Remember this? This was a low point of low points

  1. 2004 was the actual lowest point. That team gets forgotten bc they won 2 games (0 in regulation tho) and was genuinely one of the worst teams of all time.

Id also argue the 2015 offseason was an all time low point.

  2. I was at that Sunday night game game vs PHI. The Carr chants were sort of a low point for the fan base. Especially considering Alex should have led us to the SB the following season minus a certain punt returner.

  3. Maybe each fan has their own version of the low point. To me, it was about as low as however low Mike Singletary’s pants got….

  4. I honestly have no recollection of this. Hopefully I was passed out drunk.

For me it was when they benched Alex Smith for JT O’Turnover.

  5. I remember my friends telling me that it’s embarrassing wearing the gear on the Nolan Kelly and tomsula years but never bothered me one bit when I went to wild wings

  6. It was a low point but it was the culmination of years of built up frustration. Obviously in hindsight it was clearly bad coaching, not Alex’s fault. But from an observers point of view at the time it always looked like Alex’s flailing was what was holding the team back.

  7. I was just thinking about this game last week! KNBR had a topic about former team members you always root for. Alex Smith was the first one I thought of. Put into a terrible situation. Treated like trash by the organization and fans. Always handled it with class.

  8. I remember being at that game where the crowd was aggressively chanting that. I remember looking at those fools and saying you people have no clue what you’re asking for. lol

  9. This was embarrassing for so many reasons. 2009 ended with so much positive momentum.. then we opened 0-5 in 2010. And this was the first game on NBC’s Sunday night football (took 4+ seasons to be featured on there). Also the SF giants were in the middle of a run that culminated in a World Series title. It was just frustrating on so many levels.

However, I’d argue 1999 after young’s concussion was the low point. The whole NFL world reveled in our downfall from the dynasty run of 1981-1998.

  10. lol I went to that game, it was Monday night game. Haha I was one of the
Tools that chanted too haha, tbf though I was only 18!

  11. This was the moment that I finally and permanently wrote off the 49ers fanbase. The moronic takes that come from these fans drive me crazy.

  12. I was at that game and it was the most embarrassing moment of our fan base at the time.. 😭😭😭
