Feel lucky to have watched that game from Ohtani, still in shock over it
It’s gonna be real depressing when the Dodgers beat Seattle in 4-5 games

I see a lot of people saying after last night that Ohtani’s value isn’t captured accurately by WAR.
this isn’t true in any meaningful way. WAR captures his value fine.
the takeaway from this isn’t that WAR is broken, it’s that you don’t need to look to WAR every time something impressive happens to justify how impressive it is
At least we beat the Cubs. Sigh, good season all in all
Let’s say the mariners win the ALCS, If they were to beat the dodgers in the World Series, that would be the biggest World Series upset since…?
Its not pretty when one team scores more runs than the other team has hits over the course of a series.
During the NLCS trophy presentation, the owner/president of the Dodgers was interviewed among others. I really liked that he started off his answer by praising the Brewers for their great season and even said that this week was just a bad week for them and does not reflect how they played all year. I thought that was very classy and honourable. And then he promptly forgot what the question was and never answered it lmao

As a Dodger fan each game was stressful these past two series with Ohtani not hitting well
I literally said if he starts hitting like he did last playoffs along with how our pitching has been we are going to mow every team down.
Hopefully he carries that for the WS cause that was a pure masterclass
Genuinely, sorry about your loss Brewcrew. Losing in the playoffs of any sport as a fan sucks. You deserve your day to mourn.
I’m still too in awe of Ohtani to say anything about the LA payroll or how the Brewers forgot how to hit.
Whoever wins the ALCS will have a shot to beat the Dodgers since its baseball. (And the Dodgers offense still hasnt been that great yet).
However, its going to be harder for those teams considering they both only have 1 LHP reliever that they can use and they trust (Speier and Fluharty).
Part of why the Phillies did so well vs Ohtani batting wise was their LHP they can deploy in a series.
At this point we’re all thinking what’s next. He just keep doing amazing things
Money discrepancies aside I wouldn’t be surprised to see a rematch next year in the playoffs. The Dodgers are the Dodgers but Milwaukee has proven they are a consistent winning franchise.
Feels like we’re witnessing peak baseball right now, at least the peak of anytime in the last 20 years. Between Ohtani, Vladdy, Cal & the Mariners run – we have multiple superstars still in it and having huge games. Even before they got eliminated, Judge and Schwarber had big moments for their teams. Like it or not stars drive interest in sports and it’s great to see this crop delivering for their teams and bringing in fans.
I didn’t think it was possible to top the 50/50 game against the Marlins last year
What am I supposed to do, print a screenshot of my SeatGeek receipt to frame?
Sorry Brew Crew, I was rooting for you guys to end your drought. The Dodgers pitching was just otherwardly and Ohtani put on a fucking show last night. What an unreal performance.
The only hope here is that a non competitive CS and then extra days off lull the dodgers into a sense of complacency that a battle tested AL team riding momentum can overcome, because other LA looks unbeatable
Ohtani is the greatest player of all time and he’s supported by one of the most elite rosters in the game. Can’t even be that disappointed in the Brewers. They got every ounce out of this team this year. They just don’t have the guns to beat a team like the Dodgers when they’re playing well in the post-season. Great season – let’s do it again next year, Crew! 🍻👨🏻💙
For the Ruth vs Ohtani debate:
>[Folks there were only 2 years Ruth pitched regularly AND played the field (1918-19). Pre-1918 he was a pitcher with 100-150 plate appearances. Post-1919 he was only a field player. So no, Ohtani doesn’t need to play a field position AND pitch to prove anything. He’s already done unprecedented stuff.](https://bsky.app/profile/mcopelov.bsky.social/post/3m3gzw7vatc26)
Anyone else feel Snell should have got NLCS MVP. Shutting down a hungry Brewers team in game 1 I think was much more impactful to the series than Ohtani pounding it down to a brewers team everyone knew had no chance to advance at that point.
Championship probability added supports this too: snell added 9.8% cWPA vs only 2.3% for Ohtani.
SP rotation was absolutely filthy this series.
Time to dust off this old 8-bit OC?

One step closer to my dream of a Dodgers vs. Mariners world series.
What was Ohtanis game score? Surely it’s by far the best game ever played right, reg or post season?
I’m now worried the Etsy witch used a monkey’s paw because the path to glory is through a red hot Shohei Ohtani
And that’s a win for the Cubs
Dodgers are 9-1 but the regular season and previous woes still don’t let me be at peace.
I propose that a 3HR, 3RBI stat line forever be called an Ohtani.
Dodgers have the most money but they also scout better, draft better, better front office, better culture, better everything. Probably the best run sports franchise of all time
Ohtani was phenomenal, if it would’ve been in a baseball movie we’d all think it was unrealistic, lame etc. It was just amazing
That being said, if the Brewers would’ve taken the W yesterday, who would’ve been scheduled to pitch for us today? 🤔
Oh my goodness
It’s absolutely a testament to Ohtani that I’m seeing people call this the greatest game ever played and my gut response is “eh, he can do better.” He makes the impossible banal.
