The Knicks Have a GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY…
The New York Knicks have a golden opportunity that just fell into their laps at the perfect time as after Malcolm Brogden shocked the NBA world and Knicks fans by retiring from basketball, Leoners and the Knicks have had to pick up the pieces, go out there and now find a new backup point guard for this team. And the perfect opportunity fell into place almost as if it was destiny for the Knicks to go out there and make such an obvious move. And we’re going to jump into exactly what that move is. A lot of you could probably tell by the thumbnail, but this is an emergency right now. You could hear the sirens outside because it’s almost like fate that this happened at this time for the Knicks. So, we’re going to jump right into things, but real quick, if you’re part of that 57% that’s not subscribed, those sirens outside are going to come in to your house and arrest you for not subscribing to Nick just because that means you’re going to be missing out on some Nick’s news. Man, can’t be doing that. Can’t be missing out on some Nicks news because we got updates every single day for you most of the times, more than once per day as well. But let’s jump into the video. There is a lot to go over on this team. As I mentioned, after Malcolm Brogden retired from basketball as a member of the New York Knicks, Leon Rosen Kova to pick up the pieces. Both Shamsia and Stefan Bondi did report that Malcolm Brogden was going to be making the Knicks roster. The Knicks wanted Malcolm Brogden for years, too. This is not something that was new. They wanted him since 2022, and they finally were able to get their hands on him. However, Brogden did not feel like he was able to stay at the NBA speed anymore, ultimately dealing with injuries. He did retire from the sport. Now, I still think it’s a terrible idea because he was one year away from being eligible for healthcare, which would have made sense. But to each their own, I wish Malcolm Brogden nothing but the best for his retirement for the rest of his life. He had a wonderful career and absolutely is a massive success story, especially as a second round pick. But here’s the thing. When it comes down to the Knicks, they have to just push forwards. They have to find a way to add another backup point guard to this team if that’s what they want to do. They do have talented guards on the roster who aren’t going to be starting. I mean, Duce McBride’s there. Jordan Clarkson’s there. You could try to see if Tyler Kohlick is playable this year. There is options that the Knicks have. It’s not like they don’t have any options. At the same time, we know that they see Jordan Clarkson as more of a two guard. We know that they see Juice McBride as more of a combo guard. They see Clarkson as honestly a wing at points as well, too. And that they look at Tyler Kolic as a younger guy who they’re not sure if he’s reached his full potential. And they don’t trust Foley. It’s very clear. So, when we consider that cuz the Knicks wouldn’t have signed another point guard, they wouldn’t have signed Brockton in the first place and been so into him and so into Clarkson if they believed in Tyler Kolic if we’re being honest. But here’s the thing. They do now need to go out and look for other guards. And the perfect opportunity fell into their lap with this guy right here. As recently, we did see that the Charlotte Hornets are waving guard Spencer Denwy. Denwy, an 11-year NBA veteran, signed a one-year deal with the Hornets in July free agency. Charlotte had to release a guaranteed salary ahead of the season opener next week and chose Denwy over Pat Coneton. Now, Denwy last year in 27 minutes made per game for the Dallas Mavericks. Put up 11 points, 2.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists. got a steal per game, can be the main ball handler, shot 41% from the field and 33% from deep. Spencer Denwy went out there and did everything you could have possibly wanted from him as a backup guard. And now we can do that with the Knicks. And considering that he’s 6’5, similar to Don Wright, what the Knicks get is an opportunity to bring in a guy who really would be able to guard multiple positions and can play a few different positions, but can also be that lead ball handler off the bench, giving the Knicks a ball handler that not only fits this team well, but also Jaylen Brunson is familiar with Spencer Denwy. The two of them, they did play together on the Dallas Mavericks. did what he was that team’s sixth man in 2022 when they made that run on the Mavericks to the Western Conference Finals, which is where Jaylen Brunson initially broke out was that 2022 playoffs. That’s when we saw what he could become and what he would eventually become and way more with the Knicks. Denwy and Brunson played a lot of time together when Luca was out against the Utah Jazz in those three games that Luca missed. Now, I mean, everyone was writing the Jazzes or the uh the Mavs obituary during that. Brunson and Denwy were the main factors that prevented that from happening. They