  1. It depends on the asking price.

You pay him big time money you're well on your way to being Miami 2.0 (not good). Bad team made worse by a major contract going to a QB that needs big time help.

If he and his agent are honest about the talent level he brings and would accept significantly less, then it's possible.

  2. They would be foolish to give bryce a new contract it's not fair or smart to pay him off what rico or what the defense does to generate wins he can't put the team on his back and be competitive let alone win they should give him the cheapest deal possible and put more on his plate to carry the team I honestly don't think he can tho

  3. I think alot of the reason behind Bryce’s slow start was the issue at # 2 reciever , when we traded Thelian and Coker went down it hurt because they was so dependable,Bryce had a great chemistry with those two guys . I don’t believe Leggett is the guy . But I do believe Bryce will exploded in the pass game when Coker comes back healthy and we start send Jimmy Horn Jr. deep and off the play action.

  4. Oh heck NO! Ask yourself how much would another team pay him? If any other team would pay him at all! You are nothing but a fanboy! Would you really pay him NFL qb1 money if you were writing the check? He may have moved up from #30 to #26 in the league but that means we should be in the qb 1 market! Thank goodness Zglennon speaks truth!

  5. Wtf they didn’t win that game because of Bryce who TF is this dude? He had 3 TD’s in this game Bryce had a HUGE part in winning this game along with Rico

  6. He has shown zero consistency in 35 games as a starter, 6yards per attempt average, (31st in the league) just as many turnovers as touchdowns, and has only won games we have rushed well over a hundred yards. That last bit is the most damning bit.

Only 7 games he's thrown over 200 yards, only 2 of those have been wins. So far he's only managed games he's won, and that's ok at times, but a game manager isn't gonna take you deep into the playoffs or win a SB. Let's not forget miami & dallas aren't great teams at the moment. If he can lead us to wins against the Bucs, Bills, Eagles, (where Rico doesn't run for 200, and the game is soley on his shoulders) that would go a long way to shut me up at least. As things stand currently, he's not 20M plus QB.

  7. It would benefit Carolina Panthers if they traded Bryce to Walmart. Walmart's pay scale better matches Bryce's abilities and skill set. He isn't cut out to be in the NFL.

  8. "If" they keep him long term, pay him the same as Baker and Sam. $100mil so they can actually keep a decent team around him and they dont end up like Miami with Tua. They traded/released 1 key OL and 5 key defenders to be able to afford his new salary after the 2023 playoff loss. And why aren't they winning now? Defense and OL. Bryce is not worth $260mil.

  9. It depends how cheap he is. If he wants top 15 qb money I say you don’t pay him you keep him on his 5th year option and if he proves he’s worth it you pay him or franchise tag him or let him leave if his inconsistencies continues. Bryce hasn’t proven that he’s worth getting a top qb contract.

  10. I think money for QB 'S is going to decline. What Mayfield and Darnold and Purdy show it is more about the team and the coaching than the QB. Weak teams cant afford $50m because of the cap they have no other players the TEAM will fail. Look at Dallas Jones aint paying a LB $50m. As for Young they are losing money. Young show improvement because the TEAM ran for over 400 yrds the last two games and got 111 against Atlanta ?

  11. If we price him according to his QBR at the end of the season we might be able to get him on a low deal as a backup quarterback. The issue with having a short backup quarterback and going after a prototypical quarterback next is that they won't share the same playbook and if they do one of them will be operating way out of their comfort zone. He's a good guy and he's playable in a pinch but I don't see any big long term success with his limitations. He has small flashes that are positive but the same exact flashes in a negative way. I still think about the non-contact fumble too and have to ask myself if that's the guy you want holding the ball every snap for you. He's obviously not a bad quarterback, he's won all his life.. but in the NFL you play against teams of the best players on earth. To me he's just not a top 30 quarterback in the world, and if we're looking for upside there really isn't a whole lot. If we pay Bryce a large contract we'll just delay our rebuild even longer – but it's been a decade now so whats a few more years?

  12. I think its sports in general when you're paying players 40-50 million dollars a year that teams aren't gonna win a lot of games because of the cap space and luxury tax. Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady earned their contracts but they didnt like went out saying oh if you dont pay me this and this then I dont want to be here. They actually structured their contracts to bring in guys who would or will help the team win championships. Bryce isnt worth what Patrick Mahomes is valued at like at all. I think Bryce is not gonna be on this team next year because they definitely need a QB who will the Carolina Panthers games at home and on the road. Its so bad because this era of football is defined by offense and throwing over 4,000-5,000 yards a season. This is the passing era league. If you cant throw over 200 yards per game then theres something wrong with you within your game as a QB.

  13. Picking up his 5th year option means about 30mil guaranteed for two years. Just something else to consider – he doesn’t stay on the rookie deal like ppl think.

  14. Not sure that BY and Canales mix well. BY wants to be in shotgun and spread the field but this offense works 10x better under center, 12 personnel with play action.

  15. Top QB's are getting paid $60+ million, and will be getting $70 million when Bryces contract is up for renewal. Bryce on a $40 million/year deal sounds fair provided he keeps the positive momentum this year.

  16. We have our QB so it's time to build around him and focus on the defense. Pay him now so we can avoid the next market hike. We will be a 8 to 11 win team this year. All we have to do is beat Tampa 1 time and we should be able to lock up a wildcard.

    Jets W
    Bills W
    Packers W
    Saints W
    Falcons W
    49ers L
    Rams L
    Saints W
    Buccaneers W
    Seahawks W
    Buccaneers L

    Possible 11-7

We may can beat either the 49ers or Seahawks

The way the Bills are playing, it's a coin toss

We shut out the Packers run game and force Love to throw, there's a W.

  17. Bryce Young is simply not a franchise QB. We have enough tape at this point to know. The Panthers should not, under any circumstance, give him a big contract extension. If anything, they should try to sell high on him and start over – or find another QB in free agency.

  18. Let him go I say. Paying a QB that averages 3-4 yards per completion is nonsense. He's a nice guy but we need a big QB with a deep ball arm and strong legs.

  19. NFL teams need to start paying quarterbacks based on their performance level, not based on the position. Bryce Young is not worth signing for one-third of a team's salary cap just because he is Carolina's starting quarterback.

Currently, Young is a below-average NFL quarterback who needs a lot of moving parts to be effective. Carolina should sign Young to a short-term deal with reasonable incentives based on progress. If he outperforms his deal, then Carolina always can extend or rewrite the contract.
