High IQ play by Tee Higgins wins the game | Cincinnati Bengals Vs Pittsburgh Steelers

Okay, we saw quite the ending to the Cincinnati Bengals Pittsburgh Steelers game. So, let’s pause it right here just to set the stage. The Bengals, who were big underdogs entering the night, find themselves down just a single point against the Pittsburgh Steelers. T. Higgins has caughten a pass to put him inside the 15. And if we’re being honest, he can run into the end zone for a touchdown if he wants to right here. However, for Higgins, he is going to do something really smart here, which is the Steelers only have two timeouts. If they burn one after this, the Bengals are going to get another first down, meaning the Steelers can burn their last time out and then you get two plays where you can burn an extra 40 seconds. Essentially, you can’t kill the entire clock, but you can kill almost the entire clock if you just go down here. So, that’s what Higgins decides to do to have the awareness to know I just got to get down and set up a field goal. Well, that’s what he does. Of course, there is a drawback to this plan, right? Which is you have to make the field goal. If you just run in, it’s an 100% chance that you take the lead. If you put yourself in this situation, it is less than 100% chance. Of course, just the math behind it, it’s still the correct decision, right? Because there’s a much higher likelihood of Aaron Rogers being able to score and retake the lead of a minute and a half left. Uh even or, you know, maybe get the two-point conversion, but then it would still be a tie, right? Like there’s a higher odds of you winning if you uh have it come down to the field goal. But of course, you have to make the field goal. McFersonson does in fact drill the field goal to put them up three points with seven seconds left. Um the P the not the Packers uh that’s two teams ago. The Steelers find themselves in a situation where they have the ball at the 40 cuz again you have the new uh situation where because of the new kickoff rules, you kind of still have a chance in this scenario in a way usually you wouldn’t. Roger’s going to have to go for a Hail Mary. Watch him take the snap. I’m going to pause it when he’s getting ready to throw it because you see he’s going to end up at his own 30 yard line. So, he needs to get this ball 70 yards down the field. I watching this live, I’m like, he has to get closer to the line of scrimmage. He he isn’t close enough right now. However, look at this throw. He actually does get it into the end zone, but Cincinnati defends it well. It is not a you, you know, another one to add on to the list for Aaron Rogers. That would have been his best Hail Mary of his career, and that’s saying something had he converted. But the smart decision by T. Higgins works out. And hey, sometimes it’s uh better to play situational football than score a touchdown. And given the fact they’re two and four, the fact that you still have players uh willing to do something like this, you just have to give a ton of credit to T. Higgins and to Zack Taylor for coaching this team well. So yeah, really smart job by the Bengals to pull off the upset.

  1. Pretty sure the coach told the whole team to go down to keep the clock moving. It's not like it was a split second decision. He was just following the coaches instruction.

  2. All I can say is, I would have laughed my butt off had the FG missed, as the Bengals BACKED UP 12 YARDS during the next 3 plays. Imagine if the FG hit the post, lol

  3. How bad are the Browns?
They have scored 82 points in 6 games. Most of those with Flacco. Then he scores 33 in one game. The Browns are absolutely terrible from the owner down.

  4. there were at least several huge plays that could be called ‘play of the game’ but Tee Higgins not scoring so more time could be ran off was the dagger for Arrogant Rodgers to lose, therefore making it the play of the game…wtg Bengals!

  5. The ESPN "experts" went crazy today; blaming the Steelers defense for losing the game. They all picked Pittsburgh, and the outcome made them look bad.

  6. If you give Rodgers the ball back with over a minute left, he will definitely answer with a TD of his own, the way he was torching the Bengals defense all night long.

  7. Here's my hail mary hack: practice by having two or three receivers surround the ball's landing area so they can catch the tipped or batted ball. (Instead of three or four receivers jumping at the same time, which hardly ever works.) Another idea: If you have a receiver who is 6-5 or taller or can jump through the roof, have him be the designated 'tip man' and have him tip it to his 'open' teammate in the end zone. And how 'bout that throw by Rogers! I measured it at about 70 yards.

  8. Credit to Higgins, but since a pass was called in the first place, isn't it possible that a completed pass with a slide was also predesigned by Flacco, the Coach, or the OC?

  9. I thought that the Steelers should have downed the ball short of the goal on their previous possession because it left too much time for Cinci. Then the Steelers have 4 plays to get it in the end zone and burn clock.

  10. It's stupid that we call this "High IQ." It's common sense. It's also situational which is discussed prior to the drive and the play.

Are people so fucking dumb that we have to act like this is some sort of next level genius?….

  11. I understand the reason for what he did but I like taking the guaranteed points. It also shows no trust in your defense and puts a ton of pressure on your kicker

  12. Touchdown and 2 point conversion was the smart play. Guaranteed points now are always better than “maybe” points on the next play. No way you trust kickers these days. Too many missed/blocked fields goals and extra points.
