny talk about that multiple times. Even I’m not in the full loop of the part of our like before going to bed routine is she’ll like catch me up on like Instagram reels, some Tik Toks that she thinks is funny. So I kind of get some of the catchup, you know, like but I don’t I’m not in the I’m not in the weeds, you know? I’m not in the I just catch like the highlights. So, you know. Yeah, it’s a big thing with middle and honestly. Apparently, she’s limited every day. So, yeah. Well, she says it’s a big thing with middle school. It’s a big thing here at chat sports. I’m gonna be honest. It’s it’s a big thing here at chat sports. Um Skippy toilet. That’s funny. Uh yeah, such love. I have to I’ll have to go watch it. Uh not a great day for Chicago media. Uh what one of the ho uh ho radio hosts at the score today said that um Caleb Williams handling of the Aman thing uh was immature and not a franchise QB thing. And look, if you want to say the Instagram thing is a little it I think he’s just having fun, man. Like I don’t think it’s a big deal. And by the way, when you know your team agent, whatever is send you friends are sending you clips of the national commentator uh being unfair when comparing the two quarterbacks. Like, you know, also I think it’s a way of and he kind of explained it this way. I think he’s defending DeAndre Swift, too. He’s like, “Yeah, he called it lucky.” Well, Swift it took it took it 55 yards to the house. So, what the only thing that matters is what the people inside the building think. Doesn’t matter what Troy Aman thinks. Doesn’t matter what I think to be quite frank. I’m just here giving my takes. So yeah. Um yeah, as far as the asking DA why he was fired, that’s an embarrassing question. Yeah, someone actually asked that. Justin G said the first four or five questions, excuse me, were about his Saints tenure and one bad one about him being fired. Okay. I asking about his tenure there. That’s a relevant question because he was the coach there. But I don’t know the wording of the question. If someone has a direct quote of what the question was, great. But if someone went up there and said, “How did you feel about being fired?” or “Did you get fired?” It’s like that those are questions for like nine months ago, if anything. Like it’s just not relevant now. So yeah, that’s that is sad if that’s the case. Um too much sauce uh with the question here. Does Mike McDaniel have uh stature in his locker room? What is stature? What do they mean by stature? Does Mike Daniel have any Do you mean control? Uh, I would say no if that’s what you’re I mean more and more leaks calling Jordan Schultz said today that um there’s no camaraderie in the Dolphins locker room. So if they lose to the Browns this week it is uh over. So yeah. No, I I think uh yeah. Does Mike McDaniel have any I’m trying to I’m honestly trying to decipher this too. Um let us know down in the chat. You don’t have to super chat again. Um cuz stature I don’t think that’s the right word choice but yeah he Mike McDaniel’s a in terms of a head coach is dead man walk the leadership is just not a strength of his I think someone will get a great offensive coordinator this off season but he’s not he doesn’t have the status he doesn’t have the status maybe that’s what you’re going for and the kind of as the kids would say aura to be a head coach I I think and it’s one of those things too once you lose the locker room once gra doubt creeps in. We saw this last year unfold in Chicago it’s hard to get it back and it almost never happens like it just it it just goes away. He to me just is the biggest example of recent memory of listen great as you mentioned play designer offensive mind you know can scheme guys open all that and have you if you don’t have the respect of not just the offensive guys but also of the whole team just as a man as a leader of just like hey listen we had a bad game I need you guys in here at 7 a.m. sharp and you have guys rolling in 720, 730, 745, 8 and we’ve, you know, heard this. I mean, heck, his own quarterback’s even calling people out. It’s just it’s a bad look. And ultimately that in any position, whether you’re an NFL head coach, whether you’re a boss, a manager, whatever the case may be, you have to have people respect you. It’s a it’s a you know, one of the essential things in being able to have a leadership position. And Mike McDaniel just at least to this point, may have the least amount of it of any head coach in the NFL. So, yeah, it’s just, you know, it was kind of obvious they should have fired him last year and they just they didn’t and uh they’re paying the price. Uh, okay. Oi, no name. Caleb has a long way to go. NFL ranked him 23rd this week. I think he’s at least better than 16 other quarterbacks. Not top 10 yet. Your thoughts? He’s definitely not top 10, but he’s also not bottom 10. I mean, come on. Like, I’ll just let’s just Do you want to do the exercise again? Yeah, let’s just go let’s just go through the teams. Patriots right now. Dray May’s playing better. That’s That’s completely true and valid. Josh Allen, you would take I would take him over Tua and Justin Fields. Not even close. So, you’re already at 30. Let’s just count back from 32. You’re already at 30. 30. Uh Aaron Rodgers. You would take Caleb because of age. If you want to say for one game, probably a debate, I guess. I mean, he’s played better than I thought this year. Let’s just say for this weekend. Let’s be conserv. Let’s be conservative. I I won’t even if I’m not 100% sure, I won’t even count that one. So, still at 30. Whoever the Bengals are trottting out there, so you’re at 29. Joe Flacco, uh, we’ll still count Lamar at the Ravens. He’s coming back. So, you’re not better than Lamar. Better than Gabriel. So, you’re at 28. Uh, Daniel Jones. I mean, this year he’s playing better for being for right here, right now. I would still take Caleb. I think even what’s even Let’s even that out then. We didn’t count the Rogers one. I’ll count Daniel Jones. Well, mainly because I think if you were to ask Stike into a lie detector test, like, hey, do you really trust Daniel Jones to execute your offense in terms of like outside of his structure, I don’t know if I would go. We’ll split that with Rogers and Jones. We’ll go one in his So, we’re down to 27. Trevor Lawrence, I would take Caleb. Yeah, I would take Caleb. That one’s closer than some people like him in, but I’d go Caleb, too. Jury’s still on TAW. He’s played better this year, but I would take Caleb 26. Straoud. I played the last two weeks. He’s played better. He’s played better. I would still take Caleb. If you want to split those two as well to be fair, but I would take, again, we’re going conservative. I I would take Caleb over all those guys. Cam Ward, definitely Caleb right now. 25. Herbert, you would take Bon Knicks. I’m taking Caleb over Bon Knicks. 24. Mahomes. You’re not taking Gino. We saw that play out. 23. Jaylen Herz. I’ll still give Jaylen Herz the benefit of the doubt. Um, I will say this though, insert QB into all 32 NFL offenses. That’s a different conversation, but Guy’s a Super Bowl MVP. Like, I’m not going to be for sure. Where are we at? 23. Uh, yes. Well, okay. So, it’s it’s 23. Yeah, 23. Jaden Daniels. He’s had the better career up to this point. If we’re being fair, probably Jaden Daniels, but uh didn’t make the big mistake that Jaden made. Sorry, Washington. Uh, Dak, you would take Dak. Dart, not enough sample size. I’ll take Caleb. So, we’re down to 22. 22. Jordan Love. Uh, I I would slightly lean Love, but it it Caleb’s gaining ground. We’ll be conservative and FGB, but I would slightly take Love right now. I would also take Jared Goff. I I would think about Love, but I’ll I’ll let that one slide. Uh, that’s fine. You can Minnesota 21. Um, yep. Uh, Tampa, you would take Baker. I’m taking Kale over Penn. So, you’re down to 20. I’m taking him over Bryce Young. 19. I’m taking him over Spencer Rattler. 18. Brock Party. Or is it Mac Jones? I Let’s call it Party Jones. Jokes. Um I mean, Party is pretty proven. That one’s a debate is I mean, if I’m starting a franchise, I’m picking Caleb. But if if both are fully healthy this Sunday, I mean, Party’s got more skins on I I’ll give him that one. So, still at 18. Sam Darnold’s playing lights out. I’m not taking him over Darnold right now. Not taking him over Stafford right now. I think I’d take him over Kyler. You’re right there at like 161 17. Yeah, I think that’s fair. Yeah, right. Kyler’s pretty close, but I’ll I’ll let you that that’s fair if you want to have Caleb over. So, you’re basically about He’s about half in. Yeah. And I think through five weeks, that’s a good spot to be. I think he’s somewhere between, if you add it all up, if you really did a deep dive, he’s probably somewhere between 14 and 20, you know, because we were kind of 50/50 on a few of those. 14 and 20, 14 and 21 with the arrow pointing up. And you’re hoping he gets to top 10 by next year, if not by the end of this year. Yeah, he’s definitely improved. He’s moved up the list. His arrow is going up next year. His arrow is going up. Um, and I uh he’s for sure top 20 to me. He’s somewhere between 15 and 15 and 18. 15 18 15 20 somewhere in that range. Yeah. And look, when you take a guy number one, you want him to be higher. But it’s year two, first year with Ben Johnson. Yeah, we’re what, five games. Not on a good trajectory. Yeah. It’s not I mean, listen, we got to be fair. Like Drake May has taken a massive leap. Caleb’s taking a jump. Tre May’s taken a massive jump. But Drake May is the best quarterback from or at least the level of play that he’s playing this year. He’s the best from that class for sure. But I’m saying he’s like his best right now is getting up there with Jaden’s last year in terms of like some ways it might be better. He’s he’s been great, man. Really has. I do think what’s funny in the end, I think the top three will end up being the top three. Yeah, the order the jury is still out on the order. I think who remembers the episode uh that I was involved with that Harry and I did that was like 50 minutes talking about all 32 NFL QBs. That was if you guys want another we had different remember in that one we had different like we factored in age contract. I’m just saying if y’all want to do us to do something like that again like the video. We’ll do it at minimum in the offseason. Yeah, I’d be down to do one of those fun. All right. Uh sidebar there. Pan appreciate the two. Are you happy with the Jake Moody pick pick up? Yes. If he does nothing else, Colin, that’s already been worth it. A practice squad kicker that you picked up won you a game. It’s kind of the old adage of a backup quarterback. If a backup quarterback starts two games and wins one, he’s earned his paycheck. Uh Jake Moody has earned whatever. Now, could he turn around and miss a game winning a kick? Sure. But like he still won you a game. Like you’re not you shouldn’t have major expectations. Now, could he become your long-term answer? Sure, the jury is very much still out on that. Sounds like he’s kicking this week. Uh, little teaser, we’ll get to the injury report in a minute. Kyro Santos did not practice today. I would guess he’s not kicking on Sunday, so probably going to see Jake Moody again. More Moody. More Moody. We’ll see how it goes. Jeremy Harrison, Caleb Williams is our franchise QB. Trending in that direction. I mean, I like where he’s at. Obviously, he’s the quarterback right now. Um, we’re hoping he continues to elevate and earns himself an extension either after next year or after year four. But long way to go, five games into this with Ben Johnson. So, a lot of excitement. Jacob, if you could go to one Bears game in 2025, which I think it would have been the one on Monday, uh, and especially seeing how it played out. But, um, um, moving forward, probably the probably the Packers game at home. I would pick, if I had to pick a road game, maybe Baltimore, go see Lamar live. That’d be fun. See if they could win in Baltimore. Be a fun game. Black Friday against the Eagles. It’s another good one. Uh road game against the Vikings. Try to try to avenge that loss. Josh, does Ruben Hip White get more snaps with Noah out? Maybe. Um the fact that he was a healthy scratch calling. Um I don’t know if he’s actually next man up. Aiman Ogbog Bamiga’s practice window opened this week. He was limited today. If he gets elevated, would he be in that third linebacker role this week? I wouldn’t rule that out. Carl Jones and Demarco Jackson have been active. Now they’re more special teamers, but yeah, it’s it’s not a major storyline for this week, but the third linebacker question cuz Noah concussion protocol. He’s I’d be shocked if he played. Um I don’t know who the third linebacker is this week. I would guess you probably play even more nickel than you normally would. So, uh, Anthony, I honestly hope we go two and one over our next three. That would put us in a good position, and it’s very probable. Yeah, I think two- one over the next three is a realistic goal. 3- 0 is not off the table with how beat up Baltimore is, but listen, back-to-back road games against the Ravens and Bengals, road games are always hard in the NFL. This Saints game is not a layup. So, you know, would I necessarily sign a piece of paper if it was offered in front of me for two and one? No. is I do think there’s a scenario where they could win all three, but uh I wouldn’t be upset at it at all. You’re