Sixers Make SNEAKY Move… | This is HUGE…

We are just under a week away from Sixers basketball officially returning, but Daryl Morg is not quite done putting his imprint on this roster just yet. We have a surprising move that is shown face in the Sixers universe as Marshon Bochamp is joining the Sixers on an exhibit 10 deal first reported by Keith Pompei. This is another taking a shot at a diamond in the rough that I am completely in support of Daryl Morio and I do believe this is a player right now that could make a sneaky difference on this Sixers team immediately. So, let’s get right into what he can bring to the table. And I do have a pretty cool interview clip that I do want to share with you guys here. So, let’s get right into it. I do want to start with the initial report from Keith Pompei that he tweets out. If everything goes as expected, Marshon Bochamp will sign a contract with the Sixers. Sources have said the 6’6 small forward has agreed to an exhibit 10 uh contract with the Sixers. However, a team source said it is not official yet. The source says the Portland Trailblazers are still involved. The bl the Blazers waved Bo Champ on Tuesday, one week after signing him to an exhibit 10 deal. So, at the time of me recording this, I still have not seen the report of this is set in stone. This is absolutely occurred. But typically, when these whispers start to give out for a player like Bo Champ, that typically means it’s happening there. That these sources that Keith Pompe is referring to that he said team source for one, which is certainly in the specifics of it. I would guess he initially caught wind of this from an agent that Bo Champ’s agent directly reached out and and let Pompei know would be my my guess for how this has come to light from a public setting here. Now to speak a little bit more about it, I did want to continue on with the article and this coming from Adam Aronson here who writes, “An exhibit 10 deal gives a player a chance to participate in training camp and preseason with a signing bonus to come if they join that team’s G-League affiliate after being waved. Among the other 10 exhibit or among the other exhibit 10 signes for the Sixers are Kennedy Chandler, who’s been a blast to watch in preseason. Ammani Bates, who’s been underwhelming in preseason, and Malcolm Hill, who I like but is way older than I thought he was. Bo Champ, whose 25th birthday is on Sunday, has played in 135 NBA games across three seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Clippers, and New York Knicks. A first round picks a first round pick by Milwaukee in 2022. Bo Champ now also appears set to join the Delaware Blue Coats to begin the 2526 season. To continue on a little more, writes, “At face value, this deal is practically harmless. The 76ers will probably be content just filling out their two-way spots, and Bo Champ is not going to play much, if at all anyway. Still, given that the existing options in the open market becomes way easier to ponder about those players the front office could have gone after instead, at least from a potential perspective. Bo Champ has never gotten his fair shake in the NBA. Once pegged as a potential key player for the Bucks, he found himself languishing in Milwaukeee’s bench behind his veteran counterparts, resulting in him bouncing around the league as of late. And to interject here, that is the Doc Rivers experience, ladies and gentlemen, that we’ve seen it up close and personal here in Philadelphia that we’ve seen playoff series where Furcon Cork Moss and Matis Thyel are playing more minutes than Tyrese Maxi simply because of rookie. We’ve seen Isaiah Joe not be able of getting off the pine and now be a NBA champion with the Oklahoma City Thunder. So, I do not fault Marshon Bochamp for not getting an opportunity as a rookie because that is the way that Doc Rivers is wired. Now, to get a little bit more into him specifically, I did want to pull up this old interview clip that I had of myself speaking to the G-League Ignite head coach Jason Hart there. And this is a couple years ago. This is prebeard Shawn Bernard. This is me a little bit less polished in my media speaking. I would say I had a little secondhand embarrassment watching this clip back, but I did think this was good intel on what this guy brings to the table. And I will note this was one of my guys come draft time at this specific draft that this was a dude I was bought in on a really cool story a dude who had a really tough upbringing and let me pull up exactly what Jason said here I want to get into who’s a very interesting story and a guy that I personally have come to really like is Marjon Bo Champ. So definitely a unique story in terms of a guy that took a little bit of a gap after high school started to do his NBA prep ended up at community college for a year and then obviously found his way to the G- League Ignite. So, uh, Bo Champ, a very impressive defender, super long, 7 foot one wingspan. I love the way he’s kind of able to just kind of swallow up smaller players when he defends them. To me, I think that’s, uh, very cool the way he does that. Uh, also some shooting concerns there, but something that I, I personally think are over, uh, talked about too much and I’m I’m more confident in his offensive ability that I think kind of the consensus is, but tell me what you like best about Bo Champ’s game and how you think he projects. I think he projects as a three and D individual. He has length. Um he’s a great athlete and uh he shows flashes that he can be a uh he’s going to be a good offensive player well as well. I think the one thing that he brings to an NBA team today is his ability to score without the ball. He knows how to cut really well. Gets out in transition and find ways to impact his team without having plays call for him. Yeah, definitely that cutting ability to me is something that kind of has jumped out to me. and he’s a guy that I feel like doesn’t need the ball a ton to still have a high impact on the offensive end, which is a very a very important asset when kind of building a team and something that I think it takes a lot of takes a while for guys to get. So, especially in transition, I’ve been impressed with. He’s a guy that obviously is not afraid to rise up and dunk on you. Uh do you think transition would kind of be the best uh best aspect of his offensive game or do you think there’s other things that aren’t talked about as much as well? Well, you know, these young men, they can do so much more, but when you becoming a pro, you have to do what they want to see you do. I think as these continue to grow and get better, shooting will, I think, uh, everything will align up to to him being, I think, a starter. And, you know, once everything get comes together. And shout out to Jason Hart for even doing that in the first place. Very cool of him to hop on, especially when I was kind of just starting out there. And I will make it clear that these types of interview interviews are pretty much designed for him to hype up his guys that this specific creation of the G-League was sort of this alternate pathway to the pre-draft process. And to be very clear up here that that program has been completely shut down due to the lack of results that did it. There’s obviously some success stories and some guys that the transition has not been as seamless as possible. A guy like Scoot Henderson I think is always going to be sort of the poster child for this because he spent two years with the Ignite and was drafted second overall and was a guy who had all this hype and ultimately has not lived up to it at least yet and I certainly have my doubts about Scoot moving forward. Would love to be wrong but nonetheless to keep it on Marjon Bo Champ here. This was a guy I very much believed in coming out of the Ignite program but I I like his offball instincts as a cutter. I do believe the shot is still work in progress but something that I I think can get there as a wing. He does have real deal size. his real deal athleticism and defensively is really where I think he can carve out a role. I heard Jason mention that he believes he can be an NBA starter once he puts it all the way together. He hasn’t really had an opportunity to put it all the way together. Now, to just mention his stats from this season, not nearly enough of a sample size to ultimately read into things. Averages 4.5 minutes per game there. 2.3 points, 1.3 rebounds, did shoot 34.5% from three, but a pretty limited sample size here. What I think is probably a better view of this is take a look at his entire statistical profile. So you can see that he started out his career in Milwaukee, spent three years there, really the better part of two and a half. Um, and ultimately across that time never really saw the chance that across the time overall Milwaukee averaging just 11.4 points per game there. 4.2 points, 2.0 rebounds, has shot 35.4% from beyond the three-point arc in his career. And I do think these numbers are worth noting because it is not a consistent sample size because they’re sort of all over the place. That’s still an encouraging number to me. That is right around league average there. He obviously has had his ups and downs. Shot just 20% across his six games with the Knicks, with the Clippers. Shot it incredibly well, but obviously a limited sample size on each of these here. I believe in the shot. This is not a guy that I have the doubts in. I see the clear profile of just a three and D type player. And these are the type of swings once again that I’m thrilled with that Daryl Morty continues to take. This is a guy that is a former first round pick that has some pedigree that is kind of failing his way out of the league. And Daryl saying, “Let’s see if we can get you right back on the right track.” And that is the clear theme that continues to stick out to me is take a look at the bottom of this roster, man. Justin Edwards was a guy who was one of the top recruits in the country. Things did not work out at Kentucky. He went undrafted, landed in Philadelphia, and even though that he has looked pretty rough thus far to start preseason, a guy that I believe in. And once again, the practice is what I’m celebrating here. Even if the player themsel does not specifically work out, the way that this is your how you’re sifting through talent and identifying things, I think is the right process. Dembona, a guy who very clearly has a chance to be like an X-factor of this entire season. He’s getting rave reviews from reporters, from the team around camp, the energy, the athleticism. He’s got to cut back on the foul issues. There’s things that he’s going to have to work on, but a Demona has a chance to play a real role for the Sixers team this year. Jania Broom, we talked plenty about and not a guy that I have full belief in, but I still understand it there. Jabari Walker, another dude who I believe has way too much pedigree to be on a two-way contract. I think it’s kind of crazy that the Sixers were even able to pull that off. Hunter Salace is another example of a guy who was projected to be a first round pick at Wake Forest after absolutely balling his junior year. Came back for one more and shot the ball really poorly below 30% from three and that kind of took him off draft boards. But Daryl my said, “We saw the player that you looked to be last year. We’re taking a chance on that and seeing if it can work it out.” Dominic Barlo sort of a similar story where he’s sort of cut from the Bo Champ cloth where they had a little bit of a different pathway to the NBA. uh Barlo going through the overtime elite uh profile. Uh Bo Champ coming through the G-League Ignite there. And of course heading down the list, Ammani Bates is another example I would use of a guy who had a ton of pedigree, was expected to be a top prospect there. Things did not work out for one reason or another. And for Bates specifically, it was a little bit of legal trouble, some off-c court stuff, but the talent is still there. And these are the guys that they continue to take swings at. So we’ll see if it works out for Marjan Bochamp. But I do want to continue to tip the cap for strengthening up the bottom of the roster. Taking chances on these potential diamonds in the rough is the way you build a very successful and sustainable long-term winner. I will also note that little interview series that you did see on Pix Swap Media. 1. He hasn’t really done shit besides sign and aging Joel embiid, signing a broke down Paul George

