I was curious to know who everyone's favourite enforcer is? I know a lot of the classic enforcers (i.e., Dave Semenko, Chris Nilan, Bob Probert), but I'm a hockey fan from the U.K. and although we have fighting in our leagues we never really had enforcers from what I remember going to games. My personal favourites from the NHL are Joey Kocur and Tie Domi, but are there any enforcers throughout the years that may have gone overlooked, are "underrated" or are fan favourites still to this day? Thank you! 🙂

  1. Doug Glatt 😂 (but really OG would be George Laraque, current would be The Sheriff Arber Xhekaj)

  2. Mr. Devil himself, Ken Daneyko.

Not a pure fighter, more of a general figure of menace on the ice, but that’s my boy right there.

  3. Being a Senators fan, I would have to say Chris Neil. While he certainly had a talent for fisticuffs and did rack up a ton of penalty minutes over the course of his career, he was a more than just an enforcer for the Senators. So much so that the team retired his jersey in 2023. I was at that game. It was an honour he totally deserved.

  4. There’s Dave Schultz and then there’s everyone else. 472 penalty minutes in a season is a record that will never be broken. And he’s still beloved here.

  5. Talking about topless fighting, Rob Ray was a classic. We all called him “naked man”. Lol.

  6. Wendel Clark!

    Kelvington Sask!

Tough son of a bitch. With soft hands that could turn to stone when needed!

  7. Definitely the boogeyman. So sad what happened to him. On a lighter note though, the boogeyman has to be an all time nickname

  8. Gordie Howe. Anyone can get in a fight but few get a goal, assist and annihilate a guy in the same game. Geordie was not only massively talented, but was also as mean and tough as they came.
