This Is How The Tennessee Titans BEAT The New England Patriots In NFL Week 7 | NFL Preview

[Music] This is a matchup that I think Titans fans have been waiting for for a long time, but with the rise of the Patriots and how good they are, I don’t think they’re looking forward to this game that much anymore. Welcome to Titans Today by Chat Sports. I am your host Bert Alper. You’re going up against your former head coach and Mike Frabel. And now that the Patriots are 4-2 and you just fired your head coach, everybody, including Vegas, thinks that the Patriots are going to win this one. For me personally, it’s been circled on the calendar for a while. I think Mike Frabel has had this circled on the calendar. I think most of the Tennessee organization has been circling this game on the calendar many times. It’s a revenge game for Mike Frabel. He’s coming into the building that he used to coach at and you want to ruin that out of all the games because I think the Titans playoff hopes are plummeted after firing their head coach. Now your Super Bowl or if you want to call it that is making sure that the former head coach doesn’t come in and embarrass you. We got a full preview, but before we do that, give me a little update on our goal for the likes of October. Right now we are close to 800 likes and this is October 16th. We got 15 days left, two weeks to beat our goal of 1,500 likes. So, if you love the Titans, if you’re still rooting for them during this tough time, go ahead and hit that thumbs up icon. The Titans and the Patriots were in the offseason were kind of very similar. Uh, you got a new quarterback that you’re going in for a full season with Cam Ward, the Patriots, and Drake May. You’re also kind of having a new head coach. I mean, now the Titans are really going with a new head coach, but the Patriots are on the biggest turnaround. They went from one of the worst teams in the league from having the first overall pick last year until they beat the Bills in a meaningless game to go to the fourth pick and gave the Titans the first pick of the NFL draft. Thank you to the New England Patriots for that. But since then, they have excelled. And you could see this season, yeah, you did lose the opening game week one, but you beat the Dolphins and now you’re on a three-game winning streak and all the momentum is in New England’s favor. And they’re coming in knowing that they want to beat the living out of you. Top storylines, Mike Frabel’s return to Nashville. It was kind of not much, not something you see in today’s day and age, but all the Titans beat reporters. They requested to have a Zoom interview with Coach Frabel talking about his time here. Also, you have Mike McCoy taking over as head coach and the matchup that I’m looking forward to because I still like Cam Ward. I still think he’s going to be a solid QB. I know I talked about potentially him being a bust, but I think that’s a whole bunch of BS. It’s the offensive line. I like to see the Cam Ward versus Drake May, but this one, it’s personal, guys. We know it’s personal. I think Mike Frabel it wants to come into this building and stick it to the Titans for firing him and will try to absolutely blow them out. Since firing Frabel at the beginning of the after the 2023 season, Titans have four wins. Patriots have four wins this season. This is what Mike Frabel said about coming back to Tennessee. He said there’s going to be a lot of going to be probably a lot of said about this. And surely he’s right. I think it would file under the category of is it interesting or important. I would probably say this would be interesting, but in the end, not very important to our preparation or what we need to continue to try to do to improve as a team. But having spent six or seven years in Tennessee, I think it’d be nice to see some of the people that I haven’t seen in a few years that helped us win players and staff. But we’ve got a huge job to do here as we prepare for the Titans. I call I call BS. I know deep down in the back of his head because he is a football-driven mind that he wants to come in and have revenge. And who wouldn’t? If I get left a job and went to a different one and you’re going up against, let’s say, a ratings battle, I want to beat them no matter what. It’s in the back of your head. And uh Teddy Brussi was asked on Get Up a couple days ago if uh he’s that type of guy that takes things personal. And uh Teddy Brusski said to Mike Greenberg that he that Mike Frabel still messes with him about picking the Titans to lose in one of the games on Sunday NFL Countdown. Frabel has the Patriots back and going into this game. You have to do whatever you can to lower their momentum. Just try to at least not have that in the back of his head. Just ruin his coming his coming back party. And the Patriots, they’ve been really really good this