I know I am old AF, but I have so many memories from the old Boston Garden that I still think of TD Garden (Shawmut Center, Fleet Center) as brand new.
The first time I walked in a saw all the banners the 1986 one hadn't been won yet, and the Bruins had in insane number "Division Champion" banners trying to keep up with the Celtics side of the rafters. I remember having to watch the other basket on the crappy TV because my seat couldn't see the full court at Reggie Lewis's final game. I managed once to get front row balcony for a Bruins game it felt like you were over the ice. It was a dump, but it was OUR dump.
Getting old is weird. Feel free to completely ignore this old man nostalgia post.

Remember when the fleet center naming rights went away and you could pay a certain amount of money and have the naming rights?
It’s really profitable to build new stadiums and have the public pay for the entire thing.
Because it opened 30 years ago and if you’re like me and remember vividly when it happened, you’re old.
I’ve never been, only been to the old Garden in the 80s, and you think you’re old
I mean, it’s felt old since it was built. Feels like the last of the old style arena / stadium. Everything got fun after it.
