Current odds for the Titans next head coach. How would you rank them and why?

  1. It’s the Chad Brinker/Packers, Borganzi/JohnDorsey and Reggie Mackenzie/Packers connections that have me thinking McCarthy. Arthur’s connections to Tennessee and the Titans have him as my #2 as well.

  2. For me:

    1. Monken, I know there’s a lot of discussion about offensive OCs that are riding on their QBs coattails but I don’t really think that’s the case here, Monken helped Lamar take the next step and earn his second MVP, before that he won two Natty’s with Stetson Bennett. He’s been coaching forever and is a true been everywhere seen everything offensive mind.

    2. Saleh, I just don’t blame him for any of the jets dysfunction and I believe he’s a good leader and quality DC.

    3. McCarthy, if you want an experienced stabilizing force this is probably the guy. I don’t love him but it’s hard to argue with a guy who wins this much.

    4. Arthur Smith, firmly in the good OC tier even if I don’t really think our roster is constructed in a way to maximize his talents

    5. Kiff, I think his offense was always kinda boring with the Cardinals but I’d be interested to see it depending on how the year goes for him with the commies

    6. Joe Brady, man whenever I’m watching Bills games I think “man Josh Allen is great” and never “wow great play call” or “wow everybody’s open.” He may be the offensive mastermind they’re calling him but I don’t really see it.

    7. Flores, great DC but seems like an asshole. I don’t love the idea of a guy that the players revolted on after going 9-8.

    8. Nagy. Man, if we go with another OC who doesn’t call plays immediately after going down the same exact route we deserve to lose.

    9. Mike McCoy.

tier drop after 3 and 6 imo

  3. If I was going to bet on it i’d probably guess Mike McCarthy supposing we were looking for someone to right the ship. Could also take a shot on Kliff.

If we go Arthur Smith I’ll have to tap out of this franchise for a few years… ain’t no way.

  4. My favorites from this list are Kliff Kingsbury, Mike mccarthy, brain flores, Robert saleh. My only worry with the two DCs are what all dc head coaches struggle with. will they insist the offense helps out the defense. Which usually means bad offenses.

  5. For some reason I think Robert Saleh is the guy to build back up our culture and get us back to respectability. Aaron Rodgers and ownership completely railroaded a pretty interesting Jets rebuild a few years back.

The names I see on here I’d detest are Arthur Smith, Kliff Kingsbury, Mike McCoy, Joe Brady. Smith’s tenure in Atlanta was a disaster, and his personality doesn’t fit what you’re looking for in a HC. Kingsbury’s failed spectacularly in every stop as a HC, seems like a great coordinator who shouldn’t rise above that. Unless Joe Brady can bring Josh Allen, no thanks. Seems Bills fans are ready to be rid of him. McCoy would be the cheap hire and an uninspiring one.

Nagy, Monken, and Flores I’m open to, though Nagy seems like a jerk.

Mike McCarthy would have been a great hire 15-20 years ago, but he’s in his 60s now and the Cowboys had no interest in retaining him. Always seen as a guy who was carried by his best players more than elevating them. Would be a really uninspiring hire.

  6. Reminder that Kliff Kingsbury has been a head coach for 10 seasons. He has only had a winning record in 3 of them.

  7. This is all wrong. Not near enough “Mike’s” on this list. It will be one of:

    Mike McDaniel

    Mike McCoy (promotion)

    Mike McCarthy

    Mike LaFluer

    Mike Tomlin

    Mike Vrabel (retread)

    Mike McDonald

    Mike Pettine

    Mike Norvel

    Mike Gundy

    Mike Elko

  8. Give me Saleh as Head Coach/Defensive lead and the soon to be fired McDaniel as OC with him.

  9. I can’t stand the betting on everything/anything. I’m thankful it’s the one thing I never got into.

  10. I’ve honestly been thinking Matt Nagy was Adam Gase the whole time. Even knowing now, not sure how much I want the guy who’s held Andy Reid’s clipboard. We all saw how the last Chiefs OC-turned-HC went

  11. I can see it being McCarthy, he’s like the exact opposite of the Callahan hire and is the safest option of the bunch. You know what you’re getting with him at the helm and that may be exactly what this team needs right now. Some stability and an actual adult in the room.

  12. McCarthy (maybe monken) is really the only option that would have me confident going into next season. Everyone else is just too risky to me

  13. The issue with McCarthy is that offenses regress under him. How much lower can we go

  14. McCarthy would be a guarantee that the team will be better than 3-14 after two years. We are looking for a high floor before a high ceiling. Eric Morris at OC would be wonderful, too.

  15. Underwhelming list to me. Selah would be my pick from that list. The Jets have been much worse since firing him. He’s doing a great job with the SF defense while missing their top 2 defenders.

Edit: no way McDaniel survives in Miami. Selah HC with McDaniel OC sounds promising.