five and three with the trade deadline looming. I mean, I think that’d be a pretty good position. I think most of us would have signed up for five and three who ate uh when the season started. Yeah, agree. Jay Villa need to beat teams like the Saints tiebreakers. Yeah, I mean look, you’d rather win this game than the Baltimore game for sure. NFC tiebreakers conference record is one that pops up uh a lot. Uh you’re well aware of that from last year. Seattle, I think, was on the wrong end of that. Uh trying to get that seven seed. So um or were they just a game back? Can’t remember now. They were tied. They were tied. So conference records big. So yep, you’d rather beat the Saints than a bad AFC team, for example. Like the Bengals, as weird as that sounds. So yeah, big game. Big game. hand again. Are you honest? It’s uh Michael Darnell Rice was a beast in that game. Easily his best game of the year and one of his better games as a pro, especially when you factor in he’s dealing with an elbow injury. So, he was great. He was great. So, yeah. And look, you know, there was some small talk of like is it, you know, better to have Theo and Aussie Trabillo? It’s Darnell Wright by far. I mean, he’s Brett Coleman put out a stat today, Colin. I don’t know if you saw this if you I don’t know if you guys are familiar with Bret Coleman. He’s kind of like an OG NFL YouTuber. He’s one of the best. He’s grown. I I really like his analysis. Um Darnell Wright is allowing a pressure rate of only 2.1% on true dropbacks. Uh that’s an average of one pressure every 48 uh drop backs. Only two tackles in the league are better. Joe Alt, he’s pretty good. He’s hurt right now. And uh Brian O’Neal who’s been I don’t know 10 year offensive tackle. He’s been really good. Yeah. Like that’s ahead of Andrew Thomas. That’s ahead of um Trent Williams, Pane Su. Darn. All right. I’ve said it. If he can just eliminate the mental errors that we that pop up every once in a while, he’s got everything you want in a franchise long-term potential allp pro offensive tackle. He’s big, he’s physical, he’s technically sound when he stays locked in. Uh he’s athletic for his size, right? Uh we saw that several times on Monday. Uh I’m a big fan of his game. Um it’s just, you know, six penalties through three weeks. That was frustrating, but uh he’s also tough. He’s played through stuff throughout his career. I’ve been told he has torn ligaments in his elbow and he’s playing. So, I mean, he’s he’s a tough sob. So, get those score predictions in. We’ll answer a couple more super chats uh that have come in and then uh we’ll get this thing rolling. We got a lot of content to dive into here on a Thursday. Uh what what’s up? Just look at chit chat. I’m sorry. Um that’s our war grade stuff here. Your score predictions down below. I want to give some uh shout outs. Z Ganji is going with Harrison’s prediction of 1927. Uh Devin says 2717 Bears. Uh, Savage says 3414 bear down. Uh, Ron says 38-10 Bears. Chris says 30-7. Um, Jeffrey says 27 to4. Some good score predictions there. I will save mine for Sunday. Make sure you join us for our watch party this Sunday when we go live uh to cover the Bears week seven match up against the New Orleans Saints. Uh, who’s all going to be there? Type me in the chat if you’re going to be there. Yeah, if you’re going to be at the game, type me. Let’s go. Shout out everybody in the chat. All right, I think this we have one more super. We got old Jeffrey. Jeffrey popping in. He said percent chance we continue the streak to the Eagles. Let’s see. Let me pull up the schedule. Um, so you got the Saints at home at Ravens at Bengals, Giants at home at Vikings, Steelers at home at Eagles. I don’t know, 2%. I mean, you’re you’re gonna lose to somebody in there. They’re all winnable games, but I mean, are you gonna I mean, this game this week’s lossable. It’s the NFL, so yeah, it’s not high. Now, if you told me one, two, three, four, five, six that they go four- two or five- one in the stretch, that’s certainly doable. like four and two over the next six colon. If you do that and get to seven and four, then you have the final stretch of at Philly, at Green Bay, Browns at home, Packers at home, at 49ers, Lions at home, get to seven and four for that final six, go three and three, get to 10 and seven, probably right on the fringe of making the playoffs in a crowded NFC. So Ike, you look at this next six, you got to win at least four probably based on the opponents. I mean, Saints at home, it’s a game you need to win. Uh, at Ravens, at Bengals, got to win at least one of those. Both are winnable. Giants at home, probably a game you need to get. At Minnesota, I mean, you’d like to salvage that split. Pittsburgh at home, final time you’re playing Aaron Rogers and Soldier Field, most likely. Yeah. Let me just for the NFC games, just for the remainder of the schedule, Saints, you should be favored in this one. you are favored. You should stay favored. Giants at home, they’ll be favored on that one. Something unforeseen. Vikings on the road. They probably won’t be favored, but that’s one you got to but you got to win that one. You got to split with the Vikings if you’re hoping to make the playoffs. Uh NFC, you go at the Eagles there. That’s going to be a tough one Friday night. Chances are, you know, all things equal, you probably lose that game. Yeah. Uh two divisional games against the Packers. FGB, they’re sweeping them, but you would hope that would obviously, but at least get a split. Yeah, at least get that at the 49ers. Again, they’re beat up to hell, but they’re potentially looking at adding somebody in the trade deadline from what I’m hearing. That feels like a coin flip game. I mean, they’re they’re probably they’ll be favored probably, but who knows what the injury situation is. Yeah. And they played them again last year, so you know, hopefully a little another reason you also need to and then Detroit didn’t split like ideally win two out of three against Green Bay in the one Minnesota game is I don’t think this team matches up well with Detroit. So you might just get swept by them. So if you can at least get two out of three against the two Green Bay games in the Minnesota game to go two if you can at least go two and four in the division. I mean that’s not a total loss. I mean the Packers went one and five last year and won 11 games made the playoffs. So if you can go two and four but one week at a time, one day at a time that’s the approach. Wasim was [Music] he says bear down FGB. Someone says, “When is Joe coming back?” Who’s Joe? Lovi is that Oh god. I might have to sign off. Someone is going to clip this. Bro. Oh, man. It’s been a tough day for me in the uh in the Gen Z streets. I’m waiting for the followup from Lvanni. Ryan did it for him. There it is. Augustine goes Joe as in Joe Buck. Oh, you got me, Lonnie. That’s good stuff. That’s good stuff. Oh, man. Oh, by the way, quick shout out. So, I don’t know if they’re all watching. We’ll do it again on Sunday, but we caught up. We got everybody’s um raffle tickets for the monthlong Caleb Williams signed football. $50. If you want to enter, we’ll count ones on our normal live shows, not just game day. Uh it’ll go through the end of the month. But uh wanted to shout out Andres, Glenn Miller, Vinnie D. [Music] I’m Harrison Graham on today’s show and we’re going to have to fix this because that is the Raiders. Uh we got some key All right, we’re going to pause and reset here, folks. Hey, when we’re not live, this happens sometimes, guys. We start a show and we’re like, that’s the wrong graphic. So, there’s an example, a little behind the scenes look for you guys here on Chicago Bears now. I think it was the right one in that list of cool. So, okay. Is it is the right one in there now? All right. Well, we’re going to reset Raiders again. Uh, yeah, another Joe joke. All right. Let’s uh let’s start over. [Music] Welcome into Chicago Bears Now. My name is Harrison Graham. On today’s show, we discuss the latest Bears and Saints injury reports. Couple of uh interesting uh tidbits here that I want to get into in that regard as well. Plus, some potential roster news uh when it comes to 53man roster shuffling that could take place over the next couple of days before kickoff on Sunday. Want to talk about Grady Jarrett first though because remember after the season opener, he wasn’t practicing much with the knee issue, but he was playing on Sundays. He played week two against the Lions, week three against the Cowboys, and then since that game, he has not played or practiced. And it’s like, oh, what’s going on? Did he injure that knee worse? Why, if so, why hasn’t he gone on to short-term IR? Well, Brad Bigs alluded in an article today that he had a procedure. He said Jarrett has been sidelined since the week three win over the Cowboys. It’s my belief he likely had a procedure on his right knee. Had the Bears placed Jarrett on IR, the earliest he could have returned would have been the November 2nd game in Cincinnati. So, it’s fair to think the Bears will get him back sooner rather than later. Now, if that’s true, cuz he did not practice today. We’ll have the full injury report. Doesn’t sound like he’s playing Sunday. Probably should have put him on IR. even if he returns that ne next week, it’s like, okay, he only missed three games instead of four. But my typical rule of thumb, unless it’s a superstar player, if your projections of an injury timetable are you’re going to miss at least three games, if not four or more, just go ahead and put him on IR and settle for the four game minimum because he just that roster spot is valuable and he hasn’t been able to practice. He hasn’t been able to play. Now, if he plays this week, okay, made the right call. He only missed two games and who knows maybe the timet changed so sometimes that happens but uh feels like they probably should have just put him on injured reserve. Hopefully he can return next week. Hopefully he can play this Sunday but he was not out there today. So I think that would be a pretty big surprise if he returned especially if he had surgery. That would be quite the turnaround. So we’ll see when he does return to the field. Okay, speaking of a guy in the opposite direction, is DJ Moore trending up? Trending in the right direction toward playing? certainly seems so on yesterday’s injury report which was an estimation. Uh they did not practice yesterday. Uh he did not practice but today he was limited. Uh and this of course all become comes after uh staying overnight in the DC area in a hospital. A lot of rumors of what’s going on there. Uh the Bears called the Deoid injury. He’s also being labeled with a hip injury. He stayed overnight in a hospital. You know, I don’t know exactly what happened, but uh you guys can probably figure it out. They probably had to do some kind of testing with something uh in addition to those injuries. Uh I’m guessing he plays on Sunday. Slow return to practice this week. Didn’t do anything yesterday, limited today. Guessing he does more tomorrow and we’ll be good to go for Sunday. Uh one thing you can’t question with DJ is his toughness. He’s taken a lot of big hits uh in his career playing for the Chicago Bears. So my gut tells me he’ll play. tomorrow will be a little bit more telling in terms of what his status is on the injury report, but if he’s already back and limited here, uh I think he’s uh going to be in a good spot to play on Sunday. This is why you subscribe to the channel when news drops, when injury updates are revealed, we react and give our take here on Chicago Bears. You and I make decisions every day, but on Prize Picks, being right can get you paid. Don’t miss any of the excitement this season on Prize Picks where it’s good to be right. Want to pick more on Caleb Williams pass yards, rush yards, and touchdowns? Now you can. Allin-one lineup only on Price Picks. The way Price Picks works is simple. What qualifies you for a lineup is picking two or more players at least for two or more different teams, regardless of sport, and picking more or less on the available stat projections. You want to take more than Caleb Williams passing yards like I did this week. I also took more on Trevor Lawrence’s uh half a touchdown pass. It’s a goblin play. Easier to hit. Also took a demon pick. This way you guys kind of get a full picture of what’s available. Cam Scataboo to find the end zone. $20 lineup to win 80 bucks. You want to chase me, you can. All right, Bears injury report did not practice today. Grady Jarrett with that knee, which we discussed in full. I don’t expect him to play Sunday. I also don’t expect Noah Su uh to play this week. Nasty looking concussion on that friendly fire from Jonathan Ford. That was kind of tough to watch to be honest. I was happy to see him walk off the field under his own power, but uh I think short week concussion, I don’t expect him out there. And then Kairo Santos with a thigh injury, his right thigh, which of course is his kicking leg, uh I think with him being a weak-legged kicker, and I’ve referenced this a couple times, you got to be 100%. You know, if you’re Brandon Aubrey and you’re 90%, I’m putting you out there. Kyro Santos, I need you 100% uh to put you out there uh especially in a game in October. So, I would expect Jake Moody again. We’ll see if he does anything tomorrow. Uh, limited today. DJ Moira, which we broke down, dealing with that hip groin issue, uh, plus