As an avid collector since Ovi’s early years I felt the need to chime in. Numerous posts have been naysaying the quality of the new 3rd jerseys. I want the fanbase of this team to grow and a lot of people are excited about this jersey so I decided to go side by side with a CCM Ovi rookie jersey because who could ask for a better quality standard to compare? The patch quality is fantastic for both shoulders and eagle. Now nameplate? Obviously the 2005 clears. That layered, oversized look was great but even the ‘07 rebrands didn’t try to replicate that. As far as the “heaviness” I think it’s overblown. With my unofficial pinch test you see the material thickness was identical. Take a look for yourselves but I think fanatics is making an honest effort. Where they fall short is the fit. A size 48 back then is a size 56 now from my opinion. Let the pictures speak for themselves and if you have any questions ask me 😊

The CCM was made in Canada. It’s an entirely different jersey and it’s unfair to compare against the Asian made fan wear that Nike/adidas/fanatics puts out.
If you want a closer comparison get the one that’s $400 and is worn on ice.
Edit: Also- Ovi never wore CCM, that’s an older blank that was customized and is not from 2005. His rookie year they wore Reebok 6100s, then 7187s in the rock the red era.
Great word
Slightly off topic. Call me crazy, but I think the red version of the Dome logo from the shoulders on the new third jerseys would look great as a primary logo.
The quality is fine. I don’t know what all these complaints are about today..
These premiers are actually pretty well-made, more so than when fanatics first took over for the standard home jersey (breakaways are still trash). I do however feel that the reverse retros for whatever reason (Adidas included) fit just a tad smaller than the home and away jerseys.
They both look fine, I promise you nobody is closely looking at the quality of your jersey. I do however have a problem with the cost. But that can be said about everything we buy these days.
