NEW Eagles Trade Rumors & Intel From Dianna Russini

Coming up, more trade buzz from over the weekend from NFL insider Diana Rousini. We’re going to go through all those nuggets and how they could impact Philadelphia and their plans going into the NFL trade deadline. also obviously take a look at some players who they could target. Right now, here’s what Rousini said about the Eagles to really set the foundation for this conversation that we’re having here over the next several minutes. The Eagles are in search of help at the edge rusher and cornerback spots per Rousini. They have received calls on wide receiver AJ Brown and teams are being told, quote, “We aren’t moving him now.” Now, the addition of now is interesting. I tweeted about this on my social media pages and I think a lot of Eagles fans caught on to that because this is the smartest fan base in all of professional sports. You don’t let little things slide by you Eagles fans out there and I grew up in the Philadelphia area. I know exactly how this goes. And so a lot of people replied to my tweet saying, “I imagine she’s the one who included now because Howie or anybody else around the Eagles wouldn’t include that.” And look, I don’t think Howie Roseman is in the business of trading elite players. This man to my right is in the business of acquiring elite players. How often do you see Howie say, you know what, we’re just going to trade this elite player away? That is not how he conducts business. And it makes zero sense to trade AJ Brown away. Since acquiring him on draft night of 2022, he has been a top three top five wide receiver in football. Him and Jaylen Herz have had an unbelievable connection. He’s been an allp pro player every year that he’s played for the Eagles. He’s gone over a thousand yards every year that he’s put on an Eagles uniform. And after a slow start to the year, he’s starting to put up better numbers. and this pass game is starting to find it. The Eagles are also 5-2 in an NFC and an NFL that is completely wide open and you would take the Eagles in a one-off in a do or die game to compete and beat anybody across the league. But you’re a far worse team if you trade away AJ Brown because he’s truly an elite special oneofone player. And finally, against Minnesota, which entered Sunday as having the number two passing defense in the NFL, the Eagles pass game got going and they finally put together a full game. We have seen stretches, quarters, and halves where this pass game has been clicking. But really, for the first time for an entire 60-minute ball game, this pass game looked legit. And they’re starting to find something here from Jaylen Herz. He was throwing with accuracy, anticipation, throwing the deep ball. And he was awesome. One of the best throwing games of his career, 19 to 23, 326 yards, three touchdowns, no picks. The only quarterback in the NFL this year to have a game in which he had a perfect quarterback rating. And AJ Brown was a part of that. Four catches for 121, two touchdowns, average yards per catch of 30.2, to the 37yd catch where he extended the play after I will say a little bit of a sloppy route on the opening drive of the game and then his second touchdown in the second half. It was a great anticipatory throw by Herz. You go back and look at it. He released it. AJ wasn’t even in or out of his break yet. And then Devonte Smith, he blew up and had himself a whale of a ball game. And not a lot of teams across the NFL have the luxury of having an AJ Brown and a Devonte Smith. Why would you break that up? Smitty the slim reaper. Nine catches for a buck 83 and a touchdown and included that 79 yard. Now going back to what Rousini had said, this is obviously important for what we’re breaking down here on the show. She mentioned two positions that the Eagles are interested in. And it could be both. That’s kind of the belief around NFL circles, right? It could be edge rusher and or cornerback. And a popular name mentioned in some of these trade conversations and trade rumors is Trey Hendrickson. And Rousini does report that despite drawing interest, most around the NFL don’t expect a trade after the Bengals beat the Steelers on Thursday Night Football in a crazy game in which the 41-year-old Aaron Rogers and the 40-year-old Joe Flacco were going back and forth slinging it. Now, I do think things could change, right? Because the AFC North is wide open, the Ravens falling apart injury-wise, and they only have one win this year. The Steelers are at top the division with only three wins. The Browns have two wins. The Bengals now have three wins. The Bengals next two games could decide if they move Trey Hendrickson or not. Remember, he’s on an expiring deal. And so, they could look to get back something for a player who they could let walk in free agency, then they would get nothing for him. And if a team offers up a second rounder or a third rounder and the Bengals are out of the playoff race and things continue to spiral out of control even though they got that big dub against the Steelers to keep their season alive, maybe their tone will change. Bengals next two games, winnable game against the Jets, then they play the Chicago Bears, then the NFL trade deadline is after week nine going into week 10. Another player who could help out the Eagles is not an edge rusher outside linebacker, but he is one of the top defensive linemen in the game, and that’s Jeffrey Simmons of the Tennessee Titans. Rousini reporting that every Titans player except Jeffrey Simmons and Cam Ward are available. But I think that a big offer could change that. Now, obviously along the interior of the Eagles defensive line, you have Jaylen Carter, you have Jordan Davis. Morojo is playing great and he’s been awesome all year. Had that big sack against the Vikings on Sunday and Simmons obviously is an interior defensive lineman in a three- four scheme. He can play a little bit of defensive end. I wouldn’t expect the Eagles to go after a player like that, but he’s a former allpro and he’s elite. As far as the Dolphins and their edge rushers, this could be a fire sale for Miami. They could fire Mike McDaniel soon, although it’s not going to