potentially something else. Uh, I think he’s trending up. Aean Agbog Bamiga, more on him in a second. His practice window opened, uh, today, one of your key special teamers. And with Noah Su likely out this week, maybe they try to activate him and he could be your third linebacker this week if they don’t think Ruben Hiplight’s ready for that role. So, keep an eye on him. He was limited. And then uh DeAndre Swift uh popped up uh with a groin. And I think this is notable because he was a full participant yesterday. And typically when someone’s full and then the next day pops up as limited, that usually, not always, usually means that the player on the day they pop up limited started the day full go and tweet something in practice, which is why it became limited because he probably didn’t finish practice. Here was what Ian Rapaort tweeted. I think it’s notable that Rap Sheet sent something out. He was probably sent something from the Bears. He said DeAndre Swift was limited in today’s practice with a groin injury after being a full participant yesterday in what was actually a walkthrough and an estimated participation. More info tomorrow on how he responds. Definitely something to monitor because a coming off a great game, easily his best game of the year, maybe his best game as a Chicago Bear. And B, again, yesterday wasn’t a true physical practice, but to go from full to limited, did something pop up today? Did they do a medical check this morning? and uh didn’t like what they saw. So, uh it’s not like he was a DNP, but uh definitely something to monitor tomorrow because if he can’t go for whatever reason this weekend, then you know, you got Kyle Manungi, Roshan Johnson, would you maybe activate Travis Homer? You could also elevate Britain Brown for a game day elevation off the practice squad. He had a good preseason, but uh Swift uh looked really good this past week, so you hope he’s able to play and build off of that. Uh, as far as Agbog Bamiga goes, uh, the Bears PR tweeted out that his practice window uh, was open. So, again, uh, do you, um, is he, you know, on three practices or really just two today and tomorrow, uh, going to be ready enough, uh, to be elevated because remember Travis Homer and Austin Booker, who we’ll talk about in a sec, they practiced all week last week in full and were not activated. So, for A and O to practice twice and be ready for a game on Sunday might be a stretch, but we’ll have to wait and see. Speaking of Austin Booker, Travis Homer, and also Jonah Jackson, who was a DNP estimate yesterday, he was full today, so he’s fine to go with that ankle. Uh Homer dealing with that calf dating back to the preseason and Booker dating back to the preseason with that knee. They’ve been full participants dating back to last week. I was shocked that Booker didn’t play in that Monday game. I hope he plays this week. I mean, I said last week, I expect him to. I don’t know if I can use the word expected considering he didn’t get activated last week, but I am hopeful uh that he can. Now, the Bears defensive line did show a little more juice. So, you know, if he’s not full throttle and if they want to hold him out next week, they can, but they got to make a decision by next week because when you start the 21-day window, uh if that 21 days comes and goes and you don’t activate them, they’re out for the year. They stay on IR. So, um I can’t imagine that would be the case, especially with Austin Booker. Now again, if they activate him, Homer, Agbog, Vamiga, uh anywhere from one to three players, well, you’re going to have to cut somebody or play someone on IR to match those movements. So, if they uh let’s just say they add only Austin Booker and and they keep the other two guys on short-term IR to no passing, he was a healthy scratch Sunday or Monday. I’m guessing he could be on the way uh off to 53. Carl Jones, DeMarco Jackson. Now, without Noah Sul this week, you wouldn’t want to cut more than one of those guys. So, maybe you wouldn’t go that route this week. Uh Jay Walker was a healthy scratch uh on Monday. I really like him, but you know, if it comes a numbers game, do do you cut him loose? I personally would add Deon Duet to this list, but they don’t seem to trust someone else to handle kick or punt return and kickoff return duties next to Luther Burton, but he hasn’t really shown me much if I’m being honest. Chris Williams. They’ve elevated Jonathan Ford who’s seemingly played more than Chris Williams as a practice squad player the last couple weeks. But again, with J Grady Jarrett out, do you want to cut a defensive tackle? So, few names to consider there. I think if it’s for Booker specifically, Passeno is probably the player to watch uh in terms of a player that could get cut. Okay. Who should the Bears cut for Austin Booker? If you’re picking somebody, who would it be? uh because uh at some point they’re going to make a roster move, if not multiple roster moves. So uh you let me know who that player is. Okay, real quick. The Saints uh injury report uh has also dropped as uh Alvin Chimera, who was a DNP yesterday, he was limited today. So you would think he’s trending up toward playing uh plus a vet. Sometimes they just ease those guys through the week. Isaac Yaidum, he was limited with the hamstring after being a DMP yesterday. Chris Ave limited yesterday, full today. Same with Alante Taylor. So, uh, they’re in good position to play on Sunday. John Rididgeway full for a second straight day. Uh, Devon God show uh, did not practice, but kind of like Mercedes Lewis last year. Just a veteran rest day. Uh, he should be fine. All right, there you go. the latest injury news for both the Bears and the Saints and some potential roster maneuvers that could take place if they choose to activate one of if not all three of Austin Booker, Travis Homer, and Abean Agboga. If anything happens on that front, we’ll have you covered with a video or at least a YouTube short. So, be on the lookout for that. My name is Harrison Graham. Hit that subscribe button and bear down. Kyle, love the collab with Pat. Do you think Dennis Allen even answers his wife with? Well, look, that’s funny. Uh, appreciate the uh uh Pat deal. Yeah, I uh for those who don’t know, I hopped on Pat the Designer show. Uh the breeze uh it was it was a good time. Talked for about 20 25 minutes. So, uh some more Bears content for you guys. If you’re looking for, you know, something for your commute home and uh you’ve watched all of our videos hopefully, of course, uh feel free to go check that out. Uh he does good work. So, uh enjoyed it. Enjoyed that. And then um who knows? Uh that’s how Dennis Allen answers a lot of questions. That’s uh that’s funny. I’m pretty happy with Dennis Allen, man. The only I I thought Colin, let me know if you agree. I thought Ben Johnson and Dennis Allen each had one notable bad call the other night. I didn’t like the fourth and one from Ben Johnson. Not because there wasn’t a potential to convert on that play. I just think when you need a guard a yard, if you’re going to throw the ball, get your mobile quarterback on the move. That That’s my thought. I don’t mind throwing there. I just don’t like a straight playaction drop back. Play action boot. Cool. If you want to run it, cool. Didn’t like that. Uh Dennis Sound the third and 13. I thought it was too soft of a coverage play and there was too much room for the running back to basically just make one man miss and get to the sticks. Uh other than that, I mean, Dennis hasn’t had Jaylen Johnson all year basically. The Yeah, he played what, 20 snaps against Detroit, whatever. uh he missed TJ Edwards basically the first month. Kyler Gordon didn’t play the first month and they’ve created 11 turnovers the last three weeks. So, uh I think all in all, outside of that Detroit game in the fourth quarter against Minnesota, I think this defense has been pretty good considering um the injuries they’ve had. You can make the argument that Dennis Allen at least Monday night, not maybe for the whole season. Dennis Allen’s groups was the better group on on Monday night because yeah, again, they found some things in the running game with DeAndre Swift, more wide zone stuff, but I felt a that fourth down call that you mentioned was kind of a curious call. I just I’m also still kind of like racking my brain around personnel usage for Ben Johnson. Like I still want to see these younger guys get involved. And again, I’m not just saying that because again, Zakius didn’t have the greatest game, but it felt like their kind of persistence to kind of keep going to him felt like they really wanted him to kind of have his moment against his former team where I think it’s a trust thing. Yeah, maybe. I think it’s a this guy’s been in this league. He and I don’t have the full I I don’t know everything. These are questions we don’t always have the answers to, so we always have to add that context. Mhm. I think everyone knows that Luther Burton’s a more dynamic player than Zakius, but five games into his career and, you know, a couple of months of real practices into his career, does he understand the full details of the offense the way Zakius does? Probably not. Um, so that’s I think that’s where that comes in. I’m with you. I want to see Luther more. Uh, I want to see Coloulson Lovelin more. Um, so yeah, I think both I I’m pretty pleased with this head coach DC combination. I mean, yeah, you’re you’re kind of starting to see the fruits of the labor of like what the what it’s already been and what it could be long term. I said this when they hired Dennis Allen if Ben Johnson’s the real deal. You could have this combination for 10 plus years, assuming Dennis Allen wants to coach for a long time because Dennis Allen is not going to be a head coach again. Like he’s not getting a third Defensive guys don’t get a third chance. Yeah, he’s not getting a third chance. I mean, never say never, but it’d be one thing if one of his tenures went at least reasonably well. It neither really went that well. He had a couple okay seasons with the Saints, but um he’s not getting a third crack. I don’t know if he wants a third crack. Like, he might just look at this and say, “Hey, I’m with a young offensive head coach. This defense is mine. He’s letting me do it how I want to do it. Like, Bears are paying me well. Like, this is a pretty sweet gig.” like you know. So, um yeah, I mean it’s five games in. There’s a long way to go, but uh I’m pretty pleased with really the whole coaching staff. I mean, I I have no glaring complaints of anything I’ve seen so far. Uh all right, hashtagbears or super chat to get those questions answered and we will u get them on the show. Um what was it? Justin Collins. Uh your super chat we’re gonna include in the mailbag. So, if you’re in the chat wondering why we haven’t flashed it yet, just got you, Justin. We’ll get you in there. We know not everybody can or or needs to feel like they have to donate. So, hashtagbears questions. Uh, we’ll get them in there. And yeah, Giovani, I was getting fooled a lot in uh the first part of the show. Not my best showing here. We’re Well, hey, listen. I first first show first graphic. I Your boy got wrong. So, get the F color. You’re firing on all cylinders. I I I was telling uh our Vikings host who I sit next to in the office. Uh you guys might Patrick Seman, y’all have seen him before. He does our Bulls channel, too. I was like, I gotta be honest, doing that Monday game, full day Sunday of work, Monday night after a game like that, I don’t fall asleep till like after 2 a.m. Yeah. Like I It’s the end of the week. It’s uh we’re we’re on fumes heading to the finish line here before we got a little bit of off time before Sunday. But uh John Cannon uh we don’t need to put that in the mailbag that any update on DJ. He was limited today trending up. Keep an eye on Friday’s injury report. Yeah, but get those uh hashtag bears questions in. I Walter, I appreciate that. I appreciate that. But hey, we don’t tolerate F Collins in the chat. No, listen. Hey, I got to own up to my mistake. So that’s on me. Hand up accountability. Exactly. So, but make sure you get those hashtag uh bears questions. I’m not seeing a lot of them in here. So, good chance if you want to get your question on today, use hashtagbears like you see on screen or super chat to guarantee like Justin Collins um to get in the mailbag. So, pretty sweet deal no matter what. But um Jack, that’s funny. Uh Claypool is not even on a team, but uh I appreciate the humor there. Hashtag bears super chat. If you got trade ideas, questions about this game, anything else, fire them in there. There are some good ones in the chat. All right, I’m liking this. All right. Well, fire away. We’ll get to as many of them as we can. Yep. I think we’re I think we’re better. We got enough. And we’re going to hit We’re going to start with a ESPN trade idea off the top here, then we’ll hop into your questions. So, let’s go ahead and do that. Uh we’ll get to as many of your questions as we possibly can here on Chicago Bears now. [Music] I’m Harrison Graham. Coming up, we’re going to take your mailbag questions. So, use hashtagbears or the super chat function and we will uh answer as many of your questions as we possibly can. Do want to start with this. There’s a uh Bears Raiders trade idea out there from Bill Barnwwell, ESPN.com. He cooked up about a dozen uh trade ideas and he proposed a player for player swap between the