each was putting up 20 plus point games constantly doing their thing. So these two know each other. These two are familiar with each other’s game and you could play them together on the court if you want at while at the same time Denwy does give another true ball handler onto this roster you could trust with the point guard duties. Now Denwy’s also spend a lot of time with the Brooklyn Nets and spend a lot of time trash talkinging the Knicks. But you know at the same time he would easily be willing to cross that bridge and go play for the Knicks. The Knicks are a contending team and it makes sense to go out there and want to go back to a city that you’re very familiar with. On top of that, playing for a team that actually wants fans and two has a chance at winning the NBA Finals. Has a very good chance of winning the NBA finals and except the fourth best odds to win the championship. So, did Woodwy is best on winning teams and this is a perfect situation for him where he gets to go to a winning team with a star player that he’s very, very familiar with. Now, the Knicks again, they have other guards. It’s not like they don’t, but they lost Malcolm Brogden, who was going to be their backup point guard and going to be their other floor general. Brogden put up 12.7 points per game last year, four rebounds and four assists, shooting 43% from the field and 28% from three, including 40% in the corner three, but he didn’t feel like he could hold up, so he ended up retiring. Now, on top of that, the Knicks do have Jordan Clarkson, who last year was excellent, putting up 16 points, three rebounds, four assists, shooting 41% from the field, and 36% from three. Clarkson is an excellent shot creator, and he’s a score first guy. If the Knicks do want to look for more of a floor general type, which is not exactly what Jordan Clarkson is, then what he makes a ton of sense. Now, not saying Clarkson cannot be the lead guard. I’ve said multiple times, I think Clarkson easily can be the lead guard. He’s an excellent ball handler. He can run an offense. He’s just more of a score first lead guard, which is fine. He put up 16 points per game. If he could do that with the Knicks, that’d be phenomenal. I know he’s been a little bit slow in the preseason, but preseason doesn’t really matter. Players aren’t great in preseason all the time, then go out and have excellent regular seasons. That’s not new. That’s not something that we haven’t seen before. Now, they also have Deuce. Deuce is absolutely awesome. We know Deuce is awesome. Deuce put up nine and a half points per game last year, two and a half rebounds and three assists. I see Deuce is kind of an Avery Bradley type player. Really a two guard who could fit in at the one if there’s like some point forwards on the squad or something, but really is a smaller two guard who plays excellent defense and punches above his weight quite well. Again, I do think the optimal comparison for Deuce McBride is literally Avery Bradley. So, when you see that, when you look back at Avery Bradley’s tenure, especially with Boston, you do see a lot of the same stuff. Deuce shooting 37% from three, 39% in the corner threes. Absolutely excellent player. So when we look at all that, we do see that Deuce could fit in at that backup point guard spot, but I like him and Clarkson a little bit more off the ball. They could do it, but adding Spencer Denwy does give a whole another layer to this team. One that would be very very welcomed for the Knicks. I mean, sleeper Knicks did not take long to mention it it that the Hornets recently waved, didn’t we? With Malcolm Brogden retired, it doesn’t make sense to go for Denwy. And we look at Denwy’s advanced numbers and they’re good. I mean, he finds himself a lot in like just when he’s on the ball, for instance, like he’s dominating the ball 29% of the time that he is on the court, he’s holding the ball. That’s in the 91st percentile. So, we know he can play the point guard position, which is really, really big here. I mean, he passes the ball really well. He does everything we do want to see out of a guy like that. I mean, he gets to the free throw line well. He his recovery isn’t great, but um at the same time it’s not the end of the world that his recovery percentage on defense isn’t great. Like obviously he’s not there for defensive purposes. He’s not the world’s worst defender, but he’s not a very great defender either, if that makes sense. So we consider that. We consider that there are moments where he’s inefficient, but at the same time, he is a valuable player. And his metrics match up quite well with Jordan Clarkson, who the Knicks signed. So you go out there, add Denwy, you get another nice bench player for this team. All of a sudden, your bench is right back to where it was. Now, on top of that, we are going to go into that that I just showed in a second, but we look at we look at Denwy. I think it’s an easy signing, guys. If you think the Knicks should sign Spencer Denwy, let me know in the comments down below because I think this is an easy yes. Obviously, if the Knicks do want to