Alexander Steen surprised with Blues Hall of Fame nod in team meeting

We’re like most teams. We have a hall of fame and it’s it’s very important to us uh the Blues Hall of Fame. It encompasses a lot of things that we’re about and it’s my great honor to let you guys know that Alex Dean is going to be entering the Hall of Fame this year for the Blues. Some some of you guys have played with Alex and and you know you know him as a teammate. Some of you guys are going to know him as a manager. He came to St. Louis uh right around when I did in 2008ish. Uh came as a top six player, took us took a team that was trying to get better and made us great. We we were stubbing our toe. We weren’t getting better. He took it personal. He pushed me to be a better manager. He allowed me to push him to be a better player. We didn’t talk we didn’t see eye to eye all the time. But every time I talked to him, I knew he cared about the team. And I hopefully every time I talked to him, he knew I cared about the team. That’s what made him a special person. That’s what made him a special player. That’s what it means. And some of you guys in here will get that honor one day. But Steiner, I’m so happy to be the one to tell you. So, congratulations again. [Applause]

  1. This one is the induction that makes me emotional. He was my favorite player as a little kid and I even still have his name and number hanging in my childhood bedroom. Well deserved steen I couldn't think of someone who captivated me like you did! ❤