Bears and the Raiders. And it’s Tyrie Wilson who you guys may remember that year when he was coming out. Uh I was a big fan of his coming out of Texas Tech. He was a player I would not have mind uh the Bears uh drafting. That was the year they ended up with Darnell Wright. I think he actually went the pick before uh Jaylen Carter and Darnell Wright if I remember correctly. And then uh Braxton Jones would go back to the Raiders uh in this uh trade. The idea is you know Colton Miller’s hurt. The Raiders offensive line struggling. So you can get an experienced left tackle and then uh the Raider or the Bears pass rush has obviously not been great this year. Tyreek Wilson kind of a tweener can play some edge, can play some defensive tackle. He could come over to the Bears. And you look at Tyreek Wilson’s career, I was actually pleasantly surprised. He’s actually been a little more productive than I thought. Uh he’s got uh 10 sacks in two year two less than two and a half seasons. So not great. Not top 10 pickw worthy or even close, but 37 pressures last year I thought was pretty decent. This year is pressure rate uh is okay. I think it’s a little better than 10% which is kind of average. Uh I think I would do this trade in heartbeat. The only drawback I would have is do you trust Azie Trapillo to play left tackle in a pinch? And if the answer is no, do you have a plan B if Theo Benedict gets hurt? Because that’s the only drawback, right? Because the main priority this year is still having the best offensive line in front of Caleb possible and making sure his development’s good and all that stuff. But if you’re telling me Braxton Jones, who’s already been benched, you’re clearly not resigning him. For Tyrie Wilson, a former top 10 pick who has not lived up to that, but you still have him under contract through next season and is a versatile defensive lineman who’s at least shown some production. That’s kind of like a no-brainer to me. I I think I would do that trade in a heartbeat. And if you’re the Raiders, Braxton Jones can help you. He could play, and if he plays well, maybe they keep him long term. Who knows? So, uh, I think I would do this swap. What say you? Would you do Tyrie Wilson to the Bears for Braxton Jones to the Raiders? Type Y for yes. Type in for no. I’m doing this move if it’s actually available. I’m not sure it is, but if it is, I’d pull the trigger. All right. Super chat from Justin Collins as we shift into mailbag mode. He says FGB get the FGBs in the chat. Do you think Poles is going to make a splash trade? Well, that last one wouldn’t be a splash, but it would be one that’s kind of a lowrisk move. Uh, I’d be open to that. I don’t know. I I don’t get the sense that a major move is coming. Brad Biggs, who’s kind of been peppered with the these questions, he does not sense that right now, and he typically has a pretty good kind of feel with his sources on this type of stuff. Now, that could change if what if you rip three in a row, three more in a row, and you’ve won six in a row before the trade deadline, like would you take a swing? Even if you win two out of three, get to five and three, would you make a move? If a injury pops up and you need a big replacement, could that happen? So, there’s a long way to go here. We still have over two weeks until the trade deadline, but right now, my gut tells me splash trade, no. Small move feels more likely. Okay, Jeremy Keller, hashtagbears. Do you think KT will be back next year? If you’re asking me today, I will say yes. I think that could change, but I just don’t we haven’t seen Loveland just, you know, have those popoff games yet. And I that’s not necessarily his fault. Uh and it’s not like KT’s having huge production either, but my gut right now would tell me that he uh would be back as of right now. And even if Gololin does take off, I’d still be fine with KT being back. He makes 11 million bucks. It’s not like he makes 20 million and is a crush against your salary cap. So, I’ll lean yes for now, but uh that could certainly change this off season. All right, folks. Get going with Mando Higherformance whole body deodorant at shopmando.com. I think Grady Jarrett signing is a bust. Let’s see. I mean, it’s probably an overpay regardless of how this plays out. I don’t think Grady is going to get back to his elite Atlanta days, but I still think there’s value in the veteran leadership. Um, Ben has spoken on that. Dennis has spoken on that. Even if he doesn’t play up to his contract, I think there’s things that you can’t measure that he brings to the table. Uh, it’s not a killer of a contract. Um, you can get out of it after next year. Is it the most ideal if he ends up just being kind of in and out of the lineup and an average player when he plays? No. It’s an overpay for that. But I I’ll tell you this. If you ask me today, would I rather have Grady Jarrett on his contract or Dioingo on his contract? I still think I’d take Grady Jarrett. Now Dio I thought played a lot better against Washington, but um let’s give this more time, Chris. Let’s give it more time. Jose Gonzalez, more snaps for Luther Burden or keep trusting Oz? I think both. I I don’t think the trust in Omaha Zakius is just going to be gone now because he dropped a critical ball. Um but I still think you need to ramp up uh Burton’s workload. And honestly, that dropped play is a big reason why. Not cuz he dropped the ball. I want to make that clear. Zakius by all accounts has good hands. Just had a bad rep there. Dropped the football. It happens. But Luther Burton, if he catches that ball and turns the corner, I think he scores. Zakius might too. He’s good in space. good after the catch, but Burton is electric. I mean, his ability to accelerate, decelerate, put the brakes on, change direction. Zakias can do some of those things, but it is night and day. I mean, Luther Burton is a special player with the ball in his hands. That ball he caught on Caleb downfield on the deep over route. I mean, there’s two defenders like within a couple yards of him when he catches it. He catches it, turns the corner, stops, juke left, back right, gets like 14 yards after the catch. An average player gets like three yards after the catch on that play. I mean, it was pretty awesome. Uh, that gets me excited. I I want to get that guy the ball in space and let him go to work. And 99 times out of 100, we’re going to have at least two videos on the channel. So, subscribe today. We got you covered. Christian, thoughts on a potential Chase Brown trade. Um, well, if you joined us for our Packers Bengals hate watch party, uh, Chase Brown did show some life in that game after he had been uh, yeah, he had his longest run of the year of 13 yards. Uh, now the Bengals O line is terrible. I get all that, but he’s clearly having a down year, but he played a little better in that game. We’ll see how he plays the rest of the season. Um, I mean, if you want to buy low, like, could you get him for a pick swap or a sixth round pick? Okay, we can have a conversation. But, um, if you ask me right now, do I think he’s better than DeAndre Swift this second? Probably not. So, um, I wouldn’t close the door on that. But, are the Bengals going to trade him when his value is the lowest? Probably not either. All right, Dylan. The way Tummaine is playing, I don’t think we let him walk this off seasonason unless he’s asking for a crazy offer. Middle linebacker looks good for him. I think you mean will linebacker. That’s been the change. When Noah Su stepped in, he’s more comfortable at middle. So, they moved Tummaine to Will because during training camp, Dennis Allen did something smart. He had all the linebackers work at the different positions. And Tummaine and TJ were pretty interchangeable at middle at Mike and Will. In the last scheme, Tummaine played middle and it was with very mixed results. You know, based on the contract, he was not living up to it. He played Will with Noah Sul was playing well. TJ comes back instead of moving Ma Tmaine back to middle and TJ back to Will. They put TJ at Mike and not only did he play great there. Tmaine continue to play really good on the weak side. So I think you keep that going forward. If he keeps playing like this, you probably keep him on the team next year. Uh despite his contract, uh would I extend him? I’d probably let next year play out. But um yeah, I uh I like how he’s playing. I like how TJ looked. That hamstring held up. So hopefully that continues. Predict the score. Bears Saints who wins and what is the final score going to be on Sunday? Uh important game. Got to keep the the foot on the gas here. Don’t want to overlook the Saints because if you do, they’re scrappy enough where they could beat you. Where’s Nestle? Is there any chance we trade away someone? If we do, who’s getting traded? Feels like Braxton Jones is the most likely guy the Bears would trade away uh at this point in time. Um, again, they would only do that if they felt comfortable with the return and about a contingency play for Theo Benedict because Braxton still has value. If Theo Benedict were to go down, that’s a guy who started over 40 games in this league at left tackle. He’s not playing like he was before, but in a pinch, Braxton Jones is your backup left tackle, you can do a lot worse. So, um, you know, I I think there’s a world where they trade him, but I also don’t think that’s a guarantee. Sean the Savage, do you think Dennis might want a reunion with either Chase Young or Carl Granderson for Edge? It’s a good point. Bear Saints this weekend. Um, Chase Young just got back playing pretty well. Played well last year. I’m not sure the Saints would look to move him. I don’t even know what he would cost. I think he signed a two-year deal. I’d have to double check. Could you get him for like a fourth? I don’t think I’m trading a day two pick for Chase Young given his injury history. Uh, Carl Granderson. Third, fourth. I I’m not doing a two. He’s a 28 29. I I’ I’d do a day three pick for for either of those guys. I’m not going day two, I don’t think. But uh certainly the Saints have some veteran defensive players that they could be willing to trade and maybe the Bears would pounce given the opportunity. All right, if you have more questions, you know where to find me. HFL, Twitter, and Instagram. I still have a lot of DMs to answer after Monday Night Football. So, if you’ve reached out, uh, I will catch up on those this weekend. Uh, do my best there. But, uh, they’re always open. We always down to chop it up. Hgram NFL. All right. Uh, Carson, before the Bears, who is your team, Cullen and Harry? Well, Cullen has a team. I am a Seahawks fan for those of you who don’t know. Um, got a love for the Bears. FGB forever, but yeah, that is my team. So, uh, I’ve said this before, I’ll say it again. I did not grow up a Bears fan. I’ve never claimed that. Uh I did always like them from afar. They were a team I used a lot in Madden. I love Devin Hester. I was rooting for them against the Colts in the Super Bowl. Uh but growing up in Texas, uh I was a Cowboys fan when I was really young. Uh that fandom went away though before I did this channel. I’ve always made that clear, too. So, uh and if people say I’m on the bandwagon, well, what a team to choose because this team has gone like 30 and 60 since I’ve taken over. And I’m a diehard. Ask anybody in my life. Ask Colen. Ask my wife. Ask my family. Um so, but I’ve never claimed to be a lifelong fan. That would be that would be false. Like that that’d be lying. So, I wouldn’t wouldn’t do that. Exactly. Christian, what a choice. Yeah. Uh, which by the way, when you have those people that do call you a bandwagon for your team, that’s when you know your team’s uh I didn’t I’m not I didn’t go Yankees, Warriors, uh, Chiefs, by the way, which I hosted that channel. I could have gone that way. Uh, no, this is the team that I’ I’ve gotten drawn to, and I’m all in. And I don’t think you can fake the the the responses I’ve had during these games. Um, if I could, I I should go to LA and be an actor, but uh, no, it’s I’ve grown into it pretty quickly since taking over this channel. It’s been awesome. Yeah. It’s also one of those things that I I know I think me and you are both in the minority in this is that you don’t have to root for your hometown team. Like, to me, as long as like, you know, you pick a team and you’re loyal through thick and thin, like you’re and everyone has their own story of like how they became fans of their team. some people, hey, listen, they were born in the city. They, you know, root for that team. More power to you. But if that’s not the route you went for, that’s cool, too. I mean, there’s plenty of Bears fans that I bet have never stepped foot in the state of Illinois. So, like, we’re global, baby. Yeah. I mean, I can’t wait to get back to Shy Town and chop it up with you guys. I’ll try to bring my guy Colin with me next time. Dude, I I got to get up to Chicago. Got to get a Mealort shot. I haven’t We took Malort shots last time. Electric. Uh, can’t remember who bought those. If you’re in the chat, say what’s up. I about to say that might put some extra hair on my chest. Um I when we were out this past week and speaking of Vikings host practicing, he was asking for those at the bar and we were like, “What are you doing?” Who was sees? Oh, really? That’s a joke. That’s electric. Um cool. Thank you for the super chat. Uh yeah, Chris, bear down. Um let’s have him. Xavier