  1. Imagine anybody from this Leafs core having a moment like George’s HR tonight. You can’t do it.

  2. Leafs were one game away from winning two rounds last year, what the Blue Jays just did.

  3. This current Jays team had lots of playoff chokes and failures until this year. They even missed the playoffs by a lot last year. Just takes one good run for everything to change.

  4. The Jays are a team that’s managed to thrive as a sum of their parts, not by relying on part of their roster.

  5. I’m both a Jays and a Leafs fan. Looking at the superstars of the two teams, Vladdy isn’t Auston Matthews, and sadly, I mean that as a compliment to Vladdy.

I feel like the Leafs have tried to plug in “glue / grit”guys into the lineup before, but it starts with the superstars.

  6. This Jays team is the epitome of a team that is greater than the sum of its parts.

The Leafs for the past 9+ years have always been a team that is less than the sum of its parts and always disappoints and leaves fans pissed off and disillusioned

  7. Their best players have stepped up their game, when it matters most. Their entire roster competes to their highest ability every night and play the game the right way. No lazy/entitled players

  8. And as die hard Jays/Leafs fan… the Jays a year ago had people screaming go Leafs go. Looking bleaker than anything then we went into this season with even worse projections. Welcome to pro sports people when you’re good remember what it means to be good… lofty expectations.

There are no guarantees. Ask the Cubs. When it happens it just fucking does as long as you can compete consistently with the best.

That all being said, Jays have proved themselves on the field in every type of baseball situation all season long as complete disrespected Underdogs and only those that watched this team and players knew they had the juice and correct way of playing with some REAL good management (Pray to the Gods Little), best of the league DEFENSE, and a filled out lineup mixed in with some comeback depth.

Add in the camaraderie and brotherhood and you get what you’re seeing when outside things and bounces go your team’s way.

  9. Because the Jays are the epitome of a team, they care about each other, they will battle and grind it out for one another, they have a platonic and fraternal bond that goes beyond anything the Leafs have ever had.

  10. I mean vladdy might broke the game 7 curse for the leafs but wearing that Matthews jersey before the game and the jays getting the win in game 7.

  11. The mariners have the longest world series drought in the mlb, went up 2-0, were up 3-2 with 2 chances to finish, and then were up multiple runs going into the 7th inning game 7

The mariners completely fully leaf’d the blue jays