season. Specifically Drake May. Their yards per game is 16th, but you can see their running game is ass. But passing game, sixth overall in the NFL, 244 yards. They’re 25 points per game. Let’s make note, the Titans are averaging 13 points per game, and they’re really, really good on third down, 41%. You have to get this team to run the ball. If Drake May comes out and picking you apart, it’s over. But the Patriots are not perfect. They did lose to the Pittsburgh Steelers. They had five turnovers against the Pittsburgh Steelers. week one. I’m not really going to take account of week one because no one really knows what’s going on in the NFL. No one really knows, so I’m not going to say that. But you can see what they did against the Pittsburgh Steelers and how they committed five turnovers. If you can let them commit turnovers, you have a chance in this ball game. It’s the NFL. Anything can happen. We saw a couple weeks ago, I’ve said it multiple multiple times that the Green Bay Packers lost to the Cleveland Browns. Cleveland Browns have one win. You can win this game. You can win this game. Who you guys got? Go down in the comments section. Give me a 10 for the Titans or give me an NE for the Patriots. It’s going to be a tough one for the Tennessee Titans, but I know that they’re going to come out with a fight. At least I hope so because clearly you didn’t come out with a fight against the Las Vegas Raiders and you got embarrassed by an awful, awful team. We know the defense is pretty solid, how they hold most teams to 20 points per game. We know how good Jeffrey Simmons is. But when you look on offense, the injury report has one guy that I’m looking at and it’s very scary because if you don’t have Calvin Ridley and you could see right there with a hamstring injury, your next top target is either Tyler Lockett, Van Jefferson or Ella Manor and the Patriots have Christian Gonzalez and Carlton Davis and a breakout candidate Marcus Jones. You can’t throw the football against them. Ardan Key is also missing. He’s a key contributor on the defensive line. That is one guy that can get to the quarterback that you’re going to need. There’s a lot of people on this injury report. A lot of people. But then you move over to the Patriots injury report and most of the guys that are out. Oh, you guys recognize a name right there. Harold Landry. It’s also his coming his return, his revenge game because the Titans cut him at the beginning of the season and he’s also having a little bit better season than we would have thought of. Christian Balmer’s limited. Stfan Diggs showed up on the injury report as limited. I would expect all these guys to play and you can see Christian Gonzalez is a full participant. he’s going to be guarding whoever the top receiver might be. But if you’re going up against the defense, that Patriots defense, which is really, really good. If Harold Landry is out with how bad the Titans offensive line is, this would be huge because Harold Landry wants to play this game. And if he can’t play in this game, you have a opportunity to at least kind of stop the bleeding with how bad this offensive line is. make Cam Ward only get sacked twice instead of six times like we saw against the Raiders. Going to my keys to victory. My first one. If the Titans want to have any chance in this game, you have to stop the pass and make them run the ball. Make the Patriots run the football. They’re not good at it. I don’t know if it’s an offensive line problem. I don’t know if it’s a running back problem, but against the Saints, if you look at what they did, it was really, really bad. Arandre Stevenson has 1.7 yards per carry. Tony Pard isn’t Tony Pard is way better than both of these running backs. They can’t get a running game going to save their life. It is solely based on Drake May. If you can just not load eight men in the box, do not do that. Literally play your nickels nickel zone. have everybody out there because the Patriots wide receiver core, it’s not that great. It’s just Stefon Diggs. Yeah, they have Kahan Booty and M. Collins, but you can beat that. You can easily beat that. You have to make them run the football. Make Reandre Stevenson beat you because it’s it’s hard if you’re going to have Raandre Stevenson beat you in the football game. Second key to victory, protect Cam Ward. How did you win against the Arizona Cardinals? Yeah, it was miracles. But Cam Ward didn’t get sacked once. Once. But then against the Raiders, the offensive line just forgot to play football. Look at this. This is JC Laam. Who are you blocking? Who are you blocking? That’s terrible. You’re letting the defender get right to Cam Warden. He has 1 second to throw. Obviously, he’s not going to get the pass off. And then the next play, this is from the all 22. You can see right here once again, the offensive line doing absolutely