says, “I like the the idea of trading for Tyreek Wolves.” I to be fair, if I can get him without giving up a pick, I’m in. I mean, I loved him coming out. Um, yeah, I don’t think he’s ever gonna live up. He had that nasty foot injury in the pre-draft which ended up lingering longer than expected, but um yeah, I think uh if that trade’s actually on the table, not convinced it is, but if it is, I would uh I would absolutely do that. I’m uh I’m changing the What’s good, Omar? appreciate you tuning in cuz I I at least from what I saw now again the chat and sometimes uh what’s actually you know everybody’s opinion may be different I saw it was kind of split so I changed the poll in the chat let us know if you would do this trade Ty Wilson for Braxton Jones I’d do it I mean let us know I saw a split like when we were originally like in the uh in the cut we uh I saw some split right now it’s only 56% say yes. Yeah, I’m surprised by that. And look, let’s be real again. I think Braxton Jones still has value on this team this year because if Theo were to get hurt, that’s an experienced player that uh you know won’t be a total disaster. Um but I think it’s also clear, Colin, he’s not in their future plans. You don’t make that move for an undrafted secondyear player if you if you plan on resigning him. Now, I guess there’s a world where if he just gets no nibbles in free agency and you sign him for the vet minimum to be a backup, then sure. Um, but he’s not in their plans as a starter. And chances are Braxton Jones can at least find a job in free agency to compete for a starting job at minimum. I mean, not many guys hit the open market that have start over started over 40 games at left tackle. So, uh, chances are there’s a job out there in a league that is not rich with good tackles. So, yeah. No, I I think at bare minimum he goes into a training camp um, competing for a starting job 100%. So, you know, if you want to take the minor risk of him potentially helping you later this season to get Tyreek Wilson, I mean, I I would take that chance. I mean, I I just, you know, because you have other options, right? You could you could try Azie there. You the nuclear option of Joe Tuni could play there if if Kronagi gets healthy. Like he like you you could you could get by the rest of the season if something happened to Theo Benedict. Um it’s a little bit of a risk but it’s not like some long-term risk. Like you you’re I don’t think What are the odds you’re resigning Braxton Jones? 3%. Like it’s it’s pretty low at this point. Not a lot. Uh all right. We got Tanner super chat Bears for Seahawks championship game. We did Bears Seahawks Thursday night last year and we were both stressed out for very different reasons. Me because it was the worst game ever. Colin because it was win or the season’s over. So um yeah, that was I will say that’s one of the worst games I’ve ever watched. It was um not to be outdone by the epic Seahawks six to6 tie in overtime against the Cardinals football 10 years ago. Um, listen. So, like the Bears games, like I know, uh, you know, what’s the theme with Bears games that you always say? Like what’s your kind of like tagline or what it’s been in recent years? Like when you talk about Bears games, like what’s the I I forget the tagline you use. Seahawks games is like or like what the tagline is for Seahawks games is like the Seahawks can never play a normal game. Like nothing’s ever a normal game. That’s kind of like that’s true with the Bears, I would say. I don’t know if I’ve used a tagline, but no, you I feel like you’ve said something in the past where it’s like what can go wrong will go wrong with the bear or something. I’ve said that it’s never easy is one I’ve definitely said. Um could always be worse you said, but like I don’t know. I feel like there was something. It doesn’t matter. But yeah, like that those two teams if they met in the NFC Championship game, I promise you this much would be mustsee TV just because of the history of their franchises. So yeah, Daryl says no, let him walk and get a comp pick. Well, there’s no guarantee. I mean, if he does hit free agency, that’s probably what they’ll hope for, but I mean, you don’t you don’t know. It depends how much he gets signed for. It depends how much the Bears spend in free agency. Like, there’s a lot of factors there that are are not guaranteed to play out in your favor. So, um certainly an option, but uh if you told me today I can get Tyreek Wilson for Braxton Jones, I would take that opportunity. Uh, okay. And Andres, I feel like if Dan Moore can get 20 million, then Braxton surely can. It’s a fair point. Yeah, but like I think people would look at that and be like, wait, he was benched for an undrafted player out of Canada. Who was uh I don’t think could he get 10? Yes. Average to below average offensive tackles sometimes get over 10 million in free agency. That Dan Moore contract was egregious. Dan Moore. And then uh wasn’t it Aaron Banks? Like the contract you got from the Packers? Wasn’t that one four for like 77? It was like 20 a year. Yeah, I think he’s actually played pretty well. But the Dan Moore one was just absolutely ridiculous, right? I But to your point, Andress, like listen, if the Bears think he could get that type of contract in free agency, then yeah, keep him and try to play the comp pick game. I just think teams are going to look at this though and be like, “Okay, he’s coming off a major ankle injury. Didn’t look the same. Uh, and he got benched for a UDFA player out of Canada.” Like, is that a guy we’re giving three for 62? Like it feels like he he might sign like a Cam Robinson type deal with the Texans where it’s one for like 14. It’s kind of like a prove it deal and if you play well we’ll extend you type thing. But we’ll see. Andress, maybe I’m wrong. I uh I I don’t know. He’ll have an interesting free agency. Yeah. I mean also too like you know we’ve talked about a world and again I would consider this very un Shout out to the chat for naming random Bears players by the way. Yeah. They’ve been doing this for a minute. Eddie Pierro 49ers kicker. There we go. Um, I will say, uh, you know, what if Braxton Jones does have to return to the lineup at some point? We talked about it, you know, coming into the season, how he was recovering off of that leg injury and then, you know, he was kind of working his way back from that. What if some time off, you know, he kind of rebuilt some strength, he looks better? Who knows? I mean, I wouldn’t consider that likely, but yeah, look, I don’t think he’s a bum. I just think he didn’t he didn’t look quite the same as before. and before he had limitations. So, I’m not surprised they made the move. I’m not surprised they made the move. All right, two more segments here. We got a lot more Bears football to talk here. Uh, including a little trade talk. Uh, a source told me that the Bears are sniffing around the cornerback market. Uh, which could signal that they are not thrilled with how Nan Wright is playing. So, we’ll talk about that next here on Chicago Bears. Now, coming up here on Chicago Bears Now, are the Bears sniffing around for a cornerback as the trade deadline looms in a couple of weeks? A source told me a little nugget on that. So, we will talk about that and explore some options coming up on today’s show. [Music] I’m Harrison Graham. is Ryan Paul sniffing around the trade market with hopes of adding a corner. Uh, a source told me as much that some calls have been made to see uh, who could possibly be available around the league. And why is that, you ask? Well, obviously Jaylen Johnson’s injured and there’s no guarantee he comes back this year. Could come back in December, but that’s unlikely or at least unknown. Um, Tyreek Stevenson’s obviously playing well. You feel good about that. Kyler Gordon’s back at nickel. Thought he had an okay first game, but you hope he plays better moving forward and I think he will. Uh Nan Wright, who had a great or pretty good game in week one with that pick six against Minnesota, has not been great since. Uh then we’re being honest. That’s what this tells me. If my source is accurate on this, it tells me that they at least want to bring in competition, if not an upgrade over Nan Wright, who is the weak link in your secondary right now. You feel good about Kevin Bard and Jaquan Brisker. You feel good about Tyreek Stevenson who stacked three really good games in a row. Uh you feel good about Kyler Gordon in that nickel spot moving forward. Nan Wright and if you look at the Jaden Daniels passing chart, that was the area uh that he was attacking and that other quarterbacks have been attacking, especially in recent weeks. You compare him and Tyreek Stevenson on similar targets. Uh Nan Wright’s given up about double the completions, more yards, two touchdowns. Uh passer rating of 115 when targeted. Tyreek’s at 61. Um he does have seven breakups, so he is making some plays. It’s not like he’s been awful. Uh but if we’re being fair, he’s been the worst player in your secondary. Now, I don’t really expect him to be awesome. He’s like your fifth corner. Remember Terrell Smith is out for the season as well. Like I think Nishan Wright we should give some credit to for a making this roster. When they signed him, I did not think that would be the case. B competing in training camp to have a chance to start. Obviously, as the games have played out, um you know, he was better in practice than he has been in the games. He’s a fine backup. He’s not a starter. If he had to play in a three or four game sample size, I think you can feel comfortable enough to get by. I think what what this signals is over the course of 17 games, and I think we’ve seen that play out the last few weeks, a guy like this can get exposed because he’s not a week-to-eek starting caliber player at this stage in his NFL career. He certainly shouldn’t be expected to even be 80% of Jaylen Johnson. You’re hoping he’s half the player Jaylen Johnson has been. And all things considered, he’s had a few key takeaways. The pick six, the fumble recovery uh to set the the Bears up to win that game against Washington. I give him a lot of credit while also acknowledging you could probably do better, which is what the Bears are probably sniffing around trying to figure out if they can find a minor trade that’s not going to cost them too much to potentially upgrade that position. So, I ask you, should the Bears trade for a quarterback? Type Y for yes, they should. Type N for no, they should not. I’m definitely open to looking around. I would not trade for like a bigname guy because, you know, I still think Jaylen Johnson’s a part of this team’s future. But if there’s a, you know, low mid-level CB2 out there that you can put opposite of Jaylen, uh, I would definitely be open to that. Okay, five players that we’re going to discuss and then we’ll look at a few free agents as well. One in particular that I think could become interesting pretty soon. Uh, Reek one. There was a report about three weeks ago uh that Seattle is open to trading him and that’s because he’s kind of been squeezed out of their starting lineup. Um you know his rookie year as a fifth round pick, sixth round pick, whatever it was, oh my god, this guy’s awesome. Big, fast, takes the ball away. People were like, is this Richard Sherman or something? Uh still had two picks the next year, three the year after that, but was giving up more completions. And then this year he’s just kind of been phased out. Josh Job has been a revelation uh for Seattle and producer Cullen Brown who’s a Seahawks fan. I think he can speak to this as well. Um Colin, explain what’s happened to Reek and Mike McDonald’s defense in terms of why he’s not a starter and what do you think a trade could look like here as he is in the final year of his rookie contract? Yeah, crazy to think that Reek Woolen once was a Pro Bowler for what, you know, being a Pro Bowler is worth. Uh look, I mean, he’s got all the ability. He’s got the size. He’s got the speed. The athletic profile is some of the best out of any quarterback in the National Football League. But in my personal opinion, he’s got, you know, numerous amount of flaws. He can be undisiplined at times. He can be grabby in coverage. He doesn’t always do the best at getting his head turned around whenever there’s a 50/50 ball thrown down field. And he’s not the most willing tackler, which can be a problem in a lot of defenses. And look, we’ve seen it throughout this year and, you know, throughout the time in Seattle. He’s been up, he’s been down, he’s inconsistent. I think ultimately though, I mean, if you’re Seattle, you’re trying to compete in the NFC like the Bears, you you kind of value quarterback depth necessarily, even if Rick Woolen may not be your starter. Um, you know, you want to try to keep him. Now, he is in the final year of his deal, so maybe they could look to move off him. I think a fifth would absolutely get this uh deal done. Now, could you settle for a sixth if it came down to it? And maybe you just wanted kind of a fresh reset in the locker room. Sure. But, you know, I don’t know if a pick swap gets this deal done in my personal opinion. Yeah. One play that stood out this year was that Jake Tanis touchdown against San Francisco in week one where Brock Perie, former Bear by the way, Jake Tanis, Brock Party quite frankly throws a reckless ball when he didn’t have to. I think it was first or second down uh in the