  1. Oh man that’s horrible. I’ll always remember how hyped I was about him. Way, way too young. DEP.

  2. Fuck. that is terrible. People that drive under the influence should get immediate life sentences. 35 year old young man with a family. RIP

  3. That’s awful. He was so young. I thought the world of him as a prospect and hated when they traded him.

  4. Wow, awfully sad news!!! We still refer to him as “Jesus of Scranton” in our house….such a big prospect.

  5. So sad. RIP.

Always thought his career could’ve been different if we didn’t trade him and he stayed here in NY. He had real pop in that bat.

  6. Man, that’s awful. I remember being so insanely hyped on his as a prospect. I found his baseball card in a shop one time and bought it, hoping it would be cool to have a minor league card of the next big star. Alas.

    RIP, Jesus.

  7. I liked Montero and watched him play a few games in AAA. 35 is too young with 2 children. RIP

  8. I have some awesome pictures of him when he was at Scranton. I’ll have to see if I could find them. RIP

If I remember correctly he was warming up Phil Hughes pre-game.

  9. Holy fucking shit. This is so sad. I remember a lot of people thought his swing was similar to a young Miguel Cabrera.

  10. I remember being at the game when he hit his first two career homers and we won 11-10 I think. Stadium was absolutely rocking. RIP.