nothing. Kevin Zitler doing nothing, Lloyd Cushenberry doing nothing. And if the offensive line can’t do a thing against the Raiders defensive line, who’s not that great, the Patriots have two guys that are incredible. You have Jeffrey Simmons up here, which is the best player on the Titans. And then you go Christian Barmore and Milton Williams right there. Those two right behind him. They are going to feed off this bad offensive line. You have to protect Cam Ward. You have to watch out specifically for these two guys because these are the impact players that the Patriots have. If you let them get in between the tackles and through the offensive line, Cam Ward is going to have a rough rough rough day. Rough day and probably one of the worst that you’ve seen him have it this season. Next key to victory, you got to take advantage of the Patriots mistakes. They are a mistake mistake driven team and that’s specifically why they aren’t 5- one or even undefeated. They turn the ball over a lot. But one thing they do worse than any other team is they are not disciplined. They’re not disciplined in the slightest. 54 penalties, 411 yards. That’s first in the NFL. They commit the most amount of penalties. If you can draw those defensive pass interference calls, if you can draw those holding calls, if you can draw those drive killers that most teams do with penalties, you will win this game. And I’m talking about penalties. You also have to make them commit turnovers. Roandre Stevenson has 10 fumbles in the last since 2024. 10 of them. That leads the NFL. I want you when they run the ball, my one key to victory was have them run the ball. have Arandre Stevenson run it because for some odd reason they don’t give Tayvon Henderson the keys to keys to the uh vehicle. So Arandre Stevenson has the ball. Peanut punch the living hell out of that football every single play. That’s how you’re going to win this game. If you have them commit turnovers, make mistakes. If they’re a mistakefree team, you’re going to have a lot a lot of trouble. And the last key to victory that I have for the Titans, you got a new head coach coming in. Don’t let Frabel get his revenge. Do not let it happen. Do not let Mike Frabel come in and make this house, make Nissan Stadium his own home. You’re going in, you have a brand new head coach and you have that opportunity to get that interim bump because last week you had the worst practice. And this is what the Raiders coach said about your team. And this is one of the main reasons why Brian Callahan got fired because this is what the Raiders coach said. This might be the worst team I’ve seen in the last 25 years. They don’t have any difference makers other than Jeffrey Simmons. The whole thing was a total mess. And then another witness said that Simmons stopped practice on Thursday to point out what he considered a poor showing by secondyear right tackle JD Laam who had missed the previous four weeks with a hip injury. Yes, he’s coming back. And this is a quote from Jeffrey Simmons. I’ve watched you for the last 10 plays and this ain’t it. We need more from you. Clearly Jeffrey Simmons is being a leader here, but the team has to play better. How do you come off a win against the Arizona Cardinals and then Jeffrey Simmons says, “This is the worst. This is the worst week of practice I’ve ever seen.” That cannot happen. Actually try actually come out and play football. Play football. Try your ass off because this is your biggest game of your season. Got a new head coach. You’re going to get that boost. Everybody’s going to be hyped up because Brian Callahan is not a member of this team anymore. Do not let Mike Frael go in there and embarrass you because he is looking to do that specifically. Ruin his revenge. Ruin it. Predict the score for us for the Titans versus the Patriots in week seven. Do you think it’s going to be an upset? Because I think it’s either going to be an upset or the Patriots are going to blow the living doors off the Titans. It’s one of the two. It’s not going to be a close game. It’s either going to be an upset for the winning Titans or the Patriots are going to blow them out. We’ve seen Mike Frabel for the last five years. We saw what he did with the Patriots for with with the Patriots with the Titans from 2018 to 2023. He took this team from the dumpster fire, brought them all the way to the one seed in the AFC Championship and now they’re coasting off. And that’s exactly what he’s doing with the Patriots. And I think they have way too much momentum and this team just needs to play better. And this team is not a good team. Z’s got the Patriots winning this one 35-13. You’re not going to like it. But um Mike Frabel is that guy. Let’s just be honest here. Let’s just be honest here. Miss him out in Tennessee 100%. They made a mistake firing him. But you going on to the next one.