corner of the end zone and Reek Wins in decent position and just does not make a good play on the ball. Uh he does not shield Tanis who comes around him and kind of mosses him for the touchdown. Uh that was kind of a poor play. So, you know, I’ll ask you this too, Colin, before we get to the next guys, because I think the question with all these guys we’re going to discuss. Is he an upgrade over Nan Wright? If it’s a clear yes, then I’d be interested if the price is right. If it’s not, it’s like, well, is there really a purpose to making it a move? You answer this question. You’ve seen Nan Wright play five games this year. Would you rather go to battle with Reek Woolen for the rest of the season or Nan Wright if you’re the Chicago Bears? Listen, I mean, if you have any potential in terms of, you know, giving this guy an extension, um, I’m I’m more than game. I think Reed Woolen has the potential to be a very, you know, capable starting quarterback in this league. Nhan Wright, he’s really only shown that now for what, you know, five games and everything. I think that, you know, the Bears are kind of in this unique position where, you know, you have Jaylen Johnson, obviously, who will return from injury. You have Kyler Gordon, you have Tyreek Stevenson. Unless you had some disconcern with, uh, you know, Tyreek Stevenson, Rick Woolen’s going to be looking for a contract extension. I don’t know if he would make sense in the Bear system. That being said, I do think Reek does have the just because of his athletic profile, more of a, you know, higher ceiling, if you will, than Nan Wright, but Nan Wright’s also been in the system, as you mentioned, since training camp. So, that would also take time to adjustment. So, if you’re looking at this from a rental perspective, I would rather keep Nan Wright if I’m the Bears. But, if you’re thinking, hey, you know, maybe we’re looking to invest in this guy long term, then I would pull the trigger on Report. Yeah. And you wonder if they did do that. Are you wor Are they worried about Jaylen’s long-term diagnosis uh with the surgery? So definitely an interesting name. A guy who took the league by storm and it’s kind of been up and down since. All right, we’ll go off Reek Woolen here. Uh Alante Taylor with the Saints. We’ll get a a look at him this weekend as the Bears take on New Orleans at Soldierfield. Obviously, you’ve got the Dennis Allen connection um there, so he’s familiar with him. Second round pick a couple years ago. like Reek Woolen, he is in a contract year set to be a free agent in 2026. Kind of a nickel outside corner hybrid. And again, to me, it’s got to be someone who could play outside. With Kyler back, you’ve got backup nickel options on the roster already. So, you would have to uh think Alante Taylor could play outside, but from a guy who could just step in and knows the defense, uh that would be a pretty seamless transition. So, if the Bears beat the Saints this weekend, they fall to one and six and New Orleans uh is looking to go into full cell mode. Maybe a guy like Alante Taylor could be kind of a cheap option, a pick swap or something like that. Okay, plenty of trade rumors to come over the next few weeks leading up to the trade deadline. We also cover day-to-day news in terms of injury updates, what’s going on with the team, game previews. We go live every game day as well. So, if you’re a diehard Bears fan, we’re the channel for you. Hit that subscribe button. Okay. Rul Douglas, who signed in August uh with Miami, actually has a pretty good uh coverage grade this year. uh per PFF, which has been all over the map, but I’ve seen them play a little bit. I think he’s held his own. Uh he’s got four breakups, has a force fumble as well. Um historically in his career, he’s been a pretty good tackler. I don’t know how that part of it has graded out uh and looked this year, but you know, this would be like a cheap rental to me. He’s 30 years old. He didn’t sign till August. So like to me, anything more than a pick swap, like I’m not doing that for a guy who signed two months ago. Maybe I’d do just the seventh, but ideally I’d get a pickback. So, um, you know, we’ll see. I think Miami and New Orleans, two teams that could go into fire sale mode. So, you might be able to get guys for 75 cents on the dollar. And what is Russul Douglas on the dollar? Like a sixth or a seventh. So, that probably means pick swap is something you could get for them. All right, more corners to explore, a couple more trade targets, and then uh a few free agents, especially one in particular that I’m pretty intrigued about uh that we’ll talk about in a second. That’s right. $10 can turn into 20,000. Uh I’ve already got one lineup uh in the chamber for this weekend. I’ll definitely fire off some more. But, uh, I’ve got, uh, Trevor Lawrence, more than half a passing touchdown. That’s a goblin pick. Those are easier to hit. Little hint, I like the QB plays of more than half a touchdown. They’re usually goblin plays, lower payout, but they hit often. It’s a passing league. Uh, I’ve added Caleb Williams more than 228 and a half passing uh, to that. Plus, uh, Cam Scataboo, more than half a touchdown, either run or catch, and he does catch some passes. That’s a demon play. Harder to hit. Denver’s got a good defense, but you get inside the five Scataboo. I like his chances of scoring there. So, $20 entry to win 80 bucks. Download the Price Fix app today. Deontay Banks, who is not even playing anymore for the Giants. first round pick a couple of years ago back in I think it was the Darnell Wright draft 2023. Um yes it was. But he’s been I mean mostly a bust is putting it nicely. He’s been a bust. If you’re not starting in year three uh as a first round pick, you’re you’re a bust at least up to this point. Um I liked him coming out. He’s got physical attributes I’m a fan of. He flashed some his first couple of years but talked to our Giants host Marshall Green. Uh apparently he doesn’t have a great attitude. Uh he’s very grabby. He doesn’t get his head turned around. He just has not developed. Now, change of scenery, the old cliche. Sometimes that works. Um, again, is he helping you? Is he an upgrade over Nan Wright? Like, I would almost look at this like this is more like a long-term play. Like, he’s got a year left on his deal. He was a first round pick. Um, he’s probably an upgrade over Jaylen Jones. So, if Nan Wright were to go down, Deontay Banks does at least have some extensive experience here in his first two and a half years in the league. I’m not convinced he’s better than Deshawn Wright in Dennis Allen system from day one, but you know, maybe you get him in a month from now. Uh you put him in the game and uh he makes some plays for you. But uh I’d be it’d be hard to say he’s better than right because the Giants secondary is not that good. He’s on the bench. So uh I uh I just don’t feel great. Here’s one thing I will say. I don’t like Shane Bones defense, the Giants defensive coordinator, and he’s kind of vanilla. Dennis Allen is much more exotic, especially with his coverages. So maybe a guy like Banks who does have talent, fresh changes of scenery, more exotic defense, maybe those physical attributes could be shown more in a defense like this by low on a talented guy. I wouldn’t be against it. I just don’t know if he’s like immediate help in terms of getting on the field and playing. Uh Riley Moss, he there’s been some trade buzz around him. He’s been a little up and down uh so far this year. He’s in uh year three of his rookie contract. Um you know, look at his career stats. He’s played in 34 games. He’s started 20. So, he’s kind of been a part-time starter for Denver uh at times. He’s been starting this year. Uh has a pick, has 13 breakups in his career. Uh is under contract through next year. So, this would be a guy kind of like Deontay Banks uh where you’d have more than just the second half of this season with him. You could uh see if he could help you in the near term. I actually do think he’d be an upgrade over Nhan Wright and uh he could uh potentially help you next year uh as a third or fourth corner. Uh gives you options depending on what Jaylen Johnson’s injury is long term. We hope Jaylen’s back and you know is back to his allp pro self, but you know surgery you never know. So uh you know those last two guys, young players with talent, especially Banks obviously as a first round pick, but Moss who’s been the better player. So that might be a guy who could help you now and in the future. Banks probably doesn’t help you as much now, but could maybe help you more in the future. So, it’s all, you know, it’s all a different flavor. Do you want the guy who helps you the most right away? Do you want the guy who could help you long term? So, it’ll be interesting to see what the approach is with the Bears if they truly do uh want to add a corner. So, five guys we took a look at here. Pick a quarterback to trade for. Is it Reek one? Is it Alante Taylor? Rul Douglas? Deonte Banks? Riley Moss? Is it someone else? You know, there’s been uh Denzel Ward buzz with the Browns. Uh maybe they would ship him out, but I don’t want to spend or trade for an expensive corner, especially if Jaylen Johnson’s still in the future plans, which I don’t see why he wouldn’t be. So, uh I would not go that route. All right, quickly, we will take a look at some free agents here. Um there is no uh Kendall Fuller here. He signed with the Lions practice squad. Now, technically, you could poach him off the practice squad, but if they if the Bears were interested, I think they would have just signed him. So, I don’t think he’s an option. But Stefon Gilmore, James Bradberry, Asante Samuel Jr., more on him in a second. But Gilmore, I thought played at a lowend CB2 level last year with the Vikings. Like serviceable starter, but clearly his best days behind him. Is that more better than Nan Wright? If he plays like that, yes. But is he going to play at that same level after not playing at all this year? That, you know, I think you’d have to work him out and kind of just see. James Bradberry, his last year, year and a half with Philly was not good. He got he missed all last season. They were actually working him out at safety in training camp before he suffered an injury. I think it was at Achilles 2 for an older DB. So, that does not sound like a great option. And then you have Asante Samuel Jr. who his first three years in the league with the Chargers. Pretty damn good. Not like an allp pro or anything, but good player. Uh and um I think was in line to get a nice little contract heading into year four, but then he has like this neck back thing. He had to get a fusion surgery. Uh there was a checkup in August. Uh he was not cleared. He has a follow-up sometime this month. The report was mid-occtober. That’s right where we’re at right now. Maybe by the time you watch this, we have an update. Jeremy Fowler most recently in August said uh he has this medical check in mid-occtober. We’re right there. Um if he clears, the expectation is that he’ll sign with the team. Well, could he be the answer? If you don’t find a trade you like, could Asante [ __ ] for the vet minimum wouldn’t cost you any money. Uh you just bring him in here, compete, maybe he practices for a couple weeks, you ramp him up, and if he’s ready to go, maybe you plug him in and he’s your other outside corner. Cuz again, his first few years in the league, I thought he was playing really well uh for the Chargers. So, I think he all of a sudden has become an interesting option because remember when Jaylen went down and had the surgery, I was like, he’s not realistic. I mean, if you’re looking for help right now, you got to look elsewhere. They ended up uh grabbing Jaylen Jones obviously. Well, that was after training camp actually. But now you’re a month later, you’re in the mix. Maybe he does become an option uh for the Chicago Bears. So, I’m actually pretty intrigued with the idea of Asante Samuel Jr. for Chicago if they can’t find a tra trade that’s reasonable. Now, again, talk about a neck surgery. Like, is he going to get cleared? I don’t know. But if he does, I think he becomes an intriguing option. All right, there you go. Uh we’ll see if the Bears trade or sign a corner. Uh I would guess Nan Wright’s gonna get obviously this weekend. You’re not going to add someone between uh now and the game. Probably the Baltimore game as well. If those two games go poorly, maybe this ramps up and intensifies, but uh it’s not like he’s been a total disaster. We’ll see what happens over the next couple of weeks and uh we’ll see if they trade for a corner. Hit that subscribe button and bear down. All right, little producer cameo for you guys. Little Seahawks uh Reek Woolen breakdown. Who do you guys like on that list? Trades or Free Aidens? Paul Crew in the chat. Yeah, this has been going the whole show. Pretty much like they just been going. Uh I will say for the people that did answer the question, a lot of them were saying Riley Moss. Okay. which I I think he has potential, but like he to me is like one of those boomer bus corners. Kind of similar to some of the other guys. He gets beat deep a lot. Yeah. Mattloose. He who must not be named. Nice. Shador Sanders. Shiloh Sanders. All right, one more segment here. I would take Samuel if he clears. Yeah, if he if he checks if that medical check goes well, Colen, I mean, if you can just get him for nothing. I mean, that