Houston Texans Vs Seattle Seahawks FULL GAME HIGHLIGHTS | NFL WEEK 7 Oct 20, 2025 | NFL HIGHLIGHTS

The stand’s ready to party. Just a tremendous atmosphere tonight. And the kickoff to Dariq Young who takes it and finds some room. He dropped just short of home in Minnesota. Now his new home in Seattle. He is playing the best football of his career. Brady Russell back lined up in front of Kenneth Walker III who’s celebrating his 25th birthday tonight. gets the first carry and gets just a couple off the left side. Henry Atoa there on the stop. Seattle offense with Clint Kubak calling the plays. Talked about Smith and Jigma Cooper Cup has been a revelation. He’s been so viable, Darnold says, as a leader and his deep understanding of coverage is important. They’ll use the tight ends a lot and the offensive line up against it against Will Anderson and Denil Hunter, the elite pass rushers that the Texans bring. Second and eight, fire. Ball out quickly as it will often be tonight. Smith and Jigba there, but two wide and it’s third and long. You already see it. The Houston pass rush really getting some push on the interior. I think that’s the thing when you have a quarterback who gets the ball out. so quickly. Typically, you don’t have a lot of time for the defensive ends to get get there. Although, you see defensive coordinator Matt Burke there on your screen. It’s really going to be about inside out pressure here. Now, they got a third and long situation. This is the kind of situation, Dan, you just don’t want to be in against this defense. They can play tight coverage and they really get after it up front. Stingley and Kamari Lass are as good a tanm as you’ll see. Zack Charbanet is the back on this third and eight. They bring pressure. Darnold gets it out and getting stopped just short of the marker is AJ Barner. Jaylen Petri made the stop and the early decision here. It’s going to be fourth and one at the 38. Yeah, this is a football team that typically doesn’t go for it on fourth down. They have a very low percentage in terms of wanting to go for tackle. This is the right decision by Mike McDonald. Yay. Michael Dixon, highest paid punter in the NFL. It’s a high boot. Braxton Berios waves for a fair catch and then lets it bounce and it’s going to be down inside the 5 yd line. So the decision to punt looks pretty good as they pin the Texans back. Smile from Dixon there. So here comes CJ Strad. So much on his shoulders. No Joe Mixon. Nick Chub hope he can get the run game going. Looking for targets like Nico Collins tonight. And this is a guy who really over the past couple of weeks and the last time they were out on the field against the Baltimore Ravens, he really did look comfortable. Look, when he has got time and he can survey the field, this guy has a ton of mental horsepower. He’s got a as smooth of an operation as you’ll see among the elite quarterbacks in the NFL. And make no mistake about it, he believes he is elite and he’s planning on showing that tonight. He does. Nearperfect QBR in that win over the depleted Ravens team. Much tougher task tonight. Stra lining up in the end zone. And here comes the noise. And up inside to Nick Chub, eighth year man, four-time Pro Bowler, plows ahead for five. A play like that. New offensive coordinator Nick Kayley stressing they got to be diverse offensively tonight. You see it with Nick Chub and a a run. Lou, can they be good to get to second and seven, second and eight, try to create some favorable situations? Ask these guys up front because a lot of it lies with them. It helped them. No question. But you know what? This is a win already for them, right, Chris? I mean, they’re they’re sitting in second and five. That’s the key to the game for them. Got to stay out of those long down distance situations. Stra rolls and throws on a one-handed grab made by Schultz. And the tight end has a first down out across the 25. This is a nice job. You you get an efficient run on first down and then you line up with your two tight ends at the line of scrimmage above the credible threat of running the football. You see how it helps. Straoud more than 70% completion rate so far. He’d take that tonight. It’s going to be tougher against this defense. That’s Drake Thomas the linebacker in coverage there. See this center this defense here which is so so tough up front. Leonard Williams playing having a monster year. The former Trojan. They’ve just got so many interchangeable parts up front. I mean, Leonard Williams can move from a three technique rushing outside chain of the guard to a nine outside the tackle. He’s just so diverse. And Byron Murphy having a great year. Demarcus Lawrence comes over from the Dallas Cowboys. Looks like a stud. Boy, a mockey. They got dudes, man, everywhere. Coming up a monster game against the Jaguars. Hand off inside. Swallowed up. That’s Drake Thomas again making