do that and bring in one of Shamad or Matthews, it’s the same thing where they’re going to have to trade one of Tyler Kick or Pomeier. So, that’s where the thing comes in. Are you willing to trade one of Kolic or Doier for Spencer Denwy? That’s the big question. So, let me know that down below. I have a feeling most people are going to say no. So, I’m interested in seeing the people who say yes. But also, if you say no, I want to see see your reason. On top of that, the Knicks made multiple moves over the last 24 hours as they went on a spree of signing and waving guys to fill out that Westchester Knicks team. Now, some of these guys regards, we’ve talked about Donovan Williams in the past on this channel. Williams is a very nice scoreer who can shoot the ball quite well, very aggressive attacker, very interesting player who the Knicks we will see with Westchester and could have a chance to steal a two-way contract at some point. The Knicks also got back summer league legend and Oklahoma City Thunder legend Isaiah Roby for their G-League team. Roy’s been around the Knicks and Leon Rose’s Knicks for a while now. They also signed and waved Romeo Langford. Langford’s a very interesting player because he was actually good with the Spurs his last time that he went out there. I mean, his shooting was never efficient, but very good defender, very athletic player, can play the one, could play the two, could play the three, put up 6.2 points per game with the Spurs in his final season in the NBA in the 2022 23 season before falling out of the league. Now, he did play a couple years in the G-League, mainly in the 23 24 season where we saw his shooting really jump up. He shot 37% from three, which was always the question with Romeo Langford. The man put up 10 points, three rebounds, three and a half rebounds, two assists, played quite well, good defense as usual, and again, shot 37% from three. He’s someone who I’m very interested in the Knicks taking a deep look at, and I am really excited to see what exactly happens with Romeo Langford going forwards. He is my favorite of all these little signings the Knicks made. I did want to add that in at the end just because I do think it is very interesting and it could be very important going forwards. Guys, I want to hear what you all think about the Den Woody idea. What do you think about the Knicks signing Romeo Langford as well? Let me know that in the comments down below. The Knicks will have to pay him more than $3 million. We don't have the cap room. He is a 10-year veteran. They have a minimum salary for a 10-year vet.
Go get victor Oladipo he’s playing pretty well over there… Tyler Kolich is nowhere near ready. He needs more development.
That guy hates us and has talked major shit 💩 about us no thanks
he also played with Bridges in BK, good chemistry move; but I don't want to trade Pacome
He’s not a Point Guard. He’s more so another Jordan Clarkson style shooting guard. Would rather Oladipo.
No to Dim Witless!
I really hope they don’t bring him to the Knicks.
Yes
They should without a doubt go get Dinwiddie. Asap. He is a good player. Go song him asap.
Oladipo misses more games than he plays. No way you sign him. Dinwiddie is perfect fit.
This is NOT fate. This is a trash take my man. Dinwiddie don't like us and we don't like him. My money is in Oladipo.
Dinwiddie and Victor can be good replacements for Bodgon
Dinwiddie is solid. They should sign him asap.
Makes sense! He played with both Bridges and Brunson! LGKs!
Naaas this dude was talking all that stuff about the Knicks bring back delon wright that’s it
Get Him he is the perfect back up for JB
0:11 I think Spencer Dinwiddie the player is a great fit, but according to CP Spencer, Dinwiddie, the person does not like the Knicks at all. Apparently he was talking shit I don’t really know what was sad, but I would definitely like him as our backup point guard.
Get Spencer Dinwiddie he's a New York player he's the best player the Knicks can get that's available and he can fill in at the 2 and 3 and be a in a pinch 4 as well as Point Guard for the Knicks
0:31 z bro I thought I was just getting pulled over
Dinwiddie is a KNICKS HATER and the feeling is mutual!
let's have some faith in our young guys. I love them and would hate for them to go.
The NY Knicks should be DESPERATE to sign a VET BU PG …. they can't go into 2025-26 with only one proven PG …. Jalen Brunson. The season is about to start, they can't afford another MISS like Brogdon….Kick all the tires & look under the hood before signing another "near retirement" Vet PG.
Dinwiddie is a known Knick hater. No thanks!!
He plays well in the garden
We have to put our feelings aside, this is the obvious choice. The Knicks are trying to win a Chip, and not trying to go on a date!! Lol LGK 😂💯💙
🔥🔥🔥
Dinwiddie is a better Alec Burkes
Please god no
didn't he have nothing nice to say about new york or their fans?
Yes to Dinwiddie.
Who are we kidding Tyler Kolich isn't ready to run a team
Id make the trade, with all the injuries around the league our window is now. The 2 kids wont help now as dinwiddie would