minimum for the rest of the year, like helps you out this year, you know, best case scenario, if he shows a lot, maybe he’s a guy you bring back next year. Who knows? Um, it’ll be interesting. It’ll be interesting. Very interesting. All right, we got one more segment and then we are getting out of here. Uh, Denver defense is really good this year. Yeah, the thought there is they they have four corners they like. So, Moss has been rumored as someone they would let go for the right price. So, you know, our Broncos guy said maybe a fourth round pick. That might be a little rich for me. I don’t think you need a corner that badly, Colin. Yeah. I don’t know if that would be even a correct price. I’d be looking at a sixth or later for any CB trade or like a swap. Yeah. Like I’m not trying to Wright hasn’t been so bad now. Maybe I’d change my tune the next couple weeks, but he hasn’t been so bad that like you’re just desperate. Yeah. Um like if we go out if we come, you know, if we’re doing the post game after the game Sunday and it’s like, yeah, you know, Bears won, but Sean Wright, man, he just got Look, if like if a lav is on him and goes for like eight and 150 and two touchdowns and you lose or something like, okay, we can have a different discussion. But it’s not like it’s been there hasn’t been one game where you’re just like god he’s a disa I mean even the commanders game he got kind of screwed on a couple of calls. So um let’s see let’s see if he can bounce back this week. All right final segment and then we’ve got to get out of here as uh we are uh getting toward the end of our week here at Bears now and uh got to gear up for Sunday. Man, noon game feels weird. We haven’t had a noon game since uh God was week two, I think. Yeah, it was week two. Week one, Monday night. Week two at Detroit was noon. Yep. Then we were in the afternoon window. Dallas and Vegas and then Monday night again after by week and then Yeah. Monday. Pretty rare for the Bears. Usually a decent amount of noon games. So, um and that’s what we’re having here moving forward. We got noon this week, noon against Baltimore and Cincinnati. It’s all the way noon Sunday until the Eagles game, right? Um I think yeah, the next six games now you could start to enter like some some flex windows here. Like if the Bears and Steelers are both good, Rogers return to Soldier Field. Does that become a spot? Yeah. Where NBC tries to get that game? Because let’s just look. That’s week, let’s see, seven, eight, nine, 10, 11. That’s week 12. So only prime time game you’re kids. Are you saying other than the Eagles game obviously because that’s you know Friday but because week 12 Sunday night football I mean Bucks Rams is really good so maybe they wouldn’t pivot off of that but again things could change sometimes they do the noon 325 swap too like that. Didn’t the Niners get one of those recently? Um, of they the Niners are notorious for flopping for that one flipping. Oh, there you are. I mean, the afternoon window that week is Falcons Saints on Fox. Is that a is Well, Bears, Steelers is CBS, Jags, Cardinals, Browns, Raiders. I could see a swap there. So, we’ll see. We’ll see. Long way to go. Long way to go. All right, one more segment here and then uh we will get out of here. Appreciate everybody still hanging with us. We got over 540 people watching. You guys are the goats and um sorry looking at some Twitter updates. Nothing Bears related. We are good there. All right, let’s talk about some storylines. A lot of interesting angles of this Bear Saints game. So, we’ll get into that next. [Music] I’m Harrison Graham. On today’s episode of Chicago Bears Now, we dive into some storylines that are lurking as the Bears host the Saints on Sunday afternoon. Back in the noon window for the first time since week two when the Bears got druged in Detroit, but good to be back home. First home game since Dallas in week three. Uh, a lot of fun angles here with this matchup. some player storylines, coach storylines, couple revenge game angles. Is this a trap game? We’re going to get into it all coming up here on Chicago Bears now. But if you’re going to join us this Sunday for our Bear Saints watch party, this is our thumbnail. If you see this, you’re in the right place. That’s myself, producer Cullen, Chicago Bears. Now, we’ll go live at 10:45 a.m. Central time for a 12:00 noon game. Full pregame show. will stay alive during the game and of course we’ll have our live postgame right here on Chicago Bears now. So subscribe and join us this Sunday. Okay, let’s get to some Bears Saint storylines. Is this a textbook trap game? There are a lot of things that point to that. Let’s first dive into the obvious one. Well, you’re coming off an emotional win, right, against the Washington Commanders. uh Monday Night Football, everything that happened last year, that was a spot that was a high motivation game going into it. Like I I’ve said it a couple times this week, winning this game against the Saints after that, especially if it’s in a straightforward manner, would almost impress me more about this team and coaching staff, than that win did because that win you had all the motivation in the world after what happened last year. So, I think responding and winning this week would be impressive. Uh, it’s just a short week, so that could lead to a trap. And the Saints are inferior on paper, so this could be a look ahead spot. Oh, you got the Ravens next week. It’s being reported Lamar’s going to be bad. That could end up being a high stakes game for both the Bears, uh, and the Ravens. So, there are legitimate reasons for the cliche textbook letdown spot game here. Um, you know, all those things I just said. So, that’s why I’ve said all week, the theme of the week has got to be focus. And I trust this coaching staff to make sure this team remains focused. But you come out flat lacadasical, this this Saints team can give you trouble. I mean, they’re scrappy for one and five. So, uh I trust the Bears to not overlook them, but there are some ingredients here of what would be labeled as that textbook uh trap game. Are you concerned about this being a trap game? Type Y for yes, type in for no. I would say like very lowly, mildly concerned. I’m not major concerned because I just think this team has has a a different feel and energy right now. I do trust this coaching staff, but these are human beings. It’s human nature uh coming off a game like that to to let down a little bit. So hopefully uh that doesn’t happen. Uh I think being at home helps. If this was in the Superdome, I I would be more concerned, but I think being back at Soldier Field uh can help the Bears avoid that trap a little bit better. Okay, Dennis Allen revenge game. We briefly spent some time on this uh during our preview episode. Go check that out if you want more kind of X’s and O’s, numbers breakdown, keys to victory for this game. That’s on the channel in the content tab. Uh Dennis Allen was asked about this uh on Thursday uh when the coordinators speak and he said, “This is the NFL. Everybody is trying to win this week. I probably wouldn’t try to make anything more of it than what it is. It’s the next opponent on the schedule. I’m sure they feel the same way. We’re excited about the opportunity.” I think in terms of just the on the- field part of this and look I think you know the game starts Dennis Allen sees his opponent out there some former players you know competitive fire kicks into gear right like there might be a little something extra there but I think DA is a competitive guy regardless of who he’s going against so I mostly believe him uh when he says that uh I also know this to be true he knows the Saints offensive personnel well nine of 11 starters from last year are still the starters this year Spencer Rattler finished the last five or six games last year as the starting quarterback. He’s the guy still despite them drafting Tyler Shuck. Alvin Kamar still the starting running back. Kendra Miller still their number two. Uh Chris, Rasheed Shahed, still the top two receivers. Jawan Johnson still the starting tight end. Uh Trevor Penning still the starting left guard. They moved him inside last year. Eric McCoy, Caesar Ruiz, still your starting center and right guard. Uh Foga played some left tackle last year, so that’s a bit of a change. He’s been their full-time right tackle this year, but DA still knows him very well. So nine of 11 starters are back. The only major difference is Kelvin Banks at left tackle. Pretty much everything else uh is the same uh when it comes to the Saints. Brandon Cooks is their number three receiver, but like you know, Dennis Allen has gone up against him a lot in his career, I would imagine, as well as he’s been in this league a long time. Uh another thing Dennis said is that this Saints team is continuing to improve. I completely agree. I’ve said it all week. This is what I would call a good one in five team. This is not the Titans who are a joke of a one and5 team. This is not the Jets who are an embarrassing 0 and6 team. Even the Browns who are good on defense. I think this Saints team is better than that. So this is not a game you could just show up and expect to win. The Saints can beat you. They are a few plays away from being three and three if not four and two. Uh I do expect Dennis Sound to have a strong game plan. I do expect him to have a competitive fire in this game. I don’t think he’ll make it too much more than what it is. Again, I think some of those, you know, competitive things will kick in once the game actually gets here on Sunday. But, uh, yeah, I think it’s a storyline for us on the outside, not as much on the inside. I think the revenge aspect from last week, way stronger across the board than Dennis Allen going up against the Saints. Okay, Caleb Williams versus Spencer Rattler. For those who don’t know, and I think most of us do, uh, they were both at Oklahoma at the same time for a year. We’ll kind of revisit that and talk all about that angle of it, plus some quotes uh from Spencer and Caleb uh that took place this week. But first, want to tell you guys about our awesome sponsor, Prize Picks. You and I make decisions every day, but on Prize Picks, being right can get you paid. Don’t miss any of the excitement this season on Prize Picks, where it’s good to be right. Looking to get back on the saddle this week after missing my most recent prize picks lineup. And I got to say, with basketball coming back soon and hockey getting going, I’m going to start mixing in some other sports uh with prize picks as well. You can do that, by the way. You could have a player with a football player or a lineup with a football player, a basketball player, a hockey player, a soccer lineup on the same lineup. The only thing that you need to qualify for a lineup is to pick two or more players on two or more different teams and pick more or less on the stat projections available. You do that, it qualifies for a prize picks lineup. Price Fix is also the only app that offers stacks, meaning you can pick the same player up to three times in one single lineup. So, if you want to take more on Caleb Williams pass yards, rush yards, and touchdowns, you can do so right now on Prize Picks. I’ve got a three-point lineup that I like, and I’m sure I’ll find some more lineups to fire off this week. Uh, I like Trevor Lawrence to throw for at least one touchdown pass. So, give me the more than half a touchdown. Uh Caleb Williams more than 228 and a half passing yards. Threw for 252 last week in an average game for him. Uh so I like 228 and a half at home against the Saints. I also like Cam Scataboo more than half a rushing or receiving touchdown. Demon play there while the Taw one is a goblin. So kind of evens out there. $20 entry to win 80 bucks on this three player lineup. Download the Prize Pix app today. Use our code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. That is code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. Prize picks. It’s good to be right. Okay, let’s talk about this uh quarterback matchup. Don’t forget uh Spencer Rattler and Caleb Williams were being coached at Oklahoma by Lincoln Riley at the same time. Spencer Rattler was a red shirt sophomore when Caleb Williams came on campus and was the backup. They actually competed for the starting job. Lincoln Riley stuck with Rattler, who had a really good red shirt freshman season, was also a five-star recruit a couple of years prior. And if you remember going into that season, he was the preseason number one overall pick. Caleb’s on the record back in the day saying he thought he’d be out Rattler in training camp. He’s also on the record back in the day that the idea that these guys hated each other was completely false. They’re not homies or anything. And there’s quotes this week that we’ll point to in a second, but Caleb ends up taking Rattler’s job and beating Texas in the Red River showdown in that epic uh comeback win in 2021. And I don’t know if I’ve ever said this on this channel. I was talking to producer Cullen about this. I was actually at Caleb Williams first collegiate start. Uh I’m a TCU alum and fan. I drove up to Norman, Oklahoma and watched that game and that was Caleb’s first start and he went nuclear. So kind of full circle moment that he’s become the Bears quarterback. So, kind of a fun little nugget there for you guys. But, let’s get to some quotes from each of these quarterbacks. Here was Spencer