happen going into week eight. But they could trade two edge rushers. That’s Bradley Chub, four sacks, 13 pressures. He’s been tied to the Eagles a lot. Or the younger player in Jaylen Phillips, who has two sacks and 20 pressures. Of note for Chubb, played under Vic Fangio. When Fangio was the Dolphins defensive coordinator, the Dolphins acquired him in a trade with the Broncos. Fangio coached him as a head coach with Denver and Chub was a Pro Bowler there. The Jets could also be selling their winless so far this year. The only winless team across the NFL. And according to Rousini, the Jets are getting calls on running back Bree Hall. I think Kansas City makes so much sense there. And Kansas City is scary. They’ve really gotten it together. As well as pass rusher Germaine Johnson. Germaine Johnson could be a great Eagles trade option as well. More trade buzz, more trade speculation coming up just around the corner. You know how Roseman’s going to be active. More trade buzz from Diana Rousini just across the NFL here. And then I have a dream trade target for the birds that I want to talk about. The Chargers looking for running back and offensive line help. Omaran Hampton hurt. Joe Alt hurt. Rashawn Slater hurt. The Chargers got off to that good start, three and 0. They lost to the Giants. They’ve dropped a few games since then. And Justin Herbert is getting beaten up in the pocket. And it’s because the Chargers can’t protect right now. And it’s not doing Justin Herbert any favors that they can’t run it either. I personally think he continues to be overrated. He has unbelievable talent, but at some point you got to do something. For the Chiefs, they are looking for defensive line help. One of their rookies out of Tennessee, Omar Norman Lot, good player who I liked in the pre-draft, out for the year with the torn ACL. They could look for help there. I also think they should make a call to the Jets for Bree Hall. Bree Hall on the expiring year of his contract. He’s one of the top running backs in the NFL when he’s right. But that Jets team is a disaster. The Jets didn’t give him a contract extension. get some value back for a running back and then you just draft one in 2026 and you reset that contract. The Raiders are open to trading Jacobe Meyers, their wide receiver. Couple of teams across the NFL could make sense there. I think they should trade away Max Crosby as well. More on that in a moment. The Lions looking for edge help. Aiden Hutchinson playing really well. Doesn’t have a great compliment opposite of him. And the Indianapolis Colts, what a job. former Eagles offensive coordinator Shane Stken is doing with Daniel Jones. At this point, we’re going into week eight. Ladies and gentlemen, the Colts are for real and they’re looking for corner help. Jarvarius Ward playing well, but they need another one and won another one and overall defense help. They could be a trade that makes sense for Trey Hendrickson to team him back up with his former defensive coordinator from his Bengals days and Lou Anarumo who has that Colts defense playing well, but they might go allin at this point. The New Orleans Saints might extend Chris Olive. I’ll say this about the Saints. Kell Moore is doing a really good job. They are a very entertaining bad team and I think that they’re going to be competitive very soon with a lav. I wouldn’t like the idea of trading for him or paying him because of all the concussion issues. The Jaguars looking for defensive help. They have generated a ton of turnovers this year, but that’s not really sustainable. You can’t count on that week in and week out. They just need some more help on the defensive side of the ball. They got embarrassed overseas by the Rams on Sunday morning. The Cowboys looking for defensive help. Some Cowboys fans are clamoring for them to make a big move at the pass rusher spot. The offense has been great and Brian Shottenheimimer’s done a really good job. Dak Prescott is playing at an elite level. He hasn’t thrown a pick I think in four games, but on defense they’re bad bad. The New England Patriots looking for a running back and a defensive lineman. They have an easy schedule, but I will say Drake May is playing well. They’re one of the teams that I thought could go worse to first or be a playoff team this year. That’s looking good. And then I don’t really understand this, the Jets not aggress or the Giants, excuse me, the other team in New York not aggressively targeting a wide receiver. I’d be trying to support Jackson Dart. And if there’s a wide receiver available for a good price, I’d look to get that guy. Let me round out with this. The Eagles picked up a huge win against the Minnesota Vikings. The defense held the Vikings to one of six in the red zone, but clearly they are lacking juice at the pass rusher spot. It looks as though Brandon Graham might come out of retirement, but they still need some assistance there. I think they need an elite player. Their leading sack producer at the edge rusher spot retired and Zidarius Smith. And so I think Howie Roseman should call the Raiders and inquire about Max Crosby. It might take multiple first round picks, but Max Crosby can help you win a Super Bowl. The Las Vegas Raiders are a joke. I think that they should completely tear it down to the studs and rebuild. And if you trade away Crosby, I think that they can get multiple picks and multiple firstrounders. So why not trade him away? You’re able to get rid of the contract and you rebuild with multiple first round picks in your future the picks that you have and the picks that you can acquire and get back in a trade. Max Crosby is a terrific player. I love the way that he plays the game of football. He’d be the perfect Philadelphia Eagle. Right now he’s wasting his career away. And if Howe Roseman was willing to put together the best trade offer for the Cowboys to trade for Michael Parsons, Max Crosby is in that tier, why not put together that same package or a similar package and trade for Max Crosby? Makes a lot of sense and it would help the Eagles in 2025 and beyond. And that’s a player who I would love to be a part of this Eagles core moving forward. So, chime in.