the play. He’ll lose three. Yeah, and you can see Seattle, they slant. They bring the backside pressure and in that the defensive line is slanting right into that run. And this is with all these bodies up in the line of scrimmage. Third and 13. Could be a nightmare against his crew. Shroud is back paddling. He’ll be dropped. They’re going to spot it outside the end zone. They’re going to talk about it. Doso got there and it’s just outside in the field of play. Looks like it’s going to be about a foot out, but Straoud very nearly trapped. This is a rules expert. They ruled it. No safety. And then here comes the challenge flag. Yeah. And now, go ahead, Mike. Yeah. Try to get Mike’s mic on. Oh, there we go. This is a great challenge because that first contact is just outside. Just outside. They’re not going to let them challenge this now. They’ve talked him talked to the coach about this. There won’t be a challenge. That’s a judgment call. You can see dragging him back by the leg. So, it’s not where the knee goes down. It’s the first contact. Tommy Townsen in a very short punt formation. Tory Horton, dangerous returner standing in midfield. It’s a low snap. Townson does a good job to get the boot away which drives back to the 45 yd line and makes a cut and falls forward. 55 yd punt 11 on the return and Darnold and the Seahawks second possession in plus territory. Scoreless early going here. [Music] Why wasn’t he allowed to challenge that and and see where the ball was when he we’re you know the ball in relation to the goal line this situation progress once it’s ruled we can rule where the ball is. I’m not sure exactly why they didn’t allow them to challenge that one unless they just told him it was so far out. Had they gone the replay? Are you convinced the call was corrected the ball was outside the end zone when contact was first made? I don’t know that I see that. Man, if I am a Seattle fan, that one doesn’t sit well with me. Thought there was an early safety signal there, but uh in any case, Seattle takes over at the 44. Walker quick burst. He plows forward for about five. Kamari laughs at her off the corner to make the stop. One of the things I love about this offense in Seattle with Clint Kubak is how they play with their multiple tight ends. AJ Barner second year and Elijah Aoyo their first year. They’ll put Sam Darnold underneath the center and the diversity in their run game that time. Double tight ends duo which you get double teams. We’re just trying to get three or four yards, get the run started. It’s exactly who they are at times offensively. Third offensive coordinator in three years is Clint Kubak. very familiar with Darnold who looks to take a downfield shot and wide open gets made and run out of bounds is Aoyo that rookie tight end from Miami who is a downfield threat the quarterback receiver duo of Sam Darnold and JSN have become one of the best in the NFL Sam Darnold the journey he’s so much more comfortable in himself and then JSN is strong he’s sudden at times it feels like he is uncoverable that duo with a fantastic defense makes this a team in in the NFC that’s going to be very difficult to beat. Yeah, how about that? Big play offense and guess what they get to go up against tonight? Big play defense. Chris mentioned the fact that I’m excited. You have to be excited about this defense. It has the potential to be legendary in Houston. They have got pass rushers galore up front and they have got studs and absolute hunters in the back end. You start up front with Will Anderson Jr. and Denil Hunter. Will Anderson’s one of the best pass rushers and run setters in the NFL. Denil Hunter 16 sacks over the past two seasons in the back end. Folks, I am just telling you, Derek Stingley Jr. is one of one. This guy is put together like Saquon Barkley playing corner. It’s just unbelievable to look at. And Kamari Lacer, he is no slouch whatsoever. This will be a titanic battle offense versus defense. They look impressive on safe. They look really impressive in person on the field. CJ Strad doesn’t often have to produce too much to get wins. It’s a challenge. The protection’s been really an issue for for Houston. Can they hold up tonight? Yeah, it’s going to really be about CJ’s leadership. There’s a lot of other things X and O wise that we’ll get into as far as the things he’s going to have to really deal with, but primarily it’s about his leadership, keeping his cool as chaos inevitably breaks out around him because it always does in NFL games, right Dan? So for him it’s about breaking in the young wide receiver core, playing the game efficiently and on time and making sure that they win the turnover battle. It feels like he and they and Houston are kind of searching for 2023 again. And Lewis mentioned new pieces on the perimeter, an offensive line that they’re patching together, and the second offense in two