Rattler talking about his opponent this week and his former teammate. Uh, this was him about being benched in favor of Caleb Williams. He says, “It is what it is. We all have our own paths. The past is the past. We’re focused on the present and the future. That led me to South Carolina. It was a blessing in disguise that I got to play with the Gamecocks and develop there.” Uh, Rattler also said this about the relationship or lack thereof between the two. He said, “We’re cordial. I’ll say what’s up to him at the game. Got respect for him. Good player.” So, and we’ll get to Caleb in a second, but I think kind of a look like they recognize each other, but like they’re not texting each other, right? And listen, not everybody has to be best friends. I think uh I think that stuff gets overplayed sometimes. Caleb had this to say about Spencer and his former teammate. He said, “We haven’t really spoken much. We don’t really keep up that much, but I’m excited for the matchup. I know he’s excited. We’ll go out there and have a blast. So, I’m sure there will be a little moment before uh the game, hey, good luck. Uh keep doing your thing, yada yada. Everything we see after the game as well. Uh but, you know, they’re not going to be buddies. Caleb took his job. Like, why why they were competing? I think they respect each other, which they both said, but why would they be best friends? Like, that that’s not a surprise whatsoever. They’re competitors. Uh but I also don’t sense any bad blood. You know, you have these [ __ ] accounts on Twitter like Dove who are like, “Oh my god, Spencer Rattler said uh uh Ricordial, he clearly doesn’t like who cares.” Like that’s so overexaggerated and played out. Uh both guys are highly touted. They were both former five-star recruits. Uh I actually gave Rattler a lot of credit. Um I was kind of out on him and he’s come out here and played well this year. So they believe in themselves. They’re talented guys and uh it’s going to be fun to see these two duke it out on Sunday. Who do you guys think has the better game this week? Type Cub for Caleb Williams or SR for Spencer Rattler? Hopefully it’s our guy and uh I like how our guy’s playing. Okay, the revenge game no one’s talking about. I think Trisy Trace might be talking about it on Saints Now is the Kendra Miller revenge game. I’m not sure how familiar you guys are with this, but Kendrey Miller, TCU Hornfrog, by the way. him and Dennis Allen reportedly hate each other. There was like heavy whispers early on in his time there. Kendra was recovering from a nasty injury. If you guys remember when TCU beat Michigan, went to the national title game. Miller got hurt in that semi-final game. Had to have a surgery. Never quite seemed right his rookie year. Then last year he retweaked something. I remember there being rumors of like Dennis Allen and the medical like something a disagreement between the medical staff and Miller status or something and those two just never got along. He was in DA’s doghouse most of his time there. Um you look at the numbers here. He played eight games as a rookie. Six in his second year. So he didn’t play that much. A due to injuries and B due to Dennis Allen I just either not trusting him, not liking him, whatever the case may be. This year he’s having uh a pretty good year as the number two uh behind Kindre Miller. So, I’m expecting that guy to be pretty motivated for this matchup. He’s actually been a little more efficient than Alvin Kamar despite being more of a physical runner. He’s averaging four yards per carry. Chimera is actually just at 3.8, but um I think that for him is a story line. For the Bears, it’s not a huge one. Uh but, uh keep an eye on Kendra Miller and Alvin Kamara. Those two guys can obviously uh have really good games here. And then lastly, just with the trade deadline here and with the Saints potentially becoming sellers, there’s already been chatter on some guys they could look to trade. Are there some potential trade targets for the Bears in this game? Some guys that have been mentioned, Alvin Chimera, who sounds like he does not want to get traded. He extended with the Saints last year, wants to stay with New Orleans, uh, despite them not uh, being a contender. So, we’ll see if that stance changes or if the Saints off to trade him anyway. The Bears aren’t going to trade for a receiver, but Chris Olive and Rasheed Shahed have been mentioned. So is Brandon Cooks for what it’s worth. Uh Cameron Jordan, 36, 37 years old. You know, does he want to get up and move even if it’s just for a few months? Um I think he could help this Bears defensive line. So could Carl Granderson coming off the edge, a player that Cullen Brown, our producer, mentioned way back in July as a potential mid-season trade target. So could the prophecy be fulfilled? And then Alante Taylor, kind of a corner nickel hybrid. Uh we did a full video on potential uh quarterback trade as a source told me that that could happen. Uh he could be a player to monitor as well. You guys let me know. Is there a player on the Saints the Bears should trade for? I know some people would say Chase Young. I haven’t heard his name mentioned in trade talks uh up to this point. If you could get him for a reasonable pick, I’d be interested. He does have a fairly extensive injury history, so I wouldn’t want to give up a day one or day two draft pick, but fourth, fifth, you know, I I’d consider that. uh if I was the Bears, but uh we’d have to wait and see. All right, there you have it. Some storylines. Don’t fall into the trap. I don’t think it’s a big trap game, but I do think it’s a game where if you don’t play well, uh the Saints could beat you. So, hit that subscribe button, turn on notifications. We will be live this Sunday, 10:45 a.m. Central time with kickoff set for noon. Alrighty, we are going to get out of here shortly unless unless you guys want us to stay Michael Horowit shows up. Just kidding. Um yeah. No, I mean uh any just kind of final any kind of final thoughts as we you know approach this game? Again, you’ve nailed it, right? Like you know, focus focus focus. you know, don’t uh don’t get ahead of yourself there. I Is there one like here I’ll give you I’ll ask you this before we get off live. Is there one player matchup that you could potentially see have a major impact on this game in one regard? Yeah, I mean they’re always I mean you know could Rasheed Shahed give either of these corners trouble not consistently but on a couple explosives you know I think the receivers Tyreek Stevenson historically struggles with the most are those shifty speed smaller guys he’d rather get in your face be physical like I actually like Reek on a this weekend I think that’s a matchup he can hold up well in um so it’ll be interesting to see how Kell Moore moves him around against these corners cuz Shahed can change a game in one play. Um, so I think that’s one that could be in the Saints favor potentially. And then, um, for the Bears, this DeAndre Swift injury thing that’s popped up, how could that impact the run game that has seemingly found at least for one week some answers. So, tomorrow will be big, but um, in terms of his status. So, hopefully he’s good to go. But, you’d hate to lose that momentum with him. you know, has his breakout game, then boom, he’s out for a week. So, um, yeah, I mean, I’d like to see, uh, I think this could be a tight end’s game. You know, Demaro Davis is still really good, but at his age, he he’s more of a downhill linebacker. So, like KT Lovelin, KT had a huge game against the Saints a couple years ago when uh, Tyson Bean actually started for Justin Fields. Remember, he mossed Tyron Matthew in the end zone if you guys remember that. I think he may have had a second touchdown that game. I’m not sure. But um I think you could attack the middle of the field with the tight ends. Maybe this is the game Lovelin breaks out. I thought maybe it would be last week, but uh yeah, I think those are uh a few different areas that I’ll be keeping an eye on. There’s always interesting matchups. The one thing you don’t want to do is the Saints have not generated a lot of explosives this year. I think that’s like one way you could lose this game. like if Shahed gets loose a couple times, if Chimera uh gets loose on a play or two, like make them methodically drive down the field because that’s really been their offense. It’s been a lot of quick passing games and you know, their running backs haven’t gotten super loose. So, you know, I would I would hope that that continues and you know, if you force teams to go on 8, 10, 12 play drives, it increases your chances of, you know, creating a takeaway um on those longer drives. So hopefully the Bears can can do that and eliminate the explosives because I think that’s really the only the only major like obvious way you could lose. I mean obviously if Caleb goes out there and throws three picks or something you can lose, but um don’t let Shahed get behind you. Like that’s like that’s like one thing I would uh I would emphasize. So for sure uh haven’t mentioned his name too much uh this week, but just keep an eye on Jawan Johnson. He’s actually their second most targeted player. Yeah. um second most targeted receiver after a l and look at he’s a sneaky tight end. This could be a game where I mean Tummaine Edmonds had a really good game against Dallas a couple weeks ago and Brisker was good last. I think the Bears have different guys they can throw at him with Tmaine. Brisker and Bard. Um I don’t think TJ matches up that well with them. Just Jawan’s a pretty big tight end, so you’d want someone who’s a little bit longer. But um yeah, he’s a guy he’s a guy that can go for seven or eight catches. So um Yep. Yeah, I mean again this this Saints team like like compare them and the Titans who have the same record. It is not close. Like they are a far better team than the Tennessee Titans than the the New York Jets, even I think the Cleveland Browns. So, um this is a team that you got to take seriously. Um which you got to take every team seriously, but they’re better than their record in my I thought they were going to be the worst team in the league, Colin. They’ve they’ve impressed me despite only winning one game. I think Kell Moore’s done a nice job early on there. So, um, Taesm Hill’s healthy, too. That that’s I haven’t really talked about him this week. He can always have a random play. I mean, wouldn’t be shocked if they pulled out some kind of trick play where, you know, he does the fake QB power, throws it over the top to somebody. So, um, not sure if they’ve pulled that out of the bag yet this year, but, you know, that’s coming at some point. Kell Moore is pretty creative. So, um, all things to monitor, but we’re going to get out of here. Thank you guys so much for tuning in. Enjoy your weekend. Thursday Night Football tonight. Who you got in this game? Oh man. Bengals, Steelers. Can Can Joe pull it off? I thought he played well in the second half last week. Where is that game? Is it in Cincy? I think it is. Let me double check. Uh it is like a pretty decent spread last I check. It’s in Cincinnati tonight. In Cincinnati 5 and a half to Pittsburgh. I don’t mind a little Bengals moneyline play. I thought they show The only thing is without Trey Hendrickson. That’s what I was going to say. The Steelers aren’t awesome offensively, but like they’ve been pretty good at methodically just driving down the field this year. So, I’d probably pick Pittsburgh. Five and a half is kind of a large number though. I I I like a Bengals cover there. Yeah, I 2420 something like that. Steelers. I could see this being a bit of a rock fight. Short week Thursday night, two old quarterbacks. This is a rock fight waiting to happen. Give me Give me F. Give me the Steelers. A close one. I’ll go 2017. Okay. Yeah. Steelers tight feels right. Um I’d love the Bengals win though. It’ be nice. Shout out to you, Walter. Although if your team trade for Trey Hendrickson somehow, you probably want the Bengals to lose. So there you go. I don’t think the Bears are trading for him. But Jacobe Meyers does not practice. He’s getting traded. I don’t know if it’ll happen before Sunday, but he is not a Raider. All right, we’re out of here. Thank you guys so much. Bear down. We will be live Sunday morning. See you then. [Music]

Bears defensive coordinator Dennis Allen on his approach vs. Saints:
“This is the NFL. Everybody is just trying to win this week. I probably wouldn’t try to make anything more of it than what it is, it’s the next opponent on the schedule. I’m sure they feel the same way. We’re excited about the opportunity.”

Bear Down!!
Got a good chance to win next 4 games
I live in jersey and went the Washington game and plan on going to Baltimore!
Caleb Williams if you're watching this you really need to work on your short passing game.
Seems like when you're getting pressured you tend to rush and overthrow your passes to wide open receivers.
Something to work on…
Troy aikman is not the only that feels like that!!!
If the truth hurts do something about it get better!!!
Hard work pays off
Watch mike go to the titans
Wait Cullen is a Seahawks fan? I thought he was a bears guy
That bengals game looking iffy rn. Tyrique gonna try his best on Chase but Wright gonna get cooked all day with our lack of pass rush unless we trade for someone.
I think this is a breakout game for Caleb and he’s elevated even further after they dominate the saints