He drafts well but that’s it. He should still be fired.

  2. I too like Marjon ability as he has all the tools to become a RoCo type role player he just needs to lock in and shoot better.

Obviously this means Sallis Ex 10 is done.

  3. The Sixers still need more size To compete with other teams, We need a big back up center and powerful forward , We are not picking the right players , The fans want a championship now, Let's go Sixers πŸ’ͺ🏽πŸ’ͺ🏽πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

  4. Forget about Exhibit 10 contracts. That is just an avenue to covert to a G-League contract (with a Bonus) or a 2-Way contract, starting with the day before the regular season begins on Oct 22. You need to consult Grok.

There is no reason for Marjon to play in the G-League except to get some playing time.

The only reason Marjon would consider the Sixers, would be on a 2-Way contract. He may have to sign an E10 just to have it converted next week.
The Blazers may still get Marjon to sign a 2-way with them. Marjon prefers the Blazers, as a young team.
But according to Pompey, Marjon's family prefers the Sixers.

    It is now 50-50.

  5. Beauchamp was 6'5.25" at the 2025 Combine. But he had a 7' 0.25" wingspan, which is what to expect from 6'9" players. Could be bigger today.
Wish that Adam Silver didn't mess things up when he asked to list players is bare feet, but have the NBA doesn't follow that rule.
So no one knows if should call Beachamp 6'6" or 6'7" if rounding up.

They should measure players in bare feet and then add 1 – 1.25" and then report.
That doesn't account for players who grow after their combine.
