Albert Pujols reportedly won’t be Angels manager, but two teams are still in pursuit of future Hall of Famer

  1. It would have been a little crazy if he managed the player he played with for 10 years

  2. I guess he wasn’t actually Moreno’s top choice, if Moreno wasn’t prepared to dialogue more.

  3. I will always think that hiring former players with zero managerial experience is dumb. I’d rather have a guy with zero MLB experience and 10 years as a coach and manager in the minors or as a coach in the majors than hire Albert. And this is as a huge Cardinals fan who still has my signed 2004 Pujols jersey up in my house.

  4. Look Pujols is a great guy and great player. But I just don’t think it’s a good idea to hire him as manager. Great players don’t tend to do well as coaches. It’s like when Ted Williams got hired to manage the rangers.

  5. If Pujols wants to manage I’m not sure why Oliver Marmol even has a job.

Cardinals should be jumping at the chance just to sell more #5 jerseys.
