Willie Green | Pelicans-Magic Postgame | 2025 NBA Preseason

Coach, would you uh would you like there especially from that group? I mean, Moses brings the starters back. Yeah. Um you keep the the you know that second third kind of unit out there. What do you see from those guys in that that kind of moment? Um I like the fact that they just continue to play, continue to compete. Um you know, Orlando’s a good team. Uh we know that they’re big, they’re physical. Uh they play a certain style. Um you want to get in the paint, want to rebound. Uh so good good test these last two games to kind of measure where we are and um you know we just feel after that you know good you know preseason’s over but we got another level we can get to. What did you what have you seen from the uh the Jordan pool Zion combination. It seemed like today was kind of a a peak at what it what it could be out there. Yeah, they found some synergy um kind of in the second and third. They found some synergy offensively. Uh so you you could see that it’s there. But um my message to the team was, you know, this is a good test. Um preseason is over. Um we got a chance to see what our team looks like, what we what we can work on. We’ll get back to work when we get back home. Uh but I’m encouraged. Uh I believe that there’s another level that this team can get to. Playerwise, what what do you think the next level is for somebody like Trey? Uh just the consistency on both ends of the floor. um when he locks in, he’s he’s guarding. Um he’s applying the pressure defensively to teams. You know, you got to out compete, outwork. When you’re playing against really good teams, you can’t play at the same level that they play at. You have to out compete, outwork. When he’s doing that on both ends of the floor, you know, he he’s a problem. And then what have you seen? I mean, kind of by necessity, unfortunately, but what have you seen from 100 to attend these last two, especially he’s played to 12, 14, 16 stretches here? Yeah, solid. Solid. I mean, he he’s a season vet coming out of college. You know, he played played five seasons in college. Um, he knows what he’s doing on the floor. We needed his minutes tonight and, um, I thought he stepped on the floor and gave a heck of an effort. Coach Green, uh Zion looks, uh fit and we know he has a high ceiling and a lot of tools. Talk a little bit about what you see from that gentleman. Um just just com commending him on the work that he put in this summer. Um getting in the gym, getting right, and you know, he’s continuing to take steps in in the right direction. And when he steps on the floor, you know, he’s one of the best players in the league. We saw that tonight uh in certain stretches, but he can do that night in and night out and um you know, he’ll continue to work. We we’ll get back home. We’ll keep working. You’ve got some uh new faces and some guys who have been there. Uh the rookies in from Kansas, he can run the floor, do some different things. Looney, and you you got some guys over there. Talk a little bit about putting this thing together and continuing to get better. Yeah, that’s what it’s about. It’s about getting a chance to use these preseason games to see what your team um what what we’re doing well, some areas that we can improve in. We like the fact that we got a chance to go to Australia as a group and um that’s more bonding for some of our new faces. And then we played two really, really good basketball teams in Houston and Orlando. So, we can now take these games, have some film, have some things to work on and prepare for the start of the season. Orlando’s organization that you know. Um talk a little bit about what you see from this club, what they’re putting together, and just as a competitor and as a coach coming in to play this. Yeah, they’re they’re they’re well coached. Uh Mo has done a great job. They’ve done a great job with these guys like, you know, getting guys during the draft and um they step on the floor and and they they they get after it. They play hard, they’re big, they’re physical, they rebound, they share the basketball. Um so really good

  1. Offense: attack early
    Defense:Defend like Zion "steal"
Attack early and copy zion stealing basket balls stealing is a pressure defense on big and quick opponent players .
By applying hard defense is pressure defense by stealing the ball because other players were not good at ball handling others rattle and will make a turn over.
Training: One on one dribbler vs defender
Example:Be like Zion beat his speed 💪💪

  2. Offense attack early defend like Zion especially on encountering big opponents using your speed skills like alvarado and always observed and be patient attack and play like hunters.👏👏👏👏👏👏💪💪💪💪🎉🎊🙌🎊

  3. Jab steal and hook steal prepare pads coach or slap mitts. This pressure steal defense very applicable for thin petite players but easy for zion we know zion is muscular but for the other teammates when the ball handlers bumps simply creates space but if your skilled in steal you will always makes aa pressure and always delays their offense going through shot lock violations.
Apply i called it boxing basketball.

  4. The disadvantage for petite players is physical bump creating a space and advantage but a quick steal hands can pressure a speedy and big ball handlers this is the advantage.
Copy a cat hook and jab steal.
    Your defense is weak.
Make Zion thin but others must gain especially the towers they must gaain weight that's the part of sweet science about basketball.
Petite Zion but big and solid towers to stop penetration from players in the post area.

  6. No sets. ISO-ball offense(hero ball). Never stands up for his players. Zion had no free throws last night… I apologize to Willie, but truly the worst coach in the league. And this Jose